I'm watching something on BBC2 that's actually getting me quite annoyed. It's called "The Toys That Made Christmas" and it's all about - well, let me quess. Scalextric, Meccano, Dinky toys etc., etc.... think you've been here before? Yep, every programme James has ever made about toys. This version has Robert Webb presenting and various B-list celebrities talking about their favourite toys and old footage of childhood toys.
If I was James I must admit I'd feel pretty fed up of my ideas being, to put it politely, 'borrowed'.

I saw that toys show adevertised and I'm surprised the BBC picked it up after all the things James has done. I refused to watch as I would just compare it to something that will have been properly researched and already done.
We'll have a "version" of Manlab from someone else before long!

top gear the north pole special with brother. Oddly enough, I have just watched that today too. PLUS... it was Chris's choice. As if I would say "no" to James looking rugged in a tent.... Now watching "The Trip" with Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon. Love it!

Sherlock. Was. Stunning. Absolutely astonishing.
I adore programmes that really force me to think (which is why I watch so little TV really) and Sherlock is so quick, so subtle, so demanding that it really satisfies.
"Brainy is the new sexy." Remember this.

Remember this. Currently watching that at the moment. I've waited way too fricking long for a new episode of this. Really enjoying it so far.

BBCAmerica Top Gear marathon all day, Jeremy's driving the R8 to Edinburgh and back on one tank of gas. I like the one.
The new Treasure Island was on Sky last night, going to see if it's on Graboid, second episode to night.

Remember this. OK...so why couldn't they find the boomerang? Surely it would've stopped when it bounced off his head and would be lying nearby? And why was the dead guy at the beginning in the boot of the car instead of on the plane - you know, THE plane? Did I miss the explanation for that? I'm obviously not very sexy. I could watch it again on I-player, but I keep falling asleep and missing bits. Maybe I'll try again now.

I just watched the latest Sherlock. As I was mentioning in a pm earlier today, the cinematography was brilliant, the writing wonderfully crafted, the acting superb. It was Irene Adler that I took exception to. I didn't have a problem with the character or the woman playing her, it was the character's name. She was not Irene Adler.
I have always been a purist when it comes to Sherlock Holmes and the Doyle canon. The only productions that have come close to Doyle's stories were the Jeremy Brett ones. He was magnificent as Holmes. So I was skeptical when this new series began. I watched the first episode and was so pleasantly surprised, I had to watch the next one. And the next one. The crafting of this series was marvelous.
But they truly should not have called this woman, Irene Adler. She was a woman who bested Holmes, yes, but the depiction they chose for Irene felt so alien to Doyle's Character. They do a wonderful job with Sherlock and Watson and even Lestrade at times. But Adler... no.
And the boomerang floated away down stream.
I am very excited about how they are going to treat The Hound of the Baskervilles this weekend. ;D

Yes, I watched again on I-player and picked that up. However, still no explanation for why the bloke in the boot missed his "flight", even though he was found with things from the plane on him. Just a wee loose thread.
