Heavens, the show is not popular in some quarters is it? Hey ho, it won't stop me watching 'em. If he was angling for making more, the reviews won't help his cause methinks. Let's hope not.

My parents are staying with me this weekend, and my mum wants to watch Downton Abbey, so Sky+ it is for Man Lab. Looking forward to it.

Much better than last week's, even though it still had a lot of segments. I laughed out loud several times. This show is growing on me fast, such a shame next week is the last one.

Lindenchase, I agree with every single word you said. Much tauter, much funnier, much whimsier (is there such a word?)
I enjoyed last week's, though I could see why it was criticised. It's a shame that none of the critics who mauled it last week will be likely to go back to it, as I think this week's was so much better. And the inclusion of Oz was a flash of quiet brilliance.
(I've tried to convert a close friend of mine, much older than me [72 but still a raunchy jeans'n'T-shirt lady] and insisted she watches tonight. She's most reluctant as she's previously said James does nothing for her except his writing - she passes on his columns in the Telegraph every week. When I asked for more detail she said "He's too slim-built and too...well...pretty." Which was an interesting viewpoint.

There were so many funny moments. I expect a lot of complaints to the BBC about the dog. ;D Worryingly, TheBox has been down today. Hope it's not a permanent thing. I can't wait to download this episode. Normally I'm not into screen caps that much, but James' life flashing before his eyes should make for some interesting pics.

Thebox is working for me, but there's no torrent there yet. I will also be sticking my recording on megaupload, probably sometime tomorrow morning.

At last!!! something i can do that James can't - hang wallpaper ;D ;D My Dad taught me, back in the early 70's everything had to wallpapered, it went so well with the G-Plan furniture So James if you need a lesson or two Just one thing.... not flock paper, its very....Indian curry house ;D

I think that might be why James chose that particular wallpaper. I can hang wallpaper too Jacqui, my Dad taught me in the early 70's, does that sound familiar. Perhaps that is what Dads did back then. I'm also quite handy with a tool set and can do basis electrical things.

I loved this weeks episode. I laughed several times especially at the bit where James tells us how to tie a bow tie. The dueling scenes were also very funny and didn't he look disappointed when they had to abandon their sailing trip. It was great seeing Oz involved again. I also seem to be developing a slight crush on Sim. He's very handy isn't he.

About to watch it on iplayer - looking forward to it from the comments above.
Dit - the comment from your friend about James being pretty - I think that's interesting too. I actually think his shorter hair style (which has grown on me) makes him look more styled and less rugged, even though it's shorter. So I can see what she means - but in a good way.

I enjoyed this one more as well. Although I don't think it will please those who had higher expectations (did anyone see Points of View yesterday? A couple of very disappointed gents got airtime.....). I enjoyed it more cos it made me laugh more - it's blatantly a light hearted programme about chaps getting up to 'stuff' and being chaps rather than a programme aiming to educate or inform in a big way, although there is stuff to pick up. Neither does it attempt to make any sociological points on man's place in today's society as some might have hoped. Arf! I didn't like that bar though - way too trendy and a bit camp and not comfy at all, but that's just my taste in pubs/bars - give me a comfy chair every time. TBH I just like taking him in (ahem!) and enjoying the eyes and the legs and the voice.

Actually I too thought that this weeks offering was far better, I was wondering if he enjoyed doing this series the most, maybe I'm wrong but to me it seemed so. I must admit I'm far more attracted to that dry sense of humour long may it live ;D

How sweet are those pics!! ;D ;D I really enjoyed last night's episode. Having Oz guest star was a brilliant idea! Can't wait to see if James manages to pick him up off the beach next week! ;D Not too sure about the choice of wallpaper for the bar. Actually not too sure about putting wallpaper up period. Perhaps a painted design would be better. I think James needs to spend more time with women if he thinks we only go to the bathroom every two weeks! ;D ;D Made me LOL though- scared the cats! I too was wondering if TheBox was ever going to put up the torrent last night! Worried! Worried! Phew! ;D The dueling segments were wonderful!! James in a mask... excuse me. The Naughty Corner/Dungeon is paging me! ;D

Eshalda, my dad taught me a fair bit about painting and decorating, how to paint with gloss properly, wallpaper hanging skills which i ahve passed on to my daughter! Those were the days I still have my dads smoothing brush or whatever its called, it must be a collectors piece by now! DMC I am one of those women who can go two weeks if required made me laugh too, nearly as much as the gentle 'ribbing' he was giving John Sargent while he was changing a tyre!! I love those last two photos, agreed the one on the boat is gorgeous

My first post here so apologies if this was answered in another section of the board.
When JM was having his "life flashing before his eyes" moment, the final picture was a woman with a spanner. Was this his Sarah? I'm wondering since the picture I saw of her online was of a blonde but the features of the two women look very similar though the blonde had a polite smile while the brunette had a large grin.

Welcome! Nope, it wasn't Sarah, nor one of his sisters. Probably she is someone he works with on the show.

Does anyone know how I can view the "apology" clip on the Manlab website? Since it's "not available in my area", it's frustrating. I checked youtube and no one has put it there yet.

I've just viewed said apology. I feel quite smug now because I thought I must have imagined it when James got wiring a plug wrong. Now we all know my preferred penalty for this most heinous of man-errors, but seeing as it's a) the old wiring system, which is in any case obsolete and b) James, I shall on this occasion allow the shotgun to remain in its cabinet at my dad's house.
