Don't know whether you've seen this and I can't get a link for it (Mail - don't stop reading - Friday, Richard Kay column and I thought it would be everywhere by now) so I'm just typing it out, but it looks as if Jezza might actually have done something this time:
"Motoring fanatic Jeremy Clarkson says he was flashed twice by speed cameras doing 60 in a 50mph zone.
That's potentially six points on his licence, plus a fine. He tells Top Gear magazine that failing eyesight might be to blame - an admission that's hardly likely to go down well if he's up before the beak.
Touchy Clarkson fears the worst. "They'd fine me £1 million and make me break rocks for 1,000 years", he says."

Should they really decide to throw the book at him and he receives a motoring ban on public roads I'll happily become his chauffer! Can you imagine the publicity if any of the TG3 got a driving ban?

Well as long has he was joking about his eye-site he should be OK just a little lighter in the wallet. And a few points on his licence.

This actually comes more under the heading of 'Jeremy did this years ago'.
I know I shouldn't read the Daily Mail, as it makes me an idiot of the worst kind, and it does come up with some rubbish but also some interesting bits too. Today one of the columnists wrote a brief article saying that Jeremy was married before Francie, to a blonde called Alexandra James (now Hall), who is thought to be writing a book (well she would, wouldn't she?)
I assume it's true and I don't know whether that's something that's well known or has been discretely glossed over.

I don't know how to feel about this. When I go to work, I do not want to be bothered by men coming up to me and making stupid comments, I just want to get on with my Job.

It's a sad sad world. Or a sad sad country. Most women can give as good as they get, or worse, when it comes to sexual banter. It's knowing when it's right to do it and most of us can read that. I haven't worked anywhere, even in the sappy place I'm in at the mo, where something like that doesn't go on with someone. It's the whole witch hunt behind the scenes back stabbing that is the biggest worry. You won't even be able to say stuff in your own home soon. I do worry Jezza will push that envelope a bit far one day though. Although he can always say he made it up to make a point (though I expect the Daily Wail is on the way to South Africa right now to find her.) But maybe a bit of him wants to call it a day and move to France and open a vineyard.

Oh for crying out loud. Bothering the nurse and wasting her time? For shame, Jeremy. If she really had nothing else to do and seemed to be enjoying the joke, I suppose that's one thing, but what if she had people with legitimate injuries to see?
As for the Hammond "willy" comment -- it's in really poor taste, but I don't think poor taste should be a firing offense.

Did Hammond actually say that, Jezza says he did. And if he did; I'm sure the paramedic had a sense of humor. OFFS this is Jeremy this is what he does, the whole world has gone pc crazy I agree one day he may go to far but in the meantime todays papers are tomorrows cat litter tray linings and there is an off button on the telly. ;D

Agreed, Jacqui - Just because Jeremy said Richard said it doesn't mean it actually happened. Writers like to make up details to embellish stories - or flat-out-lie. It's all the same - for the readers' enjoyment (or ire, as the case may be.) And....um...how exactly did Richard know 'it' tasted funny? Is he extremely flexible? Did Jeremy tell him? (Ducking!) It's the best part of the joke - think about it. You have to ask yourself these questions and then go scrub your brain!

It's worth pointing out that Top Gear Live has its own paramedics that work on the show - in the UK shows, they even show the ambulance as part of the paddock tour. It's not like they were walking into A&E and harassing someone, they were having a joke (some people might find it in questionable taste, but it's not in any case our place to be offended on someone else's behalf - I know, for example, I'm more upset by people saying nobody should make jokes about mental illness than I am by jokes about mental illness - I'm big enough and ugly enough to fight my own battles, thank you very much) with someone who was part of the crew, and if she was anything like the chap I spoke to from the Top Gear Live ambulance crew in Birmingham, she'd have appreciated the distraction because their role is precautionary; the main reason they're there is to jump into action if anything goes wrong during the show, and generally it doesn't. Anyway, middle-aged men are silly; a pretty girl will turn the heads, and we all know those two are among the silliest.

So when will the BBC be changing it's name to MUM? Isn't it one of a mother's tasks to make her children apologize to the neighbors for insulting their child?
From where I sit, it's not illegal to offend someone. You either take it on the chin like a grown-up or whine about it to whomever is in charge. No one likes a whiner!!
Guarantee the Mexican ambassador wasn't watching the show. Some other sniveling sap heard about it and woke up the ambassador just before he dropped the remote.

Honestly, is the British sense of humour really so difficult to understand?! People seem to be so easily offended these days. Maybe someone should explain to this man that TG was in fact making fun of a stereotype, not the Mexican people themselves. *sigh*

I do think they went a little too far this time, It came across as if they were looking to upset someone which I think is a little sad.

It came across as if they were looking to upset someone I thought that too actually.... like it was some kind of provocation to see how many complaints they could get this week. However I thought it was amusing Maybe I'm just odd....

A lot of very very angry Mexicans on Twitter: ;D twitter.com/#!/search/%22top%20gear%22 twitter.com/#!/search/jeremy%20clarkson twitter.com/#!/search/%22james%20may%22 twitter.com/#!/search/%22richard%20hammond%22 What I like most about all this, is that the morons behind the several fake accounts have been inundated with angry tweets as well. I feel that th only one who went a bit too far was Richard when he something like "Imagine what it must be like waking up and realizing you're Mexican." That felt a bit nasty.

I also think on reflection that it went a bit far, especially as it was all three of them involved in a protracted routine. Having said that, as soon as they said it was a Mexican car, I made exactly the same leap about itslikely characteristics, like I would about any car. Would I have gone that far? Absolutely not, but I'm not a Top Gear presenter.
However, I will be very disappointed if either the BBC or the communications regulator censures Top Gear because of this and here's why: the double standards that operate in the media regarding issues such as sexism and racism. A couple of months ago, a young black female comic on The Stephen K Amos show did a routine that derided men in general and derived its humour from the horrifying idea that she might be reduced to dating a white man if she got desperate. Without reference to any stereotypical characteristics about white British men, she made a joke based solely on the colour of someone's skin. According to OFCOM, this was fine. I asked if their response would have been the same had a white man made a similar joke about being so desperate for a sh*g that he'd date a black woman and got no reply. Any sane person knows that this wouldn't be acceptable, and nor should it be, but I shall be bringing this up again if there's fallout from the Mexican thing because I don't see the difference; Miss London's comedy routine opens the door to blatant double standards.
