Jeremy Clarkson Promises Top Gear Fans Live Tour Will Be Their Best YetJeremy Clarkson says after "many years of practice”, the live tour will be their best yet as they rename the Top Gear tour the Clarkson, Hammond and May Live eventClarkson, Hammond and May filming for their Live Show Photo: Charlie Gray By Anita Singh, Arts and Entertainment Editor 7:00AM BST 07 May 2015 Jeremy Clarkson has promised Top Gear fans that his live tour with Richard Hammond and James May will be their best live performance yet after “many years of practice”. The Top Gear Live tour has been stripped of all branding and renamed Clarkson, Hammond and May Live, following Clarkson’s sacking and the decision by his two colleagues not to renew their contracts with the BBC motoring show. In an interview to promote the tour, which opens in Belfast on May 22, Clarkson said: “After many years of practice, it’s a good show now.” He said the trio were going on the road to make their fans happy – a reminder that the BBC infuriated viewers by sacking Clarkson and pulling the show from the air, prompting one million people to sign a protest petition. Richard Hammond and Jeremy Clarkson filming for their Live Show (Charlie Gray)“People are appreciative of [the live show] and when it’s over say, ‘That was good fun,’” he said, adding with tongue in cheek: “All those people who want to come genuinely go away with hope in their hearts. We’re uplifting. It’s almost spiritual.” He joked: “People think that in order to sell tickets and go and do arena shows, you’ve got to have white teeth and bouffant hair, which of course Richard does have. “But James and I are again a reassurance to the audience that it’s ok, you can still do it even if you’re a bit fat and you look 20 years older than you actually are.” May said he was looking forward to performing with his colleagues again. “It’s very different doing a live show. When you’re recording television, you always have the knowledge that things can be taken out. James May filming for their Live Show (Charlie Gray)“But in a live show things can’t be unseen or unheard, so you’ve got to get it roughly right. I find that exciting because it’s slightly risky.” Hammond added: “If any three people are thrown together, they need to compensate for one another’s flaws, and there have never been three more flawed people.” BBC executives are currently searching for a new presenting line-up in order to keep Top Gear going. Jodie Kidd, the former model, Philip Glenister, the Life on Mars actor, and Guy Martin, the motorbike racer and television presenter, are said to be the frontrunners. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/bbc/11587898/Jeremy-Clarkson-promises-Top-Gear-fans-live-tour-will-be-their-best-yet.html

Jeremy Clarkson and James May look forward to South Yorkshire ‘homecoming’ at Sheffield showClarkson, Hammond and May Live is coming to Sheffield next monthThursday 07 May 2015 Jeremy Clarkson says James May and himself are looking forward to their South Yorkshire homecoming as their arena tour visits Sheffield next month. Clarkson, who grew up in Doncaster, and May, who is from Rotherham, will be at the Motorpoint Arena with Richard Hammond between June 5 and 7. The shows were originally Top Gear Live, but have been rebranded after Clarkson’s recent sacking from the BBC show. Clarkson said he still ‘completely’ feels a connection with his Yorkshire roots. He said: “You don’t really lose the sense of where you’re from. Mick Jagger still knows he’s from Dartford. “James also grew up in Rotherham, so it’ll be a homecoming of sorts for the two of us, and we shall mock Hammond mercilessly.” Highlights of the arena show, which will not be using clips from Top Gear or performances from The Stig, will include the world’s largest ‘Cage of Death’, where seven motorcyclists use centrifugal force to circle the inside of a giant globe and a driving sequence featuring two custom built BMW M3s covered in over 600 metres of LED lighting. The visit to Sheffield is part of a world tour that had been put in doubt by Mr Clarkson’s sacking from the BBC show. A spokesman for Brand Events said at the time the compromise to remove BBC branding but allow the performances to continue under a new name was a ‘great solution for the fans’. A spokesman said: “The fans are the most important people to Jeremy, Richard and James so we’re delighted to be able to say ‘we’re still coming’. We’re sure it’ll be something you won’t want to miss.” To book tickets, visit www.livenation.co.uk.

Jeremy Clarkson and former Top Gear stars reunite to film for tourJeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May spotted in outlandish costumes amid rumours that they are in talks with ITV
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May seen in London filmingBy Camilla Turner 5:30PM BST 08 May 2015 Former Top Gear stars, Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, have been filming in the East End of London for their upcoming tour. The tour will be stripped of all BBC and Top Gear branding and will instead be called Clarkson, Hammond and May Live. Beginning in Belfast later this month, the trio will travel to Sheffield, then Johannesburg, Norway, Melbourn, Sydney and finally London. “People are appreciative of [the live show] and when it’s over say, ‘That was good fun,’” he said, adding with tongue in cheek: “All those people who want to come genuinely go away with hope in their hearts. We’re uplifting. It’s almost spiritual.” Jeremy Clarkson seemed to be doing all his own stuntsClarkson, Hammond and May, along with executive producer Andy Wilman, visited the home of channel director Peter Fincham in West London on Wednesday, the Mirror claimed. ITV has previously said that it had "no plans" to enter negotiations with Clarkson after he was dropped from Top Gear for punching producer Oisin Tymon in a row over hot food. The broadcaster is thought to have shifted its position when co-presenters May and Hammond declared that they would also be leaving the programme following Clarkson's sacking. The BBC will still effectively be paying Clarkson for the tour, as his contract for the shows is with a company which is 50 per cent owned by BBC Worldwide, the Corporation's commercial arm. BBC Worldwide said it had reached the compromise for the sake of the thousands of fans who had already bought tickets. The first of the shows will be in Belfast on May 22. BBC executives are currently searching for a new presenting line-up in order to keep Top Gear going. Jodie Kidd, the former model, Philip Glenister, the Life on Mars actor, and Guy Martin, the motorbike racer and television presenter, are said to be the frontrunners. www.telegraph.co.uk/news/bbc/11593296/Former-Top-Gear-stars-reunited-to-film-for-tour.html

