After much consideration, I have decided on a name. I'm going to call him Valmont (like in Dangerous Liaisons). I know that the character wasn't that nice of a guy but I like the name and it seems to suit him.

I like the name Valmont. It gives him a certain dignity that I'm sure he deserves and expects! ;D ;D

Great choice! ;D It's far better than a "traditional cat name!"

Thanks gals! Glad you like his name. It took me a while to come up with it but he is already starting to respond to it. He's a smart little guy!

My cat has decided that he needs to crawl into my shirt when I take it off at night. Only cats know why?!?! ;D ;D

When we go visit my mother for an extended weekend, we leave some of our clothes out on the bed and favorite fleece blankets on the sofa for our guys to snuggle in. We didn't do that once, and came back to a house that loosely resembled the one we left.

LOL ;D That will teach you, they do take offense at being left home alone don't they ;D

They don't like being left alone for any period of time. Sometimes I get greetings as though I've been gone for days when it's actually been 30 minutes! ;D
My guys are exceptionally social and expect you to treat them as fully-fledged members of the family. Of our two, mine does not like to be laughed at. He will show definite disgust at MOH for doing so! Also, he will sit behind me when I come home and if he's not immediately acknowledged will trill to get my attention. (My guys don't meow) When he doesn't get his way, he takes it out on his brother, ripping out fur and creating general mayhem!
Mind you, they are much quieter, less destructive (usually) and less expensive than children. I'll take cats any day! ;D ;D

My three were surprisingly glad to see me when I got back this week. Usually they come to look at me then stalk away. This time they all hurled themselves down the stairs, "wowwing" loudly and wanting fussing. I think they were just objecting to the fact that I'd got the lady next door to feed them while I was away!
One of them seems to have started falling in love with little patches of light on the carpet. She moves round the room as the sun moves during the day, pawing at them, singing to them, rolling on them then curling up round them. Then she comes for counselling when they disappear. I think she's odd, but don't tell her I said so!

The other night I made posh River Cottage style hotdogs. They were lovely, really good sausages with slices of apple cooked in the sausage pan and served in lovely crusty bread. As I sat down to eat mine, someone else had a beady eye on it... (I did give in and let her lick the plate - but only after I'd eaten the hotdog) Attachments:

Fantastic photo, Wy! ;D
My two guys feel as though anything the goes into or comes out of the refrigerator should be sniffed by them first. They also think that anything we cook and eat should be sampled by them too, or at least let them run their noses over it!

That one's a she and she's currently licking tomato sauce off a plate. She doesn't like it much, she's licking it out of principle.

Oddly enough, my three don't eat human food, in the main. Senior cat will lap at prawn juice (though she finds prawns themselves too rubbery), Jasper will occasionally deign to eat a scrap of raw steak, though he won't have a second, and his sister Molly will lick butter if it's right in front of her but won't search it out.
They don't jump on tables or beg so I suppose I should be grateful. However, they make a great fuss if I don't give them their biscuits on time, and I have to serve up at least one sachet of mushy food a week. They prefer it on Fridays. (Lord knows how they know.)

This one can be an absolute pain in the bum when there's human food around but her son isn't in the least but interested. Unless it's ham. They'll both kill for ham! They're supposed to have the occasional raw chicken wing to help clean/strengthen their teeth but she dismembers them & spreads the bits all over the house and he turns his nose up at them

That's astonishing, DMC! I had no idea big cats like pumpkins!
It seems so incongruous, rather like my late mother-in-law's Springer spaniel which would do anything for a tangerine.

Well, in the middle of tonight's atrocious weather the catflap went and my boycat came in silent with fury as he'd obviously fallen in the brook. So my black-and-white was a black!. He let me dry him off a bit with kitchen roll, had a very long swear about it then disappeared upstairs, no doubt for a long cleaning session!
He's done it before but never seems to learn!
