Hello, all! I am new to the JMB as of this past week. I began to watch Top Gear in earnest earlier this year, and I have come to appreciate it for its humor more than anything else, although I watch it for James! I love his wry humor, his intelligence, and the way he can turn a phrase and fill it with obscenities! I am a college professor, have a wonderful significant other who thinks I am absolutely mad because I like Top Gear, and also have a rather fast car which gets me in trouble. Glad to be a part of the bunch!

I find it interesting that so many ladies who admire James are involved in education one way or the other - presumably picking up on the gentleman's intelligence and wit (as well as his other attributes!). Is the 'mezzo' part of your name a link to singing, and what's your rather fast car? (Nosey, me?)

Hi, all! Yes, I am an American, living in Maryland not too far from Washington, DC. I am a Latin professor, so I do consider myself a bit on an intellectual, but snobbish I'm not! My name is Lynne and I end my screen name with "mezzo" because I am a mezzo here in DC with a wonderful choral group whose director won a Grammy in 2000!
Dit, I have a wonderful high-powered Ford Fusion which goes faster than it probably ought to, simply because I have a heavy foot! As a matter of fact, I got caught in two speed cameras in as many weeks. Thankfully no points on my driving license; I can't afford to be banned from driving!

Hi, I've come to the realization that I VERY rudely didn't introduce myself properly! (or I did... and I'm too cabbage to find where I posted... in that case, I apologize for the double up!) I'm Cath, mother of 2, wife of one and TG obsessed housewife from New Zealand. It's all my husbands fault, he introduced me to TopGear..... I don't think he thought I'd enjoy the presenters so much! LOL Since then I've since become an avid watcher of all things James May, my Youtube list reads like a BBC back catalogue and I enjoyed my 4 year old's TopGear birthday party more than he did... and my husband wishes I'd go back to watching 'woman shows' so I stop showing him up on car knowledge on the man channels LOL But on the up side.... since coming a fan of all things automotive I've leaned to service my own car - Dad would be so proud ;D I'm glad to have found this place full or lovely, intelligent, kinda obsessive, crazy (in the best possible way) May fans just like me |