They're back! Top Gear trio up to their old tricksBy BECKY FREETH FOR MAILONLINE PUBLISHED: 12:36, 12 May 2015 | UPDATED: 15:47, 12 May 2015 The countdown is on for the big Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May reunion - and it looks like they're carrying on exactly where they left off with Top Gear. A promotional video for their forthcoming live tour will whet the appetite for their army of devoted fans, showing a typically hilarious stunt orchestrated by leader of the gang Clarkson involving a crane, a piano hoisted high in the air and a classic car lying in its path. The close-knit trio stuck together when the BBC recently dropped Clarkson from the Top Gear line-up after a series of controversies - and Clarkson has spoken about their unusual chemistry, comparing it to mixing chorizo with poached eggs... 'but it works'. Eleven days ahead of the tour's start, Clarkson has thanked his Top Gear mates' unique characters for their very watchable 'chemistry' as they unveil a sneak peek into the shows. 'We're very lucky with the chemistry,' Jeremy, 55, said. 'Over a period of time we realised we're very different and that works very, very well. It's like one of those chorizo sausages with a poached egg. Who knew that would go together? 'Or poached egg and avocado on toast - who knew that would be a good idea? The shallot on its own is awful, but when you put it with an oyster and some Tabasco sauce, it's delicious. 'You couldn't possibly have told when you chose a shallot and an oyster and some Tabasco sauce that it would work.' Anticipating his relationship with the two boys on the road, Clarkson said: 'It is nice to be away with James and Richard. 'It's a very good group of people. We all get along jolly well. It's really, really good fun. It's a good way of people seeing accidents without looking on YouTube.' The show, which will kick off at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast on May 22, is set to include plenty of stunts, pyrotechnics and explosions. Asked about the motoring superfans, May added: 'Occasionally they want to talk about cars, but actually not as much as you’d expect because they’ve probably worked out by now that we don’t really know what we’re talking about. 'They want to take pictures with us. Van drivers come up with lots of really original comments out of the windows of vans. I don’t know what it is about people driving vans that makes them so funny, but they might as well take over the show.' www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-3077975/VIDEO-EXCLUSIVE-look-Clarkson-Hammond-former-Gear-trio-reunite-Live-tour-discuss-winning-chemistry.html

Top gear? Not quite as scruffy Clarkson, Hammond and May roll into Belfast ahead of Odyssey showsBy Joanne Sweeney and Sherna Noah – 22 May 2015 Watch out Belfast - Jeremy Clarkson is in town! While the Prince of Wales was in the city yesterday as part of his four-day visit to Ireland, the prince of motoring television arrived with a little less pomp and ceremony. The former Top Gear presenter is here for five live shows at the Odyssey that run from today through until Sunday. The Belfast shows, which to fans' relief were not cancelled after his departure from the BBC in March, will kick off a six-month UK tour of the former Top Gear Live show - renamed Clarkson, Hammond and May. Earlier, Clarkson told radio presenter Chris Evans that he was looking forward to "six months clowning around doing live shows" but called it "the most badly organised world tour in history". "Somebody needs an Atlas, somebody has done it by alphabet... I'm going to spend most of the next six months with James, who's extremely smelly, and Richard on an aeroplane," he said. He added that the production was Top Gear in all but name. "It's broadly the same thing it's been for 10 years," he said. The 55-year-old arrived in Belfast with his fellow former Top Gear presenters James May and Richard Hammond. After keeping Press photographers waiting for more than an hour due to their flight from London being delayed, the stars strode out from one of three silver Range Rovers before stopping briefly for photographs. While Clarkson waved his hand in acknowledgment, he said nothing to the waiting photographers and onlookers and continued to speak into a mobile phone. The reticence of the star, whose Top Gear contract was ended for his part in a fracas with producer Oisin Tymon, was in contrast to the open, upbeat interview he gave Evans. The radio presenter was once tipped as a possible replacement for him on Top Gear. Clarkson refused to criticise the BBC, saying some very "talented people" worked there. A passer-by views a billboard for the Top Gear show in BelfastHe told fellow petrolhead, Evans, he could work with the BBC again, because although his contract was not renewed, he was "not sacked, remember". He said: "It's my own silly fault so I can hardly complain. I was at the BBC for 27 years, in the current incarnation for 12 and Top Gear was very much my baby. I absolutely adored it and paid attention to absolutely every little detail of it and then suddenly you are not asked to do that any more and you do feel there's a big hole that needs to be filled." www.belfasttelegraph.co.uk/entertainment/news/top-gear-not-quite-as-scruffy-clarkson-hammond-and-may-roll-into-belfast-ahead-of-odyssey-shows-31243222.html
