Yes, Jamie played Apollo in the new BsG series. I know him and his family and he is such an adorable man! His wife is lovely and he has three little girls who are the apple of his eye! Awww... that's nice. ;D I'm not sure if he was at Dragon*Con or not. I went to their website to check the guest list, but they've already begun gearing up for next year's con. ;D Hope you have a wonderful holiday, eshalda! ;D

Off to New York City with SO for the weekend. We have tickets for the Metropolitan Opera Saturday afternoon, and we'll be having drinks afterwards with Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Ramey. Those of you who are opera savvy will recognize the his name; he is probably the finest bass-baritone singing now. Mrs. Ramey is a good friend!

Greetings from the Big Apple, everyone! It's chilly but who cares? New York is just the most wonderful place, and we really need to come here more often.

Jmsquared, I hope there are several intermissions because the opera is over 5 hours long ! It's not Wagner, who was well-known for his long operas, but Berlioz. Thankfully, it is all about the Trojan War (The Trojans, in French, Les Troyens) so it should have lots of action, as well as beautiful music!

The opera was spectacular, drinks with Sam and Lindsey Ramey was great fun with sparkling conversation, and dinner with Alain's friend Dick (general manager of the Lar Lubavitch Dance Company) and his partner Doug (choreographer of the opera ballet in yesterday's opera) ended far too early!
Guess I'll have to start playing the lottery in earnest because I am getting this burning desire to move to The Big Apple, and I van see myself in a nice condo on the Upper West Side!

Sounds even more tempting at the start of a week when it sounds as if it's going to be pretty cold and snowy!

A surprise weekend away for Mrs - a birthday treat! The big 5-0! I picked the cottages from the internet, and had to keep my fingers crossed that the website photos did the place justice! I was wrong! The place was EVEN BETTER in real life! Amazing! Fantastic setting, fantastic accommodation, fantastic outlook, fantastic peace and quiet, and fantastic HUUUUUUUUGE trout in the ponds! (You can say 'I will have that one please', and they will catch it (maybe) and - er - prepare it, and deliver it to your cottage! www.foxtwood.co.uk if you want a more detailed look.

I did a good choose there! Loads of house points! Yes - that is our doggy, Fizz!
The first requirement for a holiday venue is 'dog friendly'. No Fizz = no holiday! She goes everywhere with us these days!

What a charming place for a holiday! I prefer finding a furnished flat or a cottage, where you are not constrained by a hotel. But that looks like something out of Jane Austen.....

well - here is a shameless plug for Facebook votes! We had a canal trip in October, and I took loads of photos! It turns out that two of my photos have been chosen as entries to the hire companies annual competion to win a weekend away on their lovely boats! So, if you 'like' either, or both of these photos on their Facebook page, I could win a weekend afloat! www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.348722001907210.76669.228059527306792&type=1Who resized those? I am sure they were both the same size! Thank you!
