I think it's called the Seed Moon but I shall have a look. Certainly was very big and full last night.

Wind Moon
In April, the thunderstorms of March are beginning to subside, and the wind picks up. Seeds are being blown about on the breezes, spreading life all around from one place to the next. In fact, this lunar cycle is often known as the Seed Moon. Trees have buds on them, spring daffodils and tulips abound, and the birds are nesting once more. Much like March, this is a time of conception and fertility and new growth.
Correspondences: Colors: Bright primary colors -- red, yellow, blue -- and their combinations Gemstones: Quartz, selenite, angelite Trees: Hazel, forsythia, lilac, willow Gods: Ishtar, Tawaret, Venus, Herne, Cernunnos Herbs: Dandelion, milkweed, dogwood, fennel, dill Element: Air

The full moon last night was beautiful. I got out my Grandad's old sport binoculars and had a bloody goo look. It had a beautiful ornage glow to it here last night, don't know of that happened to any of you or not and it was on the far side of the Lough above all the twinkly lights that lead up to the City airport. It just looked magnificant. I love the moon, it's captivating. And I know you are all probably going to think I am mad for saying this but I have always wanted to hug the moon. I know it isn't possible but hey, a girl can dream, can't she?

I actually got a bit 'wooshy' over the moon last night and posted this on the other MB I am a member of. They all know I am odd anyway. have just been looking out my window at the moon, it is so big and full and gorgeous tonight and here, it has a beautiful ornage glow to it. I was looking at it through my Grandad's old Sport Binoculars and it got me thinking. We live in this giant sky, surrounded by atmosphere and wonderment and we are part of this giant cosmos, surrounded by billions of galaxies and it is only by a pure fluke or chance that we are on the earth to appreciate it at all. I genuinely believe that aliens do exist and it is us, the humans. We are only here by chance/accident, whatever you want to call it, so we have to be the 'odd ones out' in the solar system. Appreciate it people, it's gorgeous and magnificant and the moon is one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen in my life. I love it! *hugs the moon*

It's a Corn Moon tonight and also a lunar eclipse.
In late August, we celebrate the beginning of the Corn Moon. This moon phase is also known as the Barley Moon, and carries on the associations of grain and rebirth that we saw back at Lammastide. August was originally known as Sextilis by the ancient Romans, but was later renamed for Augustus (Octavian) Caesar.
Correspondences:
Colors: Yellow, red, orange Gemstones: Tigers eye, carnelian, garnet, red agate Trees: Cedar and hazel Gods: Vulcan, Mars, Nemesis, Hecate, Hathor, Thoth Herbs: Rosemary, basil, rue, chamomile Element: Fire Harness some of the Corn Moon's fiery energy for your ritual and spell work. This is a good time to focus on your spiritual and physical health. It's the time to harvest what you can now to put aside for later use. What sacrifices can you make today that will benefit you further down the road?
Also Known As: Barley Moon
