I think we all have similar feelings about suddenly feeling 14 as far as this man is concerned (I said something on those lines to a friend and she rather spikily said, "Yes, but you're not 14 any more, are you?" and things were frosty for a while!). bet all of us on the JMB had that 'carcrash moment' when we suddenly realised the way we felt. That was rather uncharitable of your friend to react like that Dit! Life is way too short to be sensible and serious all the time! I would say my "car crash" with James was more like in slow motion as he kinda crept up on me!

*Carry me away to the NC please... NOW* There's only one problem with that, mayb - any tenuous grasp of sanity or maturity you may have had left will fly out of the window, never to return! I think we all have similar feelings about suddenly feeling 14 as far as this man is concerned (I said something on those lines to a friend and she rather spikily said, "Yes, but you're not 14 any more, are you?" and things were frosty for a while!). The song lyric I use as my signature refers to a man being 'a car crash in my psyche' - something totally unexpected and dramatic, and also unwanted (at first), and I bet all of us on the JMB had that 'carcrash moment' when we suddenly realised the way we felt. Sounds as if you have a sensible OH who feels unthreatened! The NC is a good place to loiter, but watch yourself - you may never come out! You are so right, in every way. And in one way, I think: Oh, sod it, just enjoy the feeling. On the other hand I think: OMG is this perhaps my own midlife crisis? (Do women "do" midlife crisis anyway?) OH is more than sensible and OK with it - he thinks it is sweet. He teases me with it and always says I should go and visit, as you never know what might happen. He thinks I am gorgeous, whereas I find myself "OK", and he is convinced that James would think I am a nice, gorgeous woman as well. And that we would get along just fine. He is not jealous at all, because he knows I would never leave him for anybody. And he is right about that. This makes him a wonderful, wonderful man, of course. I love him dearly. And yet, I do have all these mixed up strange feelings about a man I do not even know.... phweuh... And it has nothing to do with him being on telly or being famous. I would react the same if I'd seen him walking on the street. If James read this, 1.) I would hide away never to be seen again in public 2.) he would probably think I am a total fruitcake as well. I don't blame him, I would react the same if I were him, ha ha ha ha. I am sane, though. No really, I am. Last time I was checked, I passed all tests

That song lyric is just perfect. This whole "crush" thing was so unlooked-for. And mayb, yes, a woman can have a mid-life crisis which, just like her male counterpart's, can result in the purchase of an expensive car. ;D

No need to hide, mayb, it's well documented that James is very fond of fruitcake You're in excellent company on the board. In an odd sort of way I think we'd all say it's nice to feel 14 again (although speaking for myself, I wake up some days feeling like I'm 100... Good thing the board's here to bring me back to reality!) ;D

And then there are those of us who aren't anywhere near "mid-life" and are therefore, in one sense, even more mad than those who are and should know better than to perve on admire James. He's old enough to be my Dad yet...I dunno. Well, actually, I do. ;D I'm amazed that I'm still here after all this time.

A serious case of: "Come to daddy....." ;D I've always been attracted to slightly older men, 11 years older is great I think. All those young puppy-boys don't do it for me.

I find it fascinating that this board is full of women in love with James May, yet everyone is civil to one another. In real life, two women in love with the same man would be instant enemies!

I think the closest we get to jealousy around here is of those who have had the chance to meet James. ;D

I've had a crush on Steven Tyler since I was 12 and a crush on Alan Rickman since I was 15. They're both 66 now I believe so that would make them 31 years older than me. Definitely old enough to be my dad. That it is why it is amazing to me that I am so in love with James. He's a young 'ne for my tastes. He's only what 14 years older than me. So I guess, technically, biologically, he is old enough to be my father but in all practicality he isn't really. My best friend still makes fun of me for being a "grandpa lover" though. But I don't care! I know we Mayhemers have exceptional taste! ;D A serious case of: "Come to daddy....." ;D I've always been attracted to slightly older men, 11 years older is great I think. My "Car crash" happened the first time I heard him say "becuz". few years back, and not on Top Gear: first it wuz James May's Big Ideas, then Toy stories, then Twentieth Century and last of all I thought "I have to watch Top Gear becuz James is on it." So I did, and never looked back.

So I did, and never looked back. My "fall" was kind of interesting. I discovered Top Gear on BBCA and started watching it. After a month or two I decided I liked it so much that I wanted to see all the episodes that I had missed. I found a site on line that had a lot of the episode on it and started watching them. Then one day it just hit me like a huge, incredibly strong, knock me over kind of slap in the face that James May is incredibly sexy! And it has continued ever since. I've gotten everything with him in it that I can. If anything, my "crush" has gotten stronger not weaker.

I wouldn't kick Alan Rickman out of my bed either ;D Is he really 66 years old now? *does some maths* Ow.... that's right, he is.... Gosh.... Haven't thought about that. I've always had a thing for slightly older men, my first love was 10 years older than me. So that proves a lot I guess. OH is only 2 years older, Must say everybody was really surprised I ended up with someone my own age. I never had a relationship with a younger man, let alone my own age. And I think that everyone gets along so well here, is because everybody is very much aware that James is totally out of our league Personally, If I were single and if I had a chance with James... (that means he being single as well and him being interested in me as well ) I would go for him and bite everybody's head off ;D

Everybody has a little chuckle at my desk at work. They call it my "May Fetish" When they say "Do you fancy James May?" I reply "Yeah, He's a dish" I leave it at that. There's normally a smirk, but that's about it. I cannot see what the big thing is. He's flippin gorgeous! An elder chap (19 years and 4 days my elder to be exact) who is just so shaggable. I mean, come on.... Phwargh..... I'm off on one again oooh errrrrr don't panic, don't panic!!!!!!

I love this place! We can say we fancy James and no one thinks we're crazy. I have noticed there is a huge age range. That is really cool coz James is a man for all ages. I happen to be older than him by 7 years. But then I've always liked younger guys. In fact my husband is 21 years younger than me and we've been married 12 years now. He knows about my obsession and just smiles he knows I only LOVE him. If I ever met James I would say "hi" and just go on my way.
