First newsletter is out!
Join Clarkson, Hammond, May and The Stig at Top Gear Live: 25-28 October
There’s a fantastic new programme of activity which will see the TV presenters and The Stig joined by a whole host of guest drivers and star cars.
Enjoy a full day out at the Live Arena show, custom built track & exhibition.
The show will run over the October half-term, so why not treat your kids to a day out to remember and book them tickets to Top Gear Live!
This makes sense - doing it over half term week for the kids - brilliant idea! For those whose half term falls in that week!
Special ticket offers too for those who have signed up to the newsletter - so if you haven't do so now!!! ;D

Does this mean you'll be going then? I'd love to go, but all in all, flying to the UK, staying in a hotel etc etc. will be a little bit too expensive I'm afraid. Wish they'd come to Holland! Me too. Or Belgium

To fizzylogician - I have tickets! Last performances on Saturday and Sunday, Silver for Saturday and Gold FRONT ROW for Sunday (I'm hoping that performance will have an 'end-of-term' mood!) But be warned - although I got through on the phone straight away, the organisation is pretty chaotic. They have no seating plan (can you believe it?) and the girl I spoke to initially gave me the wrong information about row numbers and couldn't understand why she couldn't find Gold seats in row AA - that's because AA is near the back, not the front. The main surprise, which is important for people's planning, is that the show times I've been given on the phone are not the ones on the Top Gear Live website. The last ones on the website are 5.30pm for Saturday and 3pm for Sunday, but I've been given 6.45pm for Saturday and 3.45 for Sunday. I asked her to check three times but she assured me that was correct, even though the website says the venue closes at 7pm on the Saturday! She said she'll send me e-mail comfirmation and I'm hoping that will clarify it a bit. Hope this information is helpful to those planning to book.

Well done Dit there is a seating plan if you go through the motions of buying tickets on line there is a link. Basically its the same as last year for those who went. Although the block numbers are labelled differently MoA they did this FB thing last year and I was told they kept some best seats back to keep it fair for those who can't be a****d with FB ;D

I'm going on my own, which is why it made sense for me to book today. I'm sure I'll meet up with other jolly Mayhemers when I get there! I went to the Excel on my own last year and enjoyed it immensely, wandering about, soaking up the mood, even though I'd had a rollicking good weekend at the NEC with other ladies of the JMB (especially Jacqui!) a fortnight before which I'd enjoyed in a totally different way!
Edit: the TGL site has now modified the show times to the ones I was given over the phone (though it still says the show closes at 7pm on the Saturday with a last performance time of 6.45 - which would make it a very short performance)

Awesome, Dit!! We're gonna need some pretty good piccies from the front row, you know. ;D I do hope they do more shows here, although it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't. It isn't as though we're just around the corner.

Got my three for two ticket offer and upgraded from my usual gold to platinum. Can't afford of course, but who cares when it's TGL. Well, I figured that after I'd bought the showguide etc, which I now get free with platinum, I would only be saving a pittance. Now the long wait till October. Hmm, I wonder how many times that I will visit the JMB before then... 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 Oops!

Anyone know how long it takes for e-mail confirmation to come through? Mine hasn't arrived yet.

Glad you've got the tickets you wanted, Jacqui and MofA! Anyone know how long it takes for e-mail confirmation to come through? Mine hasn't arrived yet. They didn't ask for my email address but they did say "Oh you've booked before - for the last ...oh 3 years are you a fan?" I think they may all my details - including my bra size ;D

Bearing in mind the above, I rang to ask what was happening. Apparently the girl I spoke to yesterday had written down my e-mail address incorrectly (I said she seemed a bit dim). The girl I spoke to this lunchtime apologised and said she was sending the confirmation "immediately" and indeed, an e-mail arrived within seconds -
- which only refers to one of the two performances I've booked!
They really are muppets on there. It does annoy me. So if the other doesn't arrive (I rang about half an hour ago) I'll have to ring yet again, as I don't trust anything unless I've got written confirmation in my grubby little paw!
Update - well, I had to ring again as nothing happened, and I spoke to a very nice young man called Dave (might have been your very nice young man, Jacqui?) By this time I'd checked the SEE tickets website which confirms my Sunday ticket but shows no booking for the Saturday. Young man Dave was baffled, said it's registered on his computer and the money's been taken from my account. He said he was sending an immediate e-mail and he was sure the SEE site would update. Three hours later, nothing. I'm getting cross now, at 10p per minute!
Update 2 - third phone call of the day and they've finally sorted it. The original muppet had written my e-mail address incorrectly in two different ways with the original bookings, and this afternoon's lovely young male muppet hadn't bothered to check properly even though I read out my correct e-mail verrrry slowly. So their system wasn't recognising me. Problem now solved - I hope!

Why thank you, Antonia, and I hope we meet up too! There should be time, as I'm now going to the latest arena performance on Saturday (6.45) but I'll be around most of the afternoon, so I'm sure we can organise a time.
I have a history of things going wrong with bookings, websites and firms I have to contact, to such an extent that I always assume a 'belt and braces' approach and check if I have the slightest suspicion that all is not well. I find I was wise to check in around 98% of cases, this being one!

What I don't understand is they know they will get many calls but still manage to make a cock up somewhere. How hard can taking a booking be?

One thing's occurred to me - as they're deliberately targetting family audiences with their move to half term and free/family tickets, will there be no more of those lovely, rather naughty comments that we've learned to listen out for? That would be a shame. Perhaps they might still slip through, couched in terms that are designed to go over children's heads? I found this article interesting as it filled some gaps in information www.fit4talent.com/news/top-gear-live-tickets-now-on-sale/702/And I enjoyed Clarkson's comment, "A bigger show is great as it will make Richard seem even smaller and means James will spend even more of his time lost wandering around in the back stage shadows."
