Not entirely a digression, eshalda. You probably wouldn't need information about what causes a hangover if you were only allowed a third of a pint at the brewery (though I suppose it would depend on how many different beers you were allowed to sample!) On behalf of scientific research I'm going to find out just how many thirds of a pint you can drink before you get trollied.I know you ladies like to be though and as there happens to be a beer festival set up in the Gladstone Museum near by this weekend I felt it my duty to take on the challenge.(Preferably with a pie after) this isn't for cool it's for sunday when I wake up.

Really enjoyed that one! Again, not a whole lot of unfamiliar material, but such a fun way of presenting it. I've heard it described as James being the voice of a more factual Hitchhiker's Guide - and I think that's about right ;D

I liked this second episode so much more than I did the first one. One coherent storyline instead off a torrent of sidelines, no armchair, thank god, and the information wasn't presented as if it was intended for 8 year olds. Hope the third episode is like this one!

On twitter (never thought I'd say it, but I'm hooked on picking up tweets now, even though I'm not on twitter myself) the comments about the programmes are divided roughly 50/50, half saying effectively, "What is this rubbish? It's condescending twaddle," etc, and the other half saying, "Brilliant prgramme, very informative and fun, taught me a lot". Which presumably just goes to show that there's no pleasing everybody.

Even though I knew most of it already, I liked it to be presented by our James ;D I think it was defo better than the first episode, even though I don't like the fact James keeps standing still, on one place..

Is there any place where I could download these? I only saw the bit on YouTube and would like to get the whole thing saved (for research purposes, of course). And I don't do torrents..

If you are a member of Final Gear: someone put both episodes on his FTP -server, where you can download them from. He also kindly provided instructions in case you don't know how to do that.

Episode 2. Had to go looking last night, downloaded overnight while snoozing. I can put episode 1 up here too if anyone wants it. Haven't seen it yet. Thinking I might save it for later tonight when interview prep causes me to go crazy.

Thank you for the downloads, meinicham! I'm really enjoying the graphics in this series. Yes, there are distinct nods to the TV version of "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy", but as they were some of the best I've ever seen then I think it's a valid comparison. I have also fallen in love with the white mouse. Yes, it is a mouse, it likes cheese. It is not a rat.

What does it's tail look like? That would solve the mystery. Naked tail=rat. Unless it's a mouse that's taken to waxing.

Sadly, its tail is not in view, so we will never be sure. To be fair, if it was a white rat I wouldn't be concerned, though I know some people don't go for that sort of thing. Mice are, by dint of their size, cuter.

I liked the first episode more than this one, to be honest. It was still very good, but the Human Body episode seemed to have more quirky animation in it and I laughed more. Reminded me of the first series of Man Lab: the first episode was mildly criticised for being a bit disjointed, but I liked how it jumped around from one thing to the next. Maybe I'm just a bit strange and have a short attention span.

My 9 year old likes them. Obviously, we skipped the reproduction section. He said, "I like his programs. James makes boring things sound interesting." High praise from the Nintendo generation.

I liked the second episode better. He was more animated. He got my attention and I am not a science oriented person. More into history etc. I did take an evolutionary anthropology class because my minor is anthropology. James reiterated pretty much what my Professor said.
