I just watched the beginning of this on disc and remember my very first reaction when James said, "If Oz turns out to be a very irritating person, what will I do?" or something to that effect. My first thought was, I'd leave him there if he got on my nerves that much. It's a long walk and swim back to England. Then again, James has a lot more patience than I do. One of the things I totally admire about him. Now on to the rest of the show and the rest of my cabernet. Good night, ladies.

Lovely, but the new owner might want to check out this column that James wrote about the Jag. ;D

Well if I had an odd thirty grand......I'd get one, maybe not that one, but I do have a weak spot for a XJ-S, even with the problems wonder if Mr May will live to regret the walk away decision ;D

It's been completely restored since the programme. Glad they found it in the car park, I mean James sold it back to them. ;D

I wouldn't be surprised if James bought it back now it's been restored to it's former glory. He did that with a bike once.

That's a gorgeous car. If I was in the market for a car, I'd love to have this one. I'm sure one of you might know, but I wonder if the beer/wine rack that James built is still in the boot? Just curious.

I knew I was a bit behind on the James and Oz things but I *just* saw the last episode of this series (and half of a couple before that) and thought it was great.
Cannot believe I am 4 years behind though.......whoops. Is there a dvd of this?

I'm just watching the first episode of the California series on Dave (again!) and picked up something I hadn't noticed before.
When Oz is insisting that James tries surfing, as they walk on the beach towards the water, wearing wetsuits and carrying their boards, James is muttering on about how unhappy he is at being dragged into the water. Oz then cuts across him and says, "Have you gone commando, by the way?"
Which would appear to be apropos of nothing. Unless you've seen the Shark programme.

There's some debate over the appropriate garment to wear under a wetsuit. Some prefer to go au naturale, but the prevailing wisdom is that wearing a swimsuit underneath is best to prevent rash and chafing.

Well, I never knew any of the above! Can't imagine swimming in rubber, with or without swimsuit underneath. I'm not being naughty - I just think it would be so constricting and unnatural, even when carefully designed for the purpose.
I just thought Oz's comment might have been a personal joke!

It is very unflattering though and on the occasions I have wore one, I have always threatened my mates I'd sue them to hell if they were going to take pics. ;D

Sorry to bump but I've got a James & Oz question from series 2 and hope someone can give me the answer.
In episode 6 they go into a dungeon (of sorts) and are shown how to open a bottle of champagne with a sword. James then draws a sword, looks into the camera and says something, just a word or two. Everyone is speaking at once, the subtitles give what Oz and the wine-bloke say, but what does James say? I can't make it out, and it's annoying me now!

Hey, I like a challenge, and that's one of my favourite parts of series two. *goes off to check* I've just had a look at it. He points the sword towards the camera and says "stand clear".

Thanks, XJS, I just couldn't pick it up. The subtitles are very good for these moments usually but on this occasion were no use.
I've just had a lovely thought - James, with that hair and a sword - don't you think he would look rather marvellous if he joined one of those historical re-enactment groups, like the Sealed Knot, Cavaliers and Roundheads? He'd look great in costume on a horse.
(And he does seem to find himself in dungeons rather more often than most, doesn't he?)

I'm currently (re-)watching the first series of the Big Wine Adventure and I just need to ask: Does anybody know who does the accordeon music and if that is available somewhere? Because hearing an accordeon jauntily playing "Jessica" (aka Top Gear Theme) is too bloody marvellous.
Apart from that, I would now love to have a nice glass of wine... ;D

Can't help with the accordion bit, but I'll love a glass of wine too.
Guess we'll have to adjourn to the NC. Wine shipment just in!! ;D ;D

I have just finished watching the France edition of Road Trip. Fabulous! I loved the ending. Truly did. Can't wait for Monday night when they venture to California. So glad Oz and James met up.

I've just watched it too! ;D Great series! Started on their adventure trough California a few days ago, and I think this one is much funnier, even though I've only seen two episodes so far ;D
