Dispatches from Behind? *giggles filthily* Glad to see those of us with an iota of common sense were right about the book being a compendium not an autobiography ;D A 'collection of journalism' gives me a great deal of hope that at least some of his wonderful travel writing will be included along with the Telegraph and Top Gear stuff. Excellent news!

I hope it's not just mainly his Telegraph columns. I've alreday read those. To make matters worse, because it's a new publisher they might even take stuff that's already been published in May on Motors and Notes from the Hard Shoulder. I like the quotes though: 'James May is the best thing ever to come out of Top Gear' (Radio Times ) Praise for James May's Magnificent Machines (- ) 'Smart, sharply written' (Guardian ) 'The most loveable of the Top Gear presenting trio . . . there's a sharp and interesting mind under the corduroy. Fascinating.' (Nottingham Evening Post )

I wish he and Jezza would write something new instead of recycling what we've already paid for once (well some of us). At least Richard has produced some original works. I won't be buying it either.

James wrote James May's 20th Century. That was an orginal work. I really hope he will one day publish his May's Manifesto. That should be pretty hilarious.

I suspect Jeremy and James's publishers churn out compendiums (compendia?) of columns because, frankly, that's what sells... For every person that moans that 'well, I've already paid for this' there are several hundred others who buy the books as a nice way of having everything together in one place, or for themselves or as gifts, and booksellers know this - the Sunday Times has a circulation of several miliion, and yet just look at how often Jezza is in the top 10 bestsellers at Christmas... For those people concerned about the price of hardbacks (and indeed books in general) and who get bored of shopping around, I highly recommend www.bookbrain.co.uk , which searches all of the well-known online booksellers for you and calculates the best value seller.

I loooooooooooooove hardback books! Much prefer them to paperbacks. It just feels like you are buying something of value and quality and worth, but it is a personal thing. *giggles like a child at dispatches from behind - I bet he would be good at that and all *

What is this title? Is it his two previous books combined into on hardback volume or is it something new altogether. I am a bit confused now.

It'll probably be a collection of writing which has been previously published in things like Car, The Telegraph and Top Gear. And hopefully stuff he's written for other publications - his travel writing, perhaps? A bit like Jeremy's books - which are collections of Sunday Times columns - but a bit more eclectic.

Hmm, the title seems to have changed to Road Rages. And note how this is a link to an audio edition.
