Just booked my flight to Atlanta in September! Dragon*Con here I come!! ;D ;D Saved almost 50% booking with Orbitz! WooHoo! I was reading through my travel insurance papers - all 19 pages of it  - I love their definition of a Terrorist Event: Terrorist event: When an organized terrorist group, as defined by the U.S. State Department, injures or kills people or damages property to achieve a political, ethnic or religious goal or result. Terrorist events don’t include a general civil protest, unrest, rioting or acts of war.I don't know about the State Department, but if I'm involved in a terrorist event, I sure consider it an act of war!!  |

Jacqui, I really enjoyed your account of your trip to Thailand. My SO and I were there for 2 1/2 weeks in 2007 when I was visiting him in Tokyo, where he worked at the US Embassy. I adore Thailand, both Bangkok and Phuket, and I so hope to return there one day.
We will be going back to France next month to attend a wedding (my SO is French) and then we'll spend about 2 weeks in Paris, with day trips into the countryside and maybe even a day trip to London!

I adore Paris, too. We usually take an apartment near the Gare Montparnasse, even though it's a little out of the mainstream, but I'm hoping we'll go to the 7th <<arrondissement>> this summer. I find that I become a totally different person when I'm in Paris!

I'm about to head interstate for a few days. It isn't exactly a holiday and it probably sounds like I'm a spoilt brat considering I was in the UK last year, but I seriously need a break and this one couldn't come at a better time. It'll be great to have a change of scenery and to catch up with friends. |

Off to France next month for the wedding of Alain's childhood friend's daughter. It's just south of Le Mans; wish there could be some TG action in the neighborhood! Back then to Paris where we have booked a lovely apartment. We'll be tourists for the duration, and I look forward to some lovely day trips and then possibly, a day out in London.

cruising along at 4mph, doing a few locks, going through a couple of tunnels! BBQ on the towpath? A few bar meals on other nights! Feed the ducks! Walk the dog! Catch a few fish?
other than that - absolutely nothing!
(in a year or two I might buy my own version!)

Consider this my postcard from Southwold.
Today I visited a wildlife reserve and got wet, walked along the beach in the shadow of the Sizewell nuclear reactor, and went into Southwold and got a parking ticket from a CSO who apologised to me for issuing it.

Leaving tomorrow night for 2 weeks in France. We're going to a wedding near Le Mans, and then we're spending the rest of the time in a beautiful apartment in Paris. I'm very ready for this holiday; haven't been away for a year! I'll have have the laptop with me, so I'll keep you updated.

Mmmm, Paris, I love it! I was there a couple of years ago. Have a romantic sniffle at the padlocks on the bridge over the Seine, and see if you can dare to visit the Musée de l'Erotisme on the Boulevard de Clichy (at the base of Montmartre) - I didnt!
