It's a grand and selfless gesture, ladies. Bravo to you for wanting to be there for the poor man in his hour of need.

Well, I'm afraid that I dont drink - but for James's sake I would be willing to provide and share an exceptional bottle of whisky - for inner warmth of course ;-)

Latest update from the Denbies Vineyard website: James May’s Lego House now complete! It’s official, the final bricks have been laid and the house is finished. The good news is that it will remain at Denbies for at least another week, so DO COME AND SEE IT!!! As far as Surrey real estate goes – it is out of this world!!! (photo by Alec McSimpson) I do hope the house will be moved to another location. It would be a shame if only a n handful of people got to see it.

I can't see how they would move it, short of airlifting it away with a helicopter....

I spot a new jumper! There is some info in Get Surrey today about the Lego house. Demolition will start next Tuesday, so make sure you go over there this weekend if you want to have a look. There is some mentioning that they are looking into rebuilding it elsewhere, but nothing is certain yet and there are no further details.

Badly phrased I guess. They will want to film him staying there for a couple of days and the demolition starts next Tuesday.

Well, some more publicity at least. I just wished they had mentioned the actual costs 50.000 pound for moving it. That would have given interested people a better idea. I hope they will organise a last-minute whip-round and will donate the house to eg the toy museum that also took the Plasticine Garden. But Tuesday is such a short time. Perhaps I should apply for a job at Legoland. Considering this article, they desperately need someone who knows about marketing & communication.

There's a slight chance Legoland is just playing and they'll "suddenly" find enough money to save it at the 11th hour. But this sounds so very very petty...
"No. We won't help you 'cause you didn't do it like we said. And we don't wanna be your friend any more. And you're not invited to our birthday party."

While I do hope the house will be saved, if all fails, maybe we should take heart from this comment on TopGear.com made by Escapee.

If it really does get carved up and thrown away, I hope they can save the Lego Fusker and all the other little pieces and give them out to the people who helped build and organize the thing.

It all sounds like sour grapes from Lego to me Its a real shame but do see Escapee's point. It will be imortalised forever on film and in photo's and a treasured memory for all those who were involved.

The main bit I object to is the chainsaws, as it'll ruin bricks! However, we shouldn't forget how therapeutic lego can be - it helped Richard recover, after all - or indeed how it helps to develop useful skills. I would be a very different person if I'd just had dolls instead of lego and meccano and the like, and I'm not sure I'd like that person much. Personally I'd like to see it taken apart in a more careful manner and the bricks go to charities for those with learning difficulties, brain injuries and such and to schools - where it'll be really *useful*.
