I'm often intrigued as to how these specially invited audiences get invited. This lecture obviously had the usual family, friends and colleagues of the speaker, plus a smattering of the great and good of the science world - David Attenborough, Dr Steve Jones, the Astronomer Royal, whose name escapes me, Brian Cox and Dara O'Briain (yes I know he's a comedian but he co-presented an astronomy programme), plus a couple of other familiar faces.
And James, who didn't seem to quite fit with that lot, until I noticed that the Executive Producer was his former collaborator, Phil Dolling.
