On Twitter, @arlingtontalent mentioned that the James May Man Lab bar was still up and running and provided this lushful photo <3 It's strange that there's tinsel in August ;D Wonder if I can buy one of the above with my high street vouchers? This particular one would be very useful in a variety of ways - some of which are probably illegal or depraved ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ETA....thought it was a mans bar? Champagne is for ponces; surely it should be bottles of real ale on the shelves instead???

There appears to be a manly handsaw on some of the shelves, which surely cancels out the champagne

Going back to Love Fungus.... Not sure if somebody's already posted this video of James introducing "Love Fungus" at the Festival (my apologies if it has been posted). It's shot by one of the crowd members, so it's a bit far away. Still you can hear and see him in all his rock god glory: www.youtube.com/watch?v=CV9gq7SzwIk

Thanks for that, mightybabs. James is, indeed, in rock god mode. Shame the band isn't awfully good.....

I didn't really want to say anything about them since I wasn't impressed but since you have......What kind of music are they?

The sort of music where you give them marks for trying? Sorry, Love Fungus, but you didn't do it for me. (I suspect there might have been a decent rhythm section starting to develop there, though)

This is interesting www.shadowhawk.co.uk/1/post/2011/09/james-may-manlab2.htmlIt suggests it's for the new series, but mentions 'his American colleague', which makes me wonder if either this was actually for the American Man Lab series (which we don't know much about yet) or who is this colleague, if it really is for UK series 2?

Give me another minute to dig. From the blog of Hawkeye The Noo: Sunday, August 28, One recent and upcoming event that I will mention is my being on TV fairly soon. I will be on TV with James May and Oz Clarke along with the Shadowhawk Hunter Force Tracking team. We will be on Manlab 2 in the episode called Prison Break. This is scheduled as far as I am aware for The end of October. stalk-like-an-apache.blogspot.com/

Brilliant find (and excellent pics), adrianmay! It also seems to explain various photos recently with James and Oz wearing boilersuits (that's not the boilersuit [catwalk version], you understand!)

Good to know. I miss James. Endless TG repeats on Dave aren't the same.

A man named Geoffrey McMullan, who is a “Wilderness Survival and Tracking Instructor with an MSc in Addiction Psychology & Counselling," said in his on-line newsletter…
“Recently I was asked by a T.V. company to track James May across Dartmoor which for personal reasons I felt was not appropriate for me or my company, it had to do with cattle prodding James if he was caught.”
Um.....cattle prod....okay....

I have 2 questions ... 1) Is 'Man Lab' a BBC show? 2) Is there any news on if they will show it here in America?

I'm putting this info and these pics here, though I don't know whether this is connected to the Tarka trains programme or it might be Man Lab. I'm tempted to think trains as a. Oz is involved b. They are both wearing dirty overalls c. It's in Devon (Meavy, to be precise) One young lady has been very lucky! Can anyone shed any light on this? (Oh, and I love the Jaaaag!) (pics found on t'internet, by the way, don't know who originally posted them but it looks as if it was within the last day or two)
Even more piecing together! I posted the above in May on the Toy Stories thread, as I had the information but no context and thought it might be another train thing (boilersuits and so on). Jacqui then put it onto the Man Lab thread a while later as it looked as if it might belong there, but I never found out any more. This one popped up in August I hadn't seen your pic before, but it looks as if we may well now have as full a story as we'll get until we see the programme. I love detective work!

So, James was playing escape from Colditz with Oz and twisted his ankle? Does this mean we get to see May running on tv once more?

I have 2 questions ... 1) Is 'Man Lab' a BBC show? 2) Is there any news on if they will show it here in America? Man Lab is indeed a BBC show prodeced by Plum Productions. As for America, you are getting your own Man Lab... "BBC America Looks to Expand Roster of Original Content with 5 New Pilot OrdersToday, BBC America announced 5 new original pilots in development: James May’s Man Lab U.S......... (etc., etc)
James May’s Man Lab U.S. is produced by Plum Pictures and based on Top Gear presenter May’s successful British format of the same name. In the U.S. version, James comes to America and teams up with an American sidekick in order to help his transatlantic brethren rediscover and relearn the skills that define what “being a man” is all about. Executive Producers for Plum Pictures are Will Daws and Stuart Cabb." ;D

It looks as if Stephen Fry may well be involved in the new series. He tweeted this morning
Oh my arse and whiskers. First I had to assemble a flat pack computer desk for a TV programme. Why do I say "yes"?
and got a number of responses along these lines:
This has to be James May and his Man Shed! Good show. Did the flat pack furniture have something to do with a Mr. James May?
