Thanks to someone who had the insight to put a half decent picture of Mr May on the cover, some have been only fit to throw darts at ;D sorry James, I do love you though probably more than half decent. Oh and Jac I'd make sure you at least get a ride on the bonnet ;D

I saw that via a link on Facebook. I think that will be a belated birthday present to myself. With any luck, he might see fit to do another booksigning in St. Pancras station, which is now my work HQ. There's a branch of Foyle's bookshop there, or even plenty of room on the concourse, so it would be viable. Then I could go to it either before or after work. Actually, it would be just my luck if I was still at work at the time, but such is life. How about it, James? ;D

Dear Mr. May, Would you please consider doing a book signing in London sometime between, say, September 14th-21st? AND NOT A DAY EITHER SIDE.Yours sincerely, Pie ;D

LOL @ DMC ;D Guess what? I have created this page about James May's Man Lab and I sent a message to all members with links to both the book and DVD's of Man Lab and I got a message back from a sort of friend whom I seldomly see, and he wrote: Ordered them for you! I'll visit you in November and bring them with me. I was like OMG I am not good at accepting gifts from others!!!

I bought my copy late yesterday evening, on the way home from work (I managed to get to Waterstone's about ten minutes before closing time!). Based on my brief look through it during the Tube journey home, it looks like a great read. Go and get it, folks! ;D

Ooh! Reading the book now! I'm on the chapter that discusses saws. Also, when I admitted to my husband that I had bought yet another of James' books ("How to Land..." and "May on Motors" being the first two), he rolled his eyes and asked if he should start growing his hair longer.

Got a copy for twelve pounds from Tesco - could have bought it cheaper from Amazon but then I would have had to pay, instead of the OH including it in the weekly shop with him paying Three cheers for womanly wiles! ;D ;D ;D PS Now, if there's a booksigning, dare I sneak it into the bookshop without paying their full whack for a copy???

Hey, I got a Big Track for Christmas one year. I think I was only 9. My father couldn't figure it out. Took a bit of reading of the manual on my part but the toy thought me things. Besides immense patiences and persistences, it taught me how to estimate distance in real life, measure degrees of a circle, and the importance of ordered directions (pre-computer programing skills). It wasn't all rubbish. Oh and happily, it was loud as hell! ;D

SIGNING ALERT!!!
Hodder website has signings on Tuesday 15th November, 13.30 Leadenhall, 5pm Canary Wharf.
What am I to do? I'll have been at the NEC from the previous Thursday to the Sunday - and bankrupted myself, no doubt. Do I continue to London (and miss something I've arranged for that evening in Lancashire) or go home and sulk?
Edit: These are definitely going to be the only signings - I've just rung Hodder to check.
PLEASE NOTE - as corrected by Lindenchase on the next page, the Leadenhall signing is 12.30, not 1.30. I got the info originally from a tweet and have only just had chance to check the Hodder site - when I phoned, all I asked was whether there would be any other dates.

Having just got round to the thought that maybe, just maybe I could finally do what many of you have done, the one day chosen is a 'three line whip' training day that I absolutely cannot get out of. As my job, like many other people's, is in peril I simply cannot take the chance. Sucks thumb.
