That is a glorious thing Fizzy.  You're right about car prices here in OZ. Totally crazy. Which is why OH and I drive boring cars. But, we are working on it....  Yes, and you're to keep me posted on that. |

Thanks Amie8. It is a dream of ours for one of our riders to reach such heights. Usually, they start off with us, then once they reach a certain level, they are assisted by the national associations. We don't have the resources to help them find sponsors etc, which you need at that level as equestrian is such an expensive sport.

It hasn't gone anywhere yet, but my editor has just proofed my latest column and emailed me back to say that he wants to look into seeing if he can get my writing syndicated. He doesn't know what it will involve - Speedmonkey has been running for less than a year, and he runs it out of his shed when he's not working on his 'day job' - but he thinks I need a wider audience. Even if he can't make it happen, I'm chuffed that he thinks it's worth a try ;D

Wy - congratulations on the writing thing. You should maybe get some advice on how that affects you and what your rights are as the author. And, of course, if one editor thinks it's good enough, then there may be others too. Worth touting yourself around a bit maybe?
JM2 - I posted the link about Sophie Christiansen because I immediately thought of her when you mentioned riding for the disabled. I realise she's an extreme example, but such an advert for the good that riding can do. She is quite severely disabled - until she gets on her horse. Charming lady too.

Yes, very pleased, it's a very nippy little motor and very easy to drive. When you compare it with the old Fiesta's it seems huge, and it's not much smaller than our old Ford Focus.

The newest member of my family! My little cousin Savannah Grace! ;D   Her mother also has twin 4 year-old boys at home. Before they knew they were having a girl, she asked her boys what they thought the baby would be, boy or girl. They went off to confer together, then came back with a verdict... Alien!! Yup, she has her hands full! ;D ;D |
