Those of you that have been to signing, are there usually more women there than men? The men are usually stood around asking the ladies of the queue who is he exactly?!

Sadly, I will not be going to the signing. I could go. My husband is a saint and found affordable tickets. He even arranged to take off work. I even got to the stage where I was on the page to book the flight. But the more I thought about it, the more doubtful I became. My leg is still in very bad shape. So much so that my doctor said I am going to have to have another operation. Yesterday, just walking from the car to the inside of the pub and then walking from the table to the bathroom and then back to the car really caused me a lot of pain. So I would have to use my wheel chair the entire time we were in London and cities are so hard to get around when you are in a wheel chair. We would have to use public transport or taxis and that would be such a hassle with a chair. Except for meeting James, I just can't see myself having a good time under the circumstances. I would rather wait until next year, after my next operation, when hopefully my leg will be better and I can do more. I'm really bummed now. But I hope those of you who do go have a lovely time. If anyone who is going would be willing to get a book signed for me I would love you forever.

Oh Aeromanda, I'm so sorry to hear that. Fingers crossed there's an opportunity to meet him when you're there next year! (Thinking outside the square a little here...who has Skype on their phone? Actually no, I'd be fast asleep and he'd wake me up. Hmm, on second thoughts... ;D)

Oh no, aeromanda, Im so sorry to hear!! it's so cool of you that you were capable of thinking with your head instead of your heart. But I had so hoped that you could go...... Hopefully the operation is going to help so that you can come over next year...

Thanks for the condolences guys. I am counting on him writing more books and doing more signings so that I'll be able to attend one eventually.

I now have my work schedule for next week, and it seems that I'll be working later in the afternoon. Therefore, I'll be attending the 12.30pm signing at Leadenhall Street. If anyone from here is going, it would be nice to meet up. Maybe some lunch afterwards, too.

There's a tiny possibility I might be able to make this. Sadly, it will mean that I lose another Saturday off work, but I have to wait until the rota has been juggled - again. Bother people for leaving work and giving no notice. If I ever see that cretin agian, I shall smack him upside his big fat head But it might mean having Tuesday off, so there's always a bright side, ay?

Here are a few photos from the Canary Wharf signing. Sorry about the mosaic-like quality - I forgot my camera and had to borrow one from work! Canary Wharf Photos

I won't bother telling you about the transport problems I had today (missed just about every connection through no fault of my own) or the lovely afternoon I had a Camden Market (I was too late - see above - for what I planned to do, so just got in a cab at Euston and told the cabbie to take me somewhere interesting and quirky). I will say that Mayfayre was able to turn up and it was lovely to talk to her again. I don't think there were any other JMB members - this was the 5pm at Canary Wharf. As usual, my camera didn't perform well but it's partly the light conditions there. I felt a bit of a fool, snapping away but I was waiting for a good shot. Can't say I ever got that, but these are probably the best. At the end James was dragged off to a vodka promotion stand just nearby. I didn't see him complaining. He'd put on his twitter "Please bring food" and it was very noticeable; he never stopped eating the whole time. In fact, he's chewing in around 70% of my photos. All in all it was worth it, and when I mentioned how much I'd enjoyed the NEC he said they were pleased with it and added "I think we've grown up." chewing vodka The staff very politely take a pic of each person with "the author" And now I'm tired and need my bed. It's been a long day.

luckely I didnt go to the signing, I would have brought him tons of things from my country ;D I suddenly have this image in my head of about 20 ladies turning up to Waterstones, all with both arms filled with food stacked so high above their heads that they can't see where they're going and they're crashing into everything. Big Christmas hampers, that sort of thing. Then a truck turns up outside and starts unloading all the international fare, courtesy of those who couldn't make it. Within five minutes, James has completely disappeared underneath everything and can't sign any books until he's chewed his way out. (They do say the way to a man's heart is through his stomach...)
