Would I actually get away with that, Lindenchase? It's not the idea of facebook in itself I object to, it's the (potentially) intrusive nature of it.

You'll be fine as long as your privacy settings are ok. Check out the Privacy link at the bottom of the Facebook page. www.facebook.com/#!/privacy/explanation.php Make sure you use a name that is plausible. Facebook has disabled accounts of people who used fantasy names. Also, be aware you won't be able to change it to your real name in a later stage.

If I totally changed my attitude at a later date (unlikely, as today's news is that the details of 10 million facebook users have been passed on to advertisers - but) would I be able to create my own authentic account?

Yes, you would. If you have posted things on your fake account, you won't be able to transfer that though. By the way, Proboards does exactly the same thing as Facebook. The specific ads you see here are there for a reason.

Whatever you say, TheDaisy.
Anyhoo: check out the London Pride Facebook page again. Great videos of James tasting a range of Fuller's beers. It like Oz and James drink to Britain, without Oz. ;D
There are about ten videos. If Fuller don't post them on their own YouTube channel, I'll add them to mine later this week, so we can all enjoy them.

You are so good to us Lindenchase , thank you. You really are a star. It amazes me how much info you find on James, it takes me all my time keeping up with things here let alone looking elsewhere.

You're welcome, Brycegold. Make sure you watch the videos from left to right and see how James slowly but surely is becoming more and more clattered. ;D

Thanks for all the info, Lindenchase, especially about the vids and where I'll be able to find them. I love the idea of watching James sliding gently into clatterdom!
Edit: what name do you use on YouTube?

Most of my family worked in breweries. I was the first one to break the mould.

If I lived across the street from that billboard, I'd in a lawn chair out front and never leave. I think my job just might suffer the tiniest bit! ;D ;D

If you lived opposite that billboard, your house would be under a flyover, on a roundabout in the middle of the A4, just before it meets the Motorway!

If you lived opposite that billboard, your house would be under a flyover, on a roundabout in the middle of the A4, just before it meets the Motorway! I know that roundabout well, as the A4/M4 was my regular route in and out of London when I lived in Kensington. I wouldn't want to live on it either! Mind you, that billboard would have brightened up that part of the journey.

You'd have been better off looking at it on the way in to London, you'd probably have crashed into DMC's new house looking at it going the other way!

I've had a lovely reply to my e-mail to Fullers, when I asked if there was any chance of them putting any of the facebook stuff onto their website. David Spencer, their marketing manager said he was really pleased at the level of interest and pointed me in the direction of their YouTube page www.youtube.com/londonprideads which we know about. The bad news (for me) is that this part of the campaign was designed solely for facebook and would be far too expensive to re-purpose for their website. He said that with 25.000,000(can that be right?) followers in the UK, to a small firm like Fullers it's too good an opportunity to miss. He said they would monitor it, not to give up hope and to try to find a friend and watch through their account. It was a lovely, friendly message and I'm so chuffed that he bothered to respond (and at 8pm!) I'm going to send a big thank you. So that's a bit more info from the horse's marketing manager's mouth keyboard.

I've had an e-mail this morning from David Spencer thanking me for my "kind understanding" and saying "look out for more ads soon!"
What very nice people they are at Fullers!
