From the guy who posted this pic, outside their hotel: "Jeremy is very polite and likeable, he let us take pictures even though the production team had told us not to. We welcomed them in behalf of the TG fans in Bariloche, and he joked with us that we're fans but unfortunately he has to work in the show" tumblr

If you just heard the news, we invite you to view this special section. For those who have been following the story from the first day, we update them with the latest news: Friday through Sunday, the caravan led by Jeremy Clarkson's Porsche 928 GT, James May's Lotus Esprit V8 and Richard Hammond's Ford Mustang Mach 1 was in El Calafate, Argentina, filming shots on the Perito Moreno Glacier. But before, they went through the Chilese Workshop, where cars were subjected to the usual tuning of all the Top Gear specials: the suspensions were modified to improve performance on gravel roads and grotesque off-road accessories were added. But in this case, the car bodies were also altered to improve carrying capacity. The Porsche and Mustang were turned into pick-ups, while the Lotus is now pulling a trailer. They then crossed into Chile and stopped in the free port of Punta Arenas, where they bought all kinds of junk, including a $2,400 dollar (£1,480) vase in the Transworld Supply store . The goal? That's a secret known only to Andy Wilman, the legendary executive producer of Top Gear. Then the cars embarked on the local port and sailed on a ferry to Tierra del Fuego . Over the next few days they will be recording on the island, in both Chilean and Argentine territory. The final episode will be filmed in Ushuaia. Reservations at Hotel Arakur, overlooking the bay of Ushuaia, are planned for this Wednesday, October 1. *The Top Gear caravan is in Tierra del Fuego since Monday, the end of the nearly two-week trip to Patagonia, which began in Bariloche, they drove on Route 40 and crossed into Chile twice. In case you were not aware, the full story of the filming of the BBC special programme in the Argentine South you can review here. Those who are aware are Autoblog's paparazzi, which follow the caravan to Sun and shade. The team led by Jeremy Clarkson's Porsche 928 GT, James May's Lotus Esprit and Richard Hammond's Ford Mustang Mach I's (highly modified in a workshop of El Calafate) arrived last night at Gran Hotel Rio Grande, of Tierra del Fuego. "Waiting for them at 20 and arrived at 24, exhausted", reported Daniel Vázquez, Autoblog's paparazzo. "Even so, kindly, allowed me a few words and photos. Apparently, it was a difficult day. Although not confirmed to me, they might have made the path to Yendegaia, a rough mountain range crossing, with gravel and perhaps snow, in the Porvenir area. Apparently, May would have given the cart his Lotus was towing to the hotel people. He told them he was sick of that thing". GL, another of the paparazzi of Autoblog, added information: "I could talk to one of the production and he told me that at noon on today, Wednesday, they depart for Ushuaia, so will make it nearly impossible to follow them. Surely stop in Tolhuin, which is half way". GL had time to inspect the car in detail: "You can tell the Porsche and Mustang had mishaps. They are very punished. " Below the story was updated with photos taken by one of our Tierra del Fuego paparazzi : Lisandro Ruiz Cardona. The arrival to Ushuaia is scheduled for today. The 40 people comprising the caravan, with all vehicles, will stay at the Arakur Hotel in that city.

