Part of the YouTube video is on the TG transmission section, since TG did a blog on James being on the Simon Mayo show. Thanks for including both versions here. I have to say, Songs From the Big Chair (released in America in 1985) has to be one of my all time fave albums. Other than Tears For Fears, I wasn't too crazy about what was popular on the radio in 85 either, unless it was heavy metal groups.

Thanks Maygrail. But is this the audio of the interview or the YouTube video? I downloaded the file you uploaded, but I only get sound with the vlc-player and nothing at all with the flv-player.

Thank you!
I have been looking for a way to get an British IP address, but so far have only managed to install an IP scrambler that usually hands out random IP addresses from Asia. Very handy for visiting dodgy sites, but it still doesn't get me to all the BBC content.

There's no Tardis I am shocked! you learn something new everyday He'll be claiming there's no Santa next! On a vaguely related note. I forgot I'd changed the ringtone on my phone for when The Boy phones me to the Tardis noise. He called me when I was sleeping and I woke up v. confussed. I though The Doctor was coming for me.

I've just had a look at this. Call me eccentric if you wish, but I can't help liking the concept of watching a radio interview! ;D

I'm sorry but I have to say this, I can hold it in no longer: Tears for Fears' "Songs from the Big Chair" was released in 1985 and The Smiths' "The Queen is Dead" was released in June 1986, contrary to what was said on Mr. Mayo's programme. OK, I feel better now - thanks everyone. It was really bothering me. Back to Mayo: that's hilarious how James tells people he's a gynecologist. I wonder if he saw the "Dream Gynecologist" photo in our "1001 Uses for James May" thread. Then again, it's probably just so people won't ask him questions about his work. Good girl.. well done

I have a remote control Dalek. *does impression of Dalek voice* You Will Be Exterminated! Oh yeah, another fave song of mine from 85, "Don't Come Around Here No More" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers. I was so happy that they mentioned Duran Duran. The Powerstation had some good songs in 85 as well. Gynochologist, hm? *thinking dirty thoughts that can't be posted here*

I used to do stuff like that, but now at 28 i blame it on a mid life - mid life crisis and (dare i say?) you are never too old for a remote controlled anything! Someone told me i was too old for Scalextric the other day, so next pay day i am getting one

We're all big kids in our family, although sometimes, I feel like the only grown up in the house. MG, thanks for finding that YouTube. It was really funny. That guy is creative and deserves a ticket to TG. He'd have a blast, I gather.
