James likes the moon too... ;D www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/main.jhtml?xml=/motoring/2007/11/03/mrmay03.xml#comments James was going to recite a poem about the moon in the African episode...but Hamster didn't want to hear it ...this prompted much speculation on which poem James was referring to...he comments in his Telegraph column confirm which one it was..... "The Larkin poem I had in mind was 'Lunar', which I think goes something like: The Moon is full tonight and hurts the eyes It is so definite and bright What if it has drawn up all quietness and certitude of worth Wherewith to mint a second moon, a paradise? For they are gone from Earth. The other one I offered up was one by the recently departed Ivor Cutler: Flick the blind and look at the moon, The big round moon like a piece of soap. It washes the daylight out of your eyes, And fills them with night-time. Hope that helps Posted by James May on November 5, 2007 8:21 PM" (Telegraph comments)

Beautiful cold late November evening. 16.20 one of our Housing & Public Health Officers comes into General Admin to inform us that there is a full moon rising alongside the clock tower of our building (a handsome 1934 built art deco) so i said i'd go with him to look. We are on the 2nd floor & there's a "bridge" which connects the old part & the new (1970s). Basically it's a walkway with just window glass on each side providing a spectacular view (when one has time to stop & see) of Swansea Bay & Victoria Park. Anyway, not only did we get the bright full moon by the tower through the left side of the glass but through the right & descending over the Bay we have the last russet rays of the winter sun.

I was walking the doggies as the full moon came up and it was beautiful. We get hardly any light pollution up here so the clear night skies are always worth a look. My neighbours must think I'm a mad woman cos when I let the dogs out at bedtime, I often stand in the garden, staring at the stars. They fascinate me and I always think of Stargate (one of my fave progs) ;D

Sorry for my ignorance, Inky, but i know you're from oop North. Whereabouts are we talking? About 15 yrs ago we took a holiday in the Lake District & on the way up we stopped not far from there for the night in a layby with all the lorries. It was a clear night & it was the first time i'd seen so many stars so clearly in the sky I assumed it was because we were quite high up

It is a beautiful part of the country. That's why I upped sticks from Leeds and came over here When I first started coming over here to stay with my mate, Margaret I couldn't believe how many shooting stars I saw. They are the most fantastic things when you see them as they occur

I've seen a few shooting stars but only where i'm from. Have really enjoyed the hols we've had in Cumbria and Yorkshire. Went to York. Brill. Had lovely chips in a part of Yorkshire beginning with D (sorry memory) & remember Mum complimenting the girl serving our table on her accent. Back to the moon, though. One of my work colleagues said there's not supposed to be a full moon this week. It should've happened on the 9th?!

Okay I've "borrowed" some moon information.... ;D "Eclipses can cause shake-ups, but usually only where we've been resisting change.
Full moon eclipses, in particular, can be tricky because they're often about letting go - not something we humans tend to find easy to do. They are (to quote US astrologer Eric Francis) "when the universe changes gear".
If you know you need to let go and move on from a person, a situation or an idea, then this is the week to do it. Really.
Here's a brief rundown on where change is forecast in all the signs. For many, the change will already be in progress, as we often feel eclipses before they actually hit. Aries: Your daily routines.
Taurus: Where a child, romance or creative project is concerned.
Gemini: At home.
Cancer: In the way you communicate regarding your neighbourhood and/or a sibling.
Leo: Financially.
Virgo: Your whole life!
Libra: Your spirituality.
Scorpio: Your friends.
Sagittarius: At work.
Capricorn: Your whole view of life.
Aquarius: Money and/or sex.
Pisces: Your love life.Good luck!

Sorreeeee! Only meant to be a guide! Think of it in the positive, not the scary negative! Maybe you'll get promoted at work Glam and maybe you'll buy/move house Lew - haven't you been talking about moving house? Uh oh....I'm planting seeds of thought again.... ;D
