Thanks for the compliments! I'm definitely getting hooked on it being a convertible and will surely miss that aspect of it come January. As to the reliability, that is a point well made and hopefully will keep my credibility level high

You can still drive it with the hood down in January.
People will laugh and point, and you will probably have to be chipped out of the driving seat with an ice pick, but it's entirely your choice. ;D

Hahahaha! Love that thought! Wonder how many sweaters I can put on before I can't move my arms to shift gears anymore?

Good for you Trustme! Always admired the mx5. I'm sure you'll get many years of pleasure from it. One day I hope to do something similar. ;D (I've been coveting an mx5 around here in metallic midnight blue with cream upholstery...v. v. nice

Congrats! I had a green Miata back in 1990-something or other. I'm sure you'll enjoy yours. Try auto-cross if you haven't.

That's one hell of a view! I love weeping willows too. I guess that's the next best thing to having a garden big enough to own one! True! Well, you and your OH, and of course Wyvern and all of our friends, are very welcome to visit as soon as my OH and I have properly settled in, so you can see the house and the view for yourselves. I do hope you will. Trustme, that's a great car! My dad has one just like it, in his case an 09 model in black, also with the hard top convertible roof. He and my mum absolutely love it, so much so that they have the roof down as much as possible, even on cold days! ;D I hope you have a fantastic time with your new car.

As I'm going to have to let my beloved Gerald go at some point (unless I win the lottery), a part of me is hoping that an MX5 will be on the horizon for me in the future - all the fun of my little Herald with far fewer drawbacks So pleased things have worked out so well for you XJ - the view from your new living room is, it has to be said, far prettier than from your old one! Really lovely - once you've settled in I'll definitely be up for a visit, if only to make sure Angel Troll gets safely returned!

Happy days for little ol' me today. Tutor has just emailed me to say I have successfully completed my management course. :-)
I really should find a proper hobby next time I look for something to keep me out of mischief of an evening.
The milky bars are on me!!!!

Congratulations, Liverbird. Does this management course lead to anything? Promotion, new job, huge wealth, dictatorship of a small country? Anything like that?

Excellent news, Liverbird! I guess now we'll all get reorganised on here, be told to optimise our opportunities and fulfil our targets. Go easy on us Boss, please?

Thank you, everyone. I might get around to organising May's Britain. This will be after he has fully "inducted" the faithful to the cause. Alas there is no promotion, new job or huge wealth attached to my achievement. When I do rule the world, I am buying a DB9

Thanks everyone, for your kind words about my new car It's a real pleasure to drive, especially as nothing's creaking and groaning on it. My old car was due for new struts and expressed its displeasure with even small bumps in the road quite loudly Well done, Liverbird! Hope you celebrated your excellent achievement in proper fashion. I like your thought about James "inducting" the faithful to the cause -- it's management skills like that that make you such a vital member of this board ;D Louize, congratulations on embarking on your new field of study! Will you miss the health care field (and its endless paperwork!)?

Thanks everyone! I'm really looking forward to go back to school and all the work it means to be a student. And yes trustme I am gonna miss the health care despite all the d*mn paperwork and despite that it feels like it's more about politics and money then actually helping people... To work with and helping people is (for me anyway) a very satisfying job. It's either that or work with children I wanna do. So when I get this great opportunity to study to be a preschool teacher I couldn't say no

!st. August - it's Yorkshire Day. I heard the declaration read out from the Market Cross in Knaresborough this morning, and, of course, I was wearing my white rose. greetings to all from God's own county.

Speaking as a half-Yorkshireite (on my dad's side), congratulations on Yorkshire Day. Unfortunately, I'm also a half Lancashire Lass (mum's side) so I'm my own built-in war of the Roses.