Yes indeed! He looks quite tired.Do you think he should keep the beard? I'm on the fence about that. James' looks similar. I think Richard must be shaving. I would imagine they are all tired I know I'd be after driving for two weeks on some some rough roads, sleeping in strange beds, eating foreign food and then doing some shopping. I like the stubble, but not a fan of beards. I don't think Jeremy will keep a beard he's always going on about beardy, sandal wearing, organic free trade lentil eating, Guardian reading types Richard seems to grow what I like to call a "Richard's evil twin" goatee on these trips Looks like James is having a smoke in the SUV That vase looks like something a footballer would have in his Cheshire gated mansion. It also reminds me of those cellophane cone bags of candy corn I see in the stores at this time of year patagoniad.com/2014/09/28/graban-escenas-de-top-gear-en-punta-arenas/

An English journalist traveled the country in a car with the license plate "Falklands" 01/10/14 El Porsche con que el periodista inglés Jeremy Clarkson recorre la Patagonia, y su polémica patente: H982 FKL. The Porsche with the British journalist Jeremy Clarkson travels Patagonia, and its license plate controversy: H982 FKL.Natasha Niebieskikwiat Son muchas las coincidencias. "Argentina. In a hotel bar. I am going to fvcking live here" ("Argentina. En un bar de hotel. Puta, yo voy a vivir aquí"). An English journalist traveled the country in a car with the license plate "Falklands" It is the famous BBC motorist, Jeremy Clarkson. He toured Patagonia filming his program in a Porsche plated "H982 FKL".There are many coincidences. Almost thirty years later maintains the air of its successful program Top Gear, broadcast by the BBC, the super famous motorist and British journalist Jeremy Clarkson was given the "luxury" of crossing Patagonia, Argentina with a Porsche that carried provocative license plate "H982 FKL". Obviously neither residents nor authorities paid great attention in the South to this identification: a reference to the war of 1982 and the "Falkland Islands", as British and kelpers call the Malvinas. When everyone thought that Clarkson had already left the country, the site Autoblog.com.ar reported today that the Caravan is Monday in Tierra del Fuego. Ushuaia would be the end of the crossing of two weeks. This episode of Top Gear took luxury cars from the hotel Llao Llao (Bariloche), to Tierra del Fuego, nationalist ground and "malvinera" due to its proximity to the Islands (the province that included the Islands by Constitution) and its proximity to the war with the United Kingdom. According to Autoblog, traveled the route 40 and crossed twice to Chile. The Porsche H982 FKL led the caravan. And he said the program will be aired by the BBC2 in March 2015. The unique and provocative journey of Clarkson, 54 years old, hardly had an impact in Patagonia, but had a spicy crossing with the newspaper The Mirror. This media published an article which they claimed that the BBC authorities had ordered Clarkson to avoid any diplomatic clash between his country and Argentina. Indeed the issue is highly sensitive for the Argentines. Moreover, given the present situation, the laws boycotting British flags such as the Patagonian provinces adopted-the standard called "Gaucho Rivero" - Clarkson would have had problems, no doubt. But the journalist replied to The Mirror via Twitter to "fvck off". Took pictures looking quiet in the Patagonian landscapes and even risked another picture of only bottles of wine, rum and beer cans/tins captioned. "Argentina. In a hotel bar. I am going fvcking to live here". Clarkson, whose program has a huge audience, often causing controversies in the places in which he recorded his show. Now, Ushuaia has not been allowed to see. www.clarin.com/politica/Malvinas-Islas_Falkland-Reino_Unido-Argentina-soberania-guerra-periodista_0_1222078261.html

The numbers and letters make clear reference to the Falkland Islands (FKL by Falklands) and 982, for the year in which the war was developed in 1982. The program is issued by the prestigious BBC chain of London and is labeled as one of the most important in the field. The presence of this patent was seen as a provocation by Argentines who had the opportunity to see the team working in different cities in patagonia, finally in Ushuaia, Tierra del Fuego.
With rear-wheel drive, good power V8 engines and without electronic aids, Jeremy Clarkson's Porsche 928 GT, James May's Lotus Esprit V8 and Richard Hammond's Ford Mustang Mach 1 spent much of the afternoon trying to climb up the slope tracks to record the final scenes at the top of a hill. There was a track on the packed snow where the cars had a race. Vehicles were kept in the Ski Center's shed/barn last night and today will continue the recordings. Reservations at the hotel in Ushuaia are scheduled until Sunday, October 5th. Meanwhile, yesterday in Buenos Aires two antagonistic - Clarín and the official media agency Telam - gave their own interpretation on a detail that Autoblog revealed ten days ago: Clarkson's Porsche carries the license plate "H982 FKL", which can be interpreted as "1982 Falklands".
