Hi I am coatsaed and I have been to your board several times of the years and have enjoyed it. I just have now decided to take the leap and introduce myself. It is just me and my daughter who is nonverbal autistic. I put that there for a reason because I for a long time was the only one who watched top gear. Now my daughter googles it, we buy the dvds, have some books, download from itunes, plus dvr it. Yes her favorite is James May. She does has taste. So here I am I am going to stop lurking. Though this does beat spending money on disney when it can be spent on something we both can enjoy. How scare it may seem.

Hello coatsaed. Whereabouts are you, continent-wise? Only a few of the board's resident insomniacs and maybe a couple of bats around at the moment, so you'll have to make do with me as your welcoming party

Glad you've enjoyed The Dungeon, coatsaed! It must be good to find something your daughter is really interested in, with Top Gear and James. I've done some work with autistic children (not a great deal though, and mainly high-achieving) and I do know how tremendously challenging your daughter must be, but now you have something positive in common.

Yes it is nice to finally have something in common but the same guy. She googles constantly. Won't let her on this site. Mommy needs something for herself. I wonder what James would think if he knew an autistic person found him fascinating. Plus she thinks he is cute. Like I do.

Welcome to the JMB Coatsaed! Good on you for de-lurking, and I hope you have lots of fun. I deal with autistic kids quite a lot - it's great that you've found something that engages her and that you both enjoy. Not always easy. Enjoy! ;D

hi. thank you for the nice welcome. It is nice to know that you can share an interest in somebody and not be embarrassed because your friends have no idea who you are talking about. Plus you are not the only one with impure thoughts.

Hello ladies! MOH introduced me to Top Gear a couple of years ago, always liked James and thought he was cool, but recently we acquired more TG DVDs and upon watching them on our new, flasher, bigger TV, I noticed that James is also hot!!! So, am now a squee-prone admirer of the lovely Mr. May. He comes across as a real gentleman, very charming, very clever, and witty too. And then there's his beautiful blue eyes, lovely smile, etc... Basically, utterly swoon-inducing! As for me, I'm Welsh, late 20s, writer, jewellery maker, steampunk enthusiast. I LARP, I play piano (am rusty as all hell though) I make model planes and helicopters, been interested in cars for years - side effect of being a mechanic's daughter - and drive a Peugeot 306 turbo diesel called Serenity. Yes, I named my car, AND she's a diesel, which might get me some teasing were I ever fortunate enough to meet James, but I can take it Have only been a member of an internet board once before, but this place looks immense fun, and means I have somewhere to drool/squee/faint in good company

You do what, dear? (vacant granny mode: OFF) LARPing - Live Action Role Playing. I've done a bit of that, called High Fantasy Society, where we ran around like idiots in chainmail shirts with padded "swords." Some LARPs are not quite so physical. Welcome to all those newer than me! To the more veteran crowd, I'm ToyStoriesFan (TSF or Toy is fine), I'm from Missouri, I work at a library and I'm crazy about Doctor Who, Sherlock, Top Gear, and James May. It'd be hard to say which I'm more fanatic about. I've been to London and Cardiff twice. I've been in the Cross Keys. James was not there, but it was a fun evening anyway, except that I was coming down with a Convention Cold. I drive a Mazda. Boring little thing, except that I was in a rather serious accident and emerged w/o a scratch. I insisted the insurance company put my little Dumpty back together again. I had the accident because I was widowed earlier that month and was just a tad bit insane. I'm still insane, but in a happier way now. More on the hyper excitable fan upswing than the dark down alone-swings. I write in the Clone Sanctuary, and I hope we can get new writers there, as well as older ones returning!

Now then Zach. Always good to have another bloke perspective on things around here (not just a marketing bloke as I think has happened quite recently!) The women on here are OK really - despite what other people say! Some are very sensible, but others are just a complete bag of hormones at times (don't argue, you know who you are ) I am sure the ladies will make you very welcome and will be very encouraging!
