Oi! Ive discovered this board quite a while ago and thought I'd register. My name is Kristine (or Kris) and I'm.....quite young. 17, to be exact. I come from the land of the ice and snow, from the midnight sun where the hot springs blow....well, not really. I'm from Latvia (which is not a very nice place to be. Also, that means my english will be terrible, so i apoligise in advance). Weirdly enough i never noticed Top Gear on TV, even though, apparently it was going for quite a while now. I discovered it around half a year ago and ever since it's been my favorite program of all times. I have absolute no interest in cars whatsoever, but i still find Top Gear the most entertaining program of the lot. it's quite embarassing to admit, i have had numerous crushes on older men and James is my latest *blushes*. I have loads of other interests besides drooling over James and watching TG such as drawing, photography, playing guitar, etc. I think I also might be one of the few vegetarians that find Jezza awesome and stuff after all those numerous quotes on how vegetarians suck hehe. Well, that's all I can say bout myself, I guess!

I have been into cars quite a while and have always watched TG and other experimenty/science shows, i have always found james the most interesting of the three. I have always been non-girly and spent the other weekend taking a brake caliper appart and re-assembling it as it wasnt working perfetly but it was that simple (although time consuming) i refused to buy a new one!
Recently i have split with my OH of 8 years and so have had more time to internet etc as staying with parents (and trying to avoid them most of the time), i stumbled across a link to here on FG and decided to come and have a look. Its all quite interesting escpecialy some of the pictures :-)

So, here I am, new and suprised about the amount of females on the board Dont listen to her - I am not odd ;D The ladies on here all seem to have a 'thing' for Mr May (Have a look at The Naughty Corner, The Clone Sanctuary and all the comments on the photos that are posted! ), but I have to say he does nothing for me - honest! I admire the man for the work he does. Toy Stories is one of my all-time favourite series, Oz and James drink to Britain comes a close second - and the evening on BBC 2 where he went to the edge of space, as well as other stuff was a fantastic evenings entertainment!

I did blush slightly at your comment here as I forget there are the odd males lurking around who must think we are all crazy females with some of the things we write Oh by the way I don't mean your odd or a lurker personally, it's just an expression, you know...... *ok I'll stop rambling now*

I didn't take it personally at all - I know I am in a minority here, being a bloke and all that - and I don't really look at the girly fanatsy stuff - so I just keep quiet and let the ladies get on with it! I am nearly up to 100 posts in a year - steady away! Rambling over ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

Crazy??? Never ;D blushing too but i don't care frankly ;D I too admire James for the work he does and all his programs are inspiring, informative and intersting (if he doesn't win the BAFTA for toy story's there is something very wrong) I have learnt more about science and engineering (and booze!) watching James' programs than i ever did at school (not the booze bit obviously ), maybe it's because i'm older and more intersted in all that stuff but i also think its because of the way James explains things. Oh yeah and his devilish good looks help too ;D Welcome one and all anyway ;D

Hello fellow James May freaks. I reigstered a few days ago and am still finding my way around this site and came across this intro page. I am only a recent convert to James May-nia because I started watching Top Gear. TO be honest I had a thing firstly for Jeremy and then Richard but now I have settled for James!! LOL

Well, I am re-introducing myself as I have been off for a bit. I'm Puss and I've been around on and off since the smut board. I was er, recruited by Eclair who I met on the Pievy, when we started chatting about a stranded coal ship... But that is another story. As my name would suggest I like cats. I have two and a husband who looks a bit like James (or so I like to think) and very recently a daughter called Ruby. She is 4 months old and currently not letting me get a lot of sleep. Anyhoo, I turn up when I can. Also I live in the far antipodes. Sydney to be exact.

*Waves hello* Well, hi... I'm flyslip, and I'm new. Australian by birth, part-New Zealander by breeding, and American by ambition (it's a long story, but one that ends in me overstaying my visa twice now, and heading home to the Antipodes.) I look forward to getting to know a few of you, and spending weeks trawling through all the Jamesy goodness on this board! Admittedly, I've already started on that last bit - I've spent much of the past two days enjoying some of the fiction (well done, ladies!) and other bits and pieces on this treasure-trove of info. I'm a journalist by training, but who knows, maybe in time I'll have some fiction of my own to share... ANYWAY. What brought me here? A Google search, actually. ;D Oh, okay, yes, a deep and abiding admiration for Mr James May, yeah, that too, obviously... I'm rather late to this, I suppose, but until about this time last year I hadn't seen Top Gear at all, ever. And, well, it was while I was living in New York City, laid up with swine flu, that I switched on BBC America, and caught the car show I'd heard so much about (but never got to see before then - such were the joys of living with an Anglophobe of a Greek-American husband, who'd whine whenever I tried to watch ANYTHING English). So, yeah. James grew on me, gradually... and then not so gradually, and after having him unaccountably show up in my dreams about a week ago, I got onto the computer and it led me here... Eeek this is getting boring. So, yes, before I send you all to sleep, I'll just say hi for now, and bye, for now... but expect to see a lot more of me, around the place!

* waves* Welcome flyslip! Glad you found us and I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time meandering through all that is James. ;D I too didn't find James until May of last year. However, I hadn't heard of Top Gear at all and was introduced to him through Drink To Britain. Then of course came Top Gear and all his other programs. You'll find many warm and fabulous people here! ;D

And how cool to discover James in the month of May... (okay, sorry, I'm a fan of the obvious joke, at times!) I have to admit, Toy Stories was the first time I truly appreciated James' charms on his own... before that, he was just "that cultured/educated guy on TG"... (Oh, how much I was missing out on! Especially since "unlimited" internet is just that in NY, and nothing like that in the 'backwards" part of the world I find myself in, so I'm unable to even download the first ep of the new series! *Sigh*) Anyway, as it's Saturday night here, I shall Drink to James (& Oz) - and to all of you on this board! Thankyou

Hiya, woogy! I hope you find enough here to make you smile... and to hang around and participate. We're all fans of the bloke previously known as Captain Slow, here... and yeah, a great many of us have a soft spot or three for wee Hammond (mind you, when my mother calls him tiny, I have great pleasure in telling him he's at least her height, if not more!) Don't let us scare you away - yeah, there's some in-jokes but if you're unsure, you can always ask me... or the mods, etc. (The difference with me is that I remember what it's like to be new here! But really, everyone's great here. And I mean it!) Enjoy your stay and have fun. (I wrote that as "have fan"... nice Freudian slip, no? ;D LOL)