*The filming of the special program Top Gear in Patagonia had an abrupt end today when a picketing group of Falklands/Malvinas veterans forced the suspension of the recording of the final scenes in the ski resort of Cerro Castor/Beaver Hill . The group left for Punta Arenas, Chile. Those who were more complicated to get the cars were. According to what Autoblog , Clarkson's Porsche, James May's Lotus Esprit V8 and Richard Hammond's Ford Mustang Mach I were stored in a reservoir of Cerro Castor, unable to cross the picket line. 'Top Gear' crew escorted out of Argentina province
Oct. 2, 2014 10:52 PM EDT BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — A crew from the popular BBC television program "Top Gear" has left an Argentine province after being denied permission to film by local authorities who said one of its cars had a license plate alluding to the Falklands War between Britain and the South American country. Juan Manuel Romano, secretary of social development for Ushuaia in southern Tierra del Fuego province, said the program's crew and its host Jeremy Clarkson were escorted to the airport. "They have taken the decision to leave," he said. The "Top Gear" crew was in Argentina to film using three cars, a Porsche, a Lotus and a Mustang. Local officials said the Porsche had the license plate "H982 FKL," which they felt was a reference to the 1982 war between the countries over the Falklands Islands. Argentina, which lost the war, still claims the island group it calls Las Malvinas. A group of former Argentine combatants in the war had held a protest in front of the hotel where Clarkson and the BBC crew were staying. The British newspaper The Telegraph said the BBC denied the license plate was intentionally chosen. "Top Gear production purchased three cars for a forthcoming programme; to suggest that this car was either chosen for its number plate, or that an alternative number plate was substituted for the original is completely untrue," BBC executive producer Andy Wilman was quoted as saying. In 2011, the BBC apologized to Mexico over remarks made on "Top Gear" that characterized Mexicans as lazy and oafish. bigstory.ap.org/article/6d38cad0382b48658b02031ad2448a07/top-gear-crew-escorted-out-argentina-province Jeremy Clarkson 'stoned' as Top Gear crew abandon cars and flee Argentina
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and Richard May flee Argentina under police escort after locals stone cars and Top Gear crew in a row over a Porsche number plate The Top Gear cars, including Jeremy Clarkson's Porsche with the controversial Falklands number plate removed, in a garage in Argentina. Photo:Autoblog Argentina By Camilla Turner 10:36AM BST 03 Oct 2014 Jeremy Clarkson and his Top Gear team were forced to abandon their cars and flee Argentina three days early as they were pelted with stones following a number plate controversy. The crew were given an ultimatum by local Falklands war veterans to leave or "face the consequences". They had provoked anger by using a Porsche with the registration number H982 FKL, which politicians and army veterans suggested could be seen to refer to the Falklands conflict. Mr Clarkson's Porsche was abandoned by the side of the road along with the Lotus and Ford Mustang used by his co-presenters after they came under attack from locals. Initially, the cars were thought to have been left behind in storage after Clarkson and his Top Gear team were warned to leave Tierra del Fuego. However, it emerged on Friday that the production crew abandoned the damaged vehicles at a police checkpoint on route to Chile after locals stoned them near the town of Tolhuin. Film crew reportedly told officers at the first checkpoint they reached after passing through Tolhuin: "We're leaving the cars, we don't want more problems. Burn them if you want but we're getting out of here." An Argentinian technician hired for the Top Gear shoot is said to have been injured after a stone thrown by one of the demonstrators hit him in the face. The BBC confirmed that the cast and crew had left the country, but Top Gear producers insisted the plate had not been chosen deliberately and was a pure coincidence. Local councillor Juan Manuel Romano said the digits 269 on the number plate of the Ford Mustang Mustang Richard Hammond was driving were close to the 255 Britons killed during the 1982 war. He added that the numbers 646 on James May's Lotus could be taken as a reference to the 649 Argentinian casualties. Local war veteran association member Osvaldo Hilliar, referring to the Falklands by their Spanish name, said: "Our position from the outset was to demand the withdrawal of the TV team from our province, which includes the Malvinas, by 8pm on Thursday, with the warning we'd organise a demonstration to reject their provocation if not. "What they did was an offence that through no coincidence was committed in the capital of the Malvinas, without any regard to local feeling about this cause. Clarkson's Porsche was given permission to enter Argentina by the country's Foreign Affairs ministry. He flew into Buenos Aires on September 17 before heading to the ski resort of Bariloche to start a 1,350 mile filmed trek along the country's famous Patagonian Highway - route 40 - to the world's southernmost city of Ushuaia. The controversy over his number plate erupted as he neared the city. Local government chief Sergio Araque said: "We share the opinion of the Ushuaia War Veterans Association, that this was intentional provocation by the Top Gear team, and agreed that they should leave Tierra del Fuego province by yesterday/Thursday afternoon. "We provided two police cars to escort them to the border with Chile and asked the Director of Borders to corroborate that they had left the same night." The executive producer of Top Gear, Andy Wilman, said: "Top Gear production purchased three cars for a forthcoming programme; to suggest that this car was either chosen for its number plate, or that an alternative number plate was substituted for the original is completely untrue." Mr Clarkson is no stranger to controversy. In 2012 the Indian High Commission in London formally complained to the BBC about an India special in which Mr Clarkson travelled round the country in a Jaguar with a toilet fixed to the boot. In August Ofcom ruled he deliberately used racist language when he referred to an Asian man as a 'slope' during Top Gear's Burma special. A spokesman from the BBC said: "No comment right now". www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/top-gear/11137879/Jeremy-Clarkson-stoned-as-Top-Gear-crew-abandon-cars-and-flee-Argentina.html
