I forgot about Stickle Bricks! I think we had a very small set of them. I bought one of my nephews some Magnatex that glow in the dark for Christmas.
Tui, let me know when the time machines ready and we'll give it a go ;D
And of course I'll remember I need loads of assistants!

Maybe we can think of some more building materials in case we can inspire the programme makers. So, they've mentioned lego, meccano, plasticine...what else is there??? Tinker Toys and Lincoln Logs, both are great fun.

I don't think we have either of those over here. I've heard of Tinker Toys though, but what are Lincoln Logs?

My brother used to have Lincoln Logs and we both shared the Tinker Toys and Legoes. He had a meccano set, but he played with that more than I did.

This sounds like a fab series! My cousin is training to be an engineer, roads, bridges and what not, I think she would love this show!

latest news on this is that James is going to make a garden out of plasticine and it will be part of the Chelsea Flower Show (19–23 May 2009)

Although I'm convinced his plasticine garden would go really well with his Lego house, I'm not sure the two are connected. Filming for this series doesn't start until the summer.

Here community.hortweek.com/blogs/matthew/default.aspx'The RHS is looking for speakers. Get in touch if you're keen. Chris Collins, the Blue Peter gardener, who is the hort brain behind Top Gear presenter James Mays' plasticine RHS show garden, a tribute to Morph and Tony Hart. This is true. Mays is doing a top 10 toys project. You couldn't make this up.'

I'm looking into this twitter thing and searched for twitters about James. One interesting twitter came up: James was spotted today filming on Clifford Clifton Suspension Bridge. Not the place for him to be, considering his vertigo. Does anyone live near there? Anymore info? And another guy spotted him today in the reception of "Aardman". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aardman . They are famous for doing plasticine animations. ;D

Clifton Suspension Bridge. Haven't been home to Bristol in years. James is doing the rounds of my old(and not so old) stomping grounds, and getting to see Brunel's bridges in the process I suppose a structure like that is an interesting thing to look at when talking about things like Meccano. It's an incredible thing really - it was built when the only things crossing it would have been light horse-drawn vehicles and now it handles upwards of 12,000 motor vehicles a day without difficulty.

It does look lovely, the bridge, but can I ask, and forgive me if this is a stupid question, but why is the water dirty? The Thames is dirty looking too, but then again, the Medieval people did used to throw their excrement into it.
