You may be disappointed to know that isinglass finings are mostly used in the brewing industry, so there's no getting away from it even if you're a beer drinker.
Vegetarian finings are produced from either carageenan or agar, but neither produce such a clear wine/beer as those of animal origin.

I do have to say I learned some stuff from Oz and James about wine. I love Chardonnay, so I got myself a bottle of Blue Mountain tonight. My neighbor works at a wine store off of a market, and we're allowed to wine taste there because it's not a state store. I tried a few samples, like James would. Sniff, put a little in the mouth, suck a little air in over the tongue and everyone wanted to know what I was doing. I explained but there were no Top Gear fans there, but I explained anyway how to properly taste a wine. Got everyone involved. Had a lot of fun. The Chardonnay was peppery which is why I bought it. I tried one that tasted like cinnamon and flowers. Didn't like that one. I tried one that you had to taste first and then eat a little chocolate and taste again, and a raspberry flavor was enhanced. It was a dessert wine. Very nice. As I described the wines the person who poured them said I had a good grasp of wine flavors. Glad I watched Oz and James. Learned a lot.

BBCA 5:30am March 19th James May's Road Trip (American title for Oz and James' Big Wine Adventure?) Episode 1 Series 1 (France).
You can also catch the California road trip's episodes 4 and 5 on March 10th and 17th at 5:20am also on BBCA.
Please BBCA, stop making it so hard to find my shows. Advertise them between shows or at the very least put them in your "shows" list under the "currently airing" section of your web site. How am I supposed to find them?
EDIT: Sorry, times are Eastern and Pacific.

BBCA really does a disservice to James and to Top Gear. I get so annoyed with them. That's why I just bought the DVD's. They're region coded, but I can watch them on my computer.

Why are these programs put on at such ridiculous times? Could they not fit them in some time during the day? I mean, yesterday they played Kitchen Nightmares the whole day! Is that really necessary?

I Know! I no longer watch BBCA week day mornings because it's become nothing more then the Gordon Ramsay channel.

At least you can get BBC.. here all you can watch are German channels... and every film you are trying to watch is spoken in German.... it drives me mad! I never watch TV here, I only watch DVD's and/or BBC television on my computer, which I am officially not allowed to, but I found a way (Don't tell anybody) I really hate German programmes, the Germans do not posess any sense of humour nor taste. And I simply refuse to watch a programme that does not include someone's original voice. I find it very disrespectful

I do this to. I subscribe to a proxy server. I asked my hubby (who is a software engineer and so knows about computer stuff) if it is legal and he said that it is "a grey area". So he's cool with it. ;D

The DVD for the French Wine Adventures arrived today from Amazon! I had missed it when it was last on BBCA and will enjoy it much more on TV instead of Youtube.

Loved the scene at the beginning where Oz is trying to get James to savor the taste of the wine & he keeps laughing. I thought at one point he was going to spew it all over Oz.

Poor old Oz. He really thought he was making a serious show about wine at that point, didn't he?

Finished watching the first series in France. Lots of lovely eye candy scenes. Now I want to take a wine tour through France...in a Jaguar...with a funny, charming, gorgeous bloke..(day dreaming)...

Damn. I chose to drive the Grande Corniche (the highest road), thinking it would have the best scenery. Maybe should have gone for the Basse! Grande was fab though.
