I suspect they've done something that involved driving quite a long way today. If James is still struggling with his lurgy and is completely knackered on top of that, he probably wasn't up to it. Either that or they attempted to make the journey in TVRs and James broke down somewhere in the Midlands or something...

Thank goodness the radio link didn't work. Boyzone torcher then no James!  That's a shame for the ladies who went I hope they don't feel too dissapointed james wasn't there. |

They did introduce him at the start (or perhaps they meant another gentleman?) maybe he did get lost/break down and they were hoping that he made it there before the switch on  It's a shame for those who traveled to see him though. Edit to add: Maybe that's why we had to sit through 58 mins of crap first? |

But Janice Thing did mention James by name at the beginning of the programme, along with the other three. So they must have been expecting him to come.

Not doing a downer on the Illuminations here, but if I was feeling rough with a bad cough/flu etc, I'd say sorry everyone but I'm not coming. I feel like crap. It's a pity for anyone if they went to just see him, but that's the way it goes. |
