I got the e-mail yesterday so voted straight away. I skipped a lot of the categories, as names and faces meant little to me as I don't watch a lot of TV, TG got my vote though.

They won. James has just done one of his lovely bows to Anne Widdicome. I wonder who the lucky girl was who tucked their microphone cables down their trousers? James seemed impressed by her.

Ok I caught the off button my remote, what happened after James said 'I like to thank the girl who pushed the microphones down our trousers' I saw Jeremy begin to push James away for the microphone. ;D

Good grief, they got it!
It looked as if Jezza was just going to give a sensible acceptance speech, but then the others got involved and it got a bit silly - thank goodness!
I recorded it so I'll transcribe it in a few minutes.
(btw, No detriment to any fans of these programmes who are on the JMB, but it wasn't looking good earlier because: Sherlock and Dr Who were beaten by Waterloo Road QI and Mock The Week were beaten by I'm A Celebrity Outnumbered, Michael McIntyre and Harry Hill were beaten by Benodorm Ant 'n' Dec won best presenter(s) for the tenth year running)

I loved that the microphone stands were perfectly sized for Hammond ;D but Jezza, I'm getting a bit bored with the 'no facts in Top Gear' rubbish that you keep falling back onto every. Single. Time. that TG get nominated for the factual category. It's tedious, and I'm sure you could find somethiing else to say *smacks Jeremy round the back of the head*

I've no doubt this will be up on YouTube within ten minutes but I thought some of you might like the transcript.
Also, if past awards ceremonies are anything to go be, the press feeds will be full of pics of James trashed out of his mind hugging some minor female TV 'personality' - it seems to be what he does on these occasions!
Jezza points to (lowset) mics, then Richard These have been set up for you, haven't they? If it's any consolation to the people from Masterchef, that's my daughter's favourite programme. Mostly though, I'd just like to say an enormous thank you for all those people who voted for us, particularly in the 'Factual television programme' category as there hasn't been a fact on Top gear for seven years now, it's just three middle-aged men falling over every week. But really we are enormously grateful to you, I think this is our third or fourth - third victory in this category and it makes us feel very proud and it makes us feel it's all worthwhile so thank you so much.
Richard steps to the mic Yeah, thank you to everyone who voted. (looks at mics) These are fine, I like these, these are OK! Thank you to everyone who voted and thank you as well we must say to the whole of the Top Gear team, some of them are down there (Jezza and James turn and applaud them). Really, we can't tell you how brilliant they are, without their fantastic work we really would be three middle-aged men falling over and that would be it, so thanks to them.
James comes to the mic Yeah, we'd also like to say an especial thank you to the girl who tucked our microphone cables down our trousers earlier on, thanks very much.
Jezza pushes James gently away and takes the mic again Well that's good, that's good, you're now sacked.
James Go on, I'm forty eight
Jezza Yeah, you won't be able to get a job on Countryfile any more. So a really, really big thank you to everybody, this makes us feel very, very proud, not particularly of the show we've made today for Sunday evening, but there we are we'll move on, thank you very much.
As they then wandered off stage, the presenter said They've no idea where they are or what this is, but give it up for Top Gear!
(The references to age and Countryfile are because a female presenter was sacked from that programme because of her age and has recently won a court case against the BBC)

So far, there's been only one brief appearance by the TG3 in the NTA party show on ITV2. Jezza said that their award should have been for best fatuous programme, but James disagreed and said it should have been for best flatulent programme.

I loved the way the bimbo interviewer panicked when James mentioned flatulence and said. "Oh, please don't say that!" I wondered if she'd been warned they were dangerous! Edit: In looking to see if there's anything up already on YouTube I found this, which is of Jeremy receiving a Special Recognition Award at the NTAs in 2007, which I'd not seen before. The first part is an excellent resume of his work, the second is his acceptance. Some lovely bits of interview with James and Richard too. www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRWcpt5v_Rcwww.youtube.com/watch?v=N1er3bA3NJQ&feature=related

Dropping one letter makes so much difference... oops ;D Attachments:
