Well, I'm back... oh what a day...
Despite the 'comedic crossing of the bridge of no return' (James' words) being four hours late, a fabulous day was had... our man was an absolute star, and kept the crowd entertained for (including a few breaks), a whole eight hours... I would have paid to be at this gig ;D

Well done Liz for getting to meet James and for taking all those great photos - that's a really nice one of you and him! Looks like you had a lovely day for it all - I was dreading it being wet and cold today for James and all the spectators. I genuinely cannot wait to see the programmes on TV!

It was an amazing day... I still can't get over how wonderful he is with the public, and none of his parts are scripted... the funniest bit was when he was announcing the delay in the crossing... some body shouted 'Tell a joke!', so he started, got halfway thro, and suddenly said 'Oh look, a bakewell tart!'... he asked who wanted it (it had been left on the ground by one of the crew), and gave it to a small boy!... we never did hear the end of the joke! ;D

BTW... I hope you noticed in my photo, in keeping with the 'Toy Story' theme, James has hired appropriate security... I wouldn't mess with 'em!

Wow I go away for a few days and miss all the action!! The actual size of the bridge surprised me - didn't think it would be that thin! But anyway, looks like it was a great day. Awesome pics, Liz! You have my envy for meeting the man.

Just having a look at your great pics, Liz. The one of you and James is lovely. One thing I have noticed are the smiles on the people watching. It must be wonderful to know that you can make people smile like that. James is a special person.

hiya- Just got back to reaading what's happened on the forum. Was too tired last night as I did get to Liverpool ,and thankfully ( for us) it hadnt all happened by noon cos we got there at 12.20. I thinkk I must have been over the opposite side to Liz , but we heard him start the joke which I think waas a lymerick which probably got a bit naughty, but the bakewell tart distracted him. But, dear ole James - his sense of geography really is bad - he said it ( the tart) was from Yorkshire!!! He'd really upset the Bakewell folk from DERBYSHIRE if they knew! I got some photos but I've never put any up on the web, and I seem to have a bad memory card, cos I got the whole walk across the bridge but so far I havent managed to retrieve it all. Liz, your photos are wonderful and I'm so pleased you got your photo with him. I was a bit worried I'd get back to the car and have a parking ticket cos I "only" put 4 hours on the car park thingy and we were late back , but bless the car park wardens , they ignored me (or didnt notice )

Hi zuniga!... you were there? Wasn't it a fantastic day?
I wasn't sure which side was best to stand on... I knew he'd be crossing from my side, so did think your side would be best so I could get shots from the front, but there were less people where I was... I just thought the whole day was fantastic, I didn't mind the delays, it just gave you more time at the event! I only hope they don't overdub his actual commentary as he crossed the bridge (apart from the odd bleep!)... so funny! ;D

Thanks MG... sorry there's two now, I had a play last night to crop one! I have another couple of bridge ones on the camera memory which I still have to upload, but it's a new camera, so bear with me... very drained today, after work, Blackpool, work, yesterday, today's the first 'day off' and lie in I've had in three weeks... worth it tho! ;D
