Hi all, I just joined this site yesterday after having a bit of a sticky beak. I'm a recent convert of Top Gear and James May. I saw the Top Gear ad for the first time about a year ago thought "I wouldn't be interested in that" and forgot about it. A couple of months ago I was surfing for t.v. viewing that wasn't utter crap and came across Top Gear and absolutely loved it. I was watching for a couple of weeks when I thought "my, that James May is really something" and the rest is history . As for me, I'm 21 years old (and glad to see some younger people here, I was feeling a bit odd), I'm Australian and currently a student of literature, I'm graduating at the end of the year. My hobbies include reading, writing, playing clarinet and waterskiing. I am interested in cars but find it very hard to take in information about them, which is part of the reason I love Top Gear: The best way for me to learn something is to watch it on t.v. I'm also interested in travelling. I have always wanted to visit England and now I have an added incentive to make it over there Looking forward to getting to know you all A.J.

Hi, everyone, I hope this ends up on the right topic (trying to post from my phone). I'm an ancient American way past my 30s I discovered TG about 3 years ago from BBC America. I am quite fond of Jezza but have recently noticed that I'm growing more enamored of Mr. May, too, especially since BBC America aired James May on the Moon and Toy Stories this year. I have decided to fully join up after lurking for a while, because no one else in my area or my family is into TG, and I need a place where I can be with like-minded souls Cheers to y'all (I am from the South, but I wouldn't throw rocks at the lads, only kidnap them).

Welcome brilliantrubbish! You'll definitely find like-minded souls here! ;D I hear you about not having anyone to talk TG with. My husband watches but it isn't really conducive talking with him about James' new hair cut or how marvelous Jezza looks from behind! You'll love it here! Have fun! ;D ;D P.S. Where in the South are you from? If you don't mind my asking. I'm from Maine.

Hi brilliantrubbish! Like DMC said, you're in the right place. ;D My fiancée watches TG with me and knows of fandomy doings, but it's not the same, you know? It's quite a nice group here. There's a few Yanks here, myself included, so you don't have to feel too out of the loop anymore.

Oh I'm such a nitwit - I didn't realise there was an introduce yourself topic! A couple of my friends do like Top Gear, and although one of them does like Hammond very, very much, I'd be laughed out of England if I admitted that I was a huge fan of Mr. May! So, I shall spend all my days here discussing the amazing Captain Slow... Hmm, about me, I'm a bit young, but hopefully I'll fit right in ;D ;D As well as being an avid Top Gear watcher, I also love Doctor Who and Harry Potter See you around! ;D ;D

Hi all! I've stumbled upon this board a while ago and think it's a lovely place, so I thought I'd introduce myself... I never liked Top Gear and I absolutely loathed that big-mouthed Jeremy Clarkson, so when my OH suggested watching an episode together a couple of months ago I wasn't very eager to say the least but.. ;D Of course I absolutely loved it. At first, and like many others if I'm correct, I started appreciating the Hamster but this soon gave way to a sudden and complete obsession with mr. May. I love his voice, his looks, his wit and his understated charm. And, as things are now, I am in danger of stepping over to the dark (JC) side as well.. Help! It's bad enough as it is, being utterly smitten with James May. Oh the shame... My next stop, after this introductory post, will probably be the JM hospital or the Confessional. Or maybe I should just head straight for the Naughty Corner? Anyhow, a little bit about myself. I'm in my mid-twenties and loving it. In a couple of months I will hopefully start working as a primary teacher. My OH is very sweet about my obsessions in general and just shakes his head when he finds me lusting after JM. I'm lucky. Looking forward to meeting you all! Hops ps in case you were wondering, I chose my nn after the beer ingredient (O&JDTB is lovely, as are the wine series!)

Welcome Aboard, Hops! You'll find this a wonderful place filled with wonderful people and of course, much that is James! ;D Do make use of the James May Hospital and the Confessional threads. Also don't forget to check out the Pictures of James, Leanage and Limbs threads. But have a lot of spare time set aside for The Naughty Corner. You may never want to leave! Have a great time! ;D
