Now then Zach. Always good to have another bloke perspective on things around here (not just a marketing bloke as I think has happened quite recently!) The women on here are OK really - despite what other people say! Some are very sensible, but others are just a complete bag of hormones at times (don't argue, you know who you are ) I am sure the ladies will make you very welcome and will be very encouraging! Snort, flat, moi a bag of hormones, my hormones are only for my Doctor ( sorry Zach you will catch up with that ;D if you go to the adultery thread, just I'm so sorry, it's just because ;D Proboards support you say dit has a problem with this board I may wiggle my way over there....will I be safe ;D Enjoy !!!!

Hello!! Thanks for all the welcomes. I'll introduce myself here.
I'm in the US & live in Upstate NY. I've been an Anglophile a long time. My father is English and had family there until a few years ago. I've watched shows on BBC America, but Top Gear didn't catch my attention until last winter. Thought it was just about car racing! Then I happened to see some gorgeous scenic photography (of Britain of course), found the show hilarious and James May fascinating (and very attractive!).
Was beginning to think I was a bit mad until I found you all here. Now I feel normal! :-)

I think Missouri is considered the Midwest, is it not? Sort of southern corner of, but still Midwest. Hey, Chicago would be a good central point to meet up! Maybe if TGL ever comes to the US... we can hope.

Hey everyone! And yay midwesterners. I kind of wish they'd do a Top Gear challenge in Chicago or thereabouts...they've been to the southeast, the east coast, and the west coast, but never the middle of the US.

(I took a very long break from JMB interaction, think I needed it, so that's probably why I didn't know/remember where you were at.) And seriously, Top Gear has done specials in nearly every part of the country except the midwest. Come on now guys! Chicago's always a good central place to meet up, big city in the middle of the country! (in case it was unknown, I LOVE Chicago.)

I too adore Chicago. And it's been too long since I've been there. C'mon, TG, visit us here! ;D

Welcome, skivvies! I'm new still here, too I agree, they should do a TGL here in the US. I've been quite envious, but looking forward to hearing the reports on the show in Birmingham.

Hello, Name's Julia, born Austrian living with my husband and 2 cats in Estonia. My hubby introduced me to Top Gear a year ago and I mainly watched it for Hammond (had a girly crush on him back in his Brainiac days) and the obvious bromance between the guys. A month ago I had a very realistic dream; that I was on holiday with the guys at some Spa-Resort. Apparently I was Mays girlfriend and he was jealous of Hammond (afraid Richard would hit on me) I was then in the pool and Hammond would put his arm around my waist to get me to the edge of the pool. I still remember that James was gone and I found him in my hotel room where I told him: "Just because we don't have sex every night doesn't mean I'd cheat on you like that". Well, after that I saw James with different eyes. I kept my silence until I found this forum. Now I feel a strange peace in my insane mind.

This forum seems strangely like home to so many of us when we arrive, eestikitty! No need to continue your silence here now, you're just as much a part of the JMB whether you're a reader, a poster or both. Enjoy!

Ohhh dit! I just spent whole evening reading your Dungeon story. I bow to you. I might start to write fanfiction too, would that belong to the NC or shall I make a seperate topic for that?

Thank you for the compliment, eestikitty! *blushes*
For some reason The Dungeon has always stayed in the NC, the only fiction to do so. I don't quite know why the moderators have let me carry on with this (two and a half years now - wow! I can't believe it!) Perhaps because the Dungeon posts are so short, and readers can flip past them if they don't like them. Or perhaps because the entries aren't too graphic!
Don't know whether you've had a look yet in the 'Our Creative Minds - Fiction' section, there's some good writing in there, mainly longer episodes - definitely worth reading/posting there. You'll have chance to develop your ideas. Good luck!

Good Evening.
May I introduce myself? I'm Felicity and I live 2 miles from the centre of York. I have an admiration for James May which is quite unexplainable. I certainly regard him as a kind and gentle soul whom is extremely gifted and has very delightful sparkling baby blue eyes.
My passions are for old films, especially Hitchcock films and my favourite actor is Conrad Veidt. I also am (ashamedly) a rather large Coronation Street fan. I have quite the crush on Peter Barlow, aka Chris Gascoyne.
For all car lovers, I drive an old (2001) Mazda MX5. It still works well, but does have a habit of leaking when it rains.

Well, I suppose I should pop up my head like a groundhog and say "Hello."
Like most of you here, I must admit that Heat Magazine's Weird Celebrity Crush of 2007 doesn't strike me as a weird celebrity crush at all. Sure, he's shaggy, greying, stoutish, has a tendency to ramble, and could get lost on a football pitch - but somehow that all manages to contribute to his not inconsiderable charm.
My own motoring credentials are as such: I own and maintain a 1959 Volkswagen Type I, which I've had since 1993. I've also got an '88 Civic DX, which is surprisingly fun to drive actually. I've had: '81 VW Scirocco (terribly unreliable, but hells of fun when it was running), an '87 Ford Escort Wagon (amazingly well made for an old, crap car), and a fourth-hand 1992 Jetta, which was comprehensively awful, and even though I left it parked on the street, in a terrible neighborhood, with the keys in, I couldn't even get it stolen!

^^Hey!
I realized that I never actually introduced myself either, oops. Seeing as today is my birthday, I might as well. I've been a member here for almost a year. I got into Top Gear/James/etc. last year during my Christmas break from college. I'm from America (South Carolina), and I think I'm probably a little bit younger than most of James' fans. I think he's great, though. James is a perfect fandom fit for me, considering that I've always been really into shows on BBC America, as well as books and documentaries about toys. Also, he's damn gorgeous. My car history is a little shoddy, considering that I am 23, so I don't have much of one...but so far I've had a 1996 Saturn, a 2005 Hyundai Elantra (which I actually loved) and a 2007 Ford Fusion (basically a Mondeo, I guess). I really want to own a Golf GTI or a Fiat 500 one day.
