Thanks Nat! I might have gotten an illustration job as of yesterday- the man likes my style and has asked me to draw one or two illustrations to see if I capture the atmosphere he wants, and if I do, he might let me do the whole book, depending on how things go. So yay! I can make the dolls with any face- I use antique and vintage photos because I like them, but I've made a few using photos of my friends as gifts for them. Aww, Im sure it owns pride of place in the Warwick household! I love him, I have fond memories of putting a blanket over me, holding a baby doll and walking around saying 'milk a baby'- I so wanted to be Willow! Also- I was reading through this thread... don't give up drawing. Your portraits have a lovely quality to them, especially your painted ones. The paint is so delicate... keep going!! Oh wow!! I'll cross my fingers for you that he's going to love your art!! Well, you can expect your first order then as soon as your webshop opens. I have some ideas that I hope you're willing to make... Cuuuute, about you wanting to be Willow ^.^ I used to be fond of him as well. I love the movie, my dog is called Kaiya, after Willow's wife. And thankyou so much for your kind words!

She gave willow her hair! I love that film... your dog has a lovely name! :') .. your welcome! You should be proud of your work!

My son wanted me to draw a steam engine and I tried. Not as easy as it sounds.. This is my first effort: Just saved tons of pictures of various steam engines (including The Flying Scotsman ;D) and will strart practicing... So nice. It reminds me of American children's book illustrations from the late 30s - early 40s. Like Virginia Lee Burton in Choo Choo. Have you ever worked in illustration. If not, you should shop your stuff around.

Our lovely nonsensefairy not only makes dolls and great prints but handbags as well. I hope you don't mind me posting these pics here, but I wanted to show everyone the fantastic 'James' handbag you made me last year!! As you can see, my cat likes it too! ;D ;D ;D I remember making this, I tried to make everything pink or purple! I'll make you a better one, one day. Now that I can use the sewing machine a bit better! Also, you've just reminded me to have a peep at where your parcel is at!

Great! I thought Id post one of the photos of my James May doll here, incase no-one visits the fan art section! - because of the slightly messy nature of the wool I used, the doll also reminds me of Robert Smith from the cure!

I just received my birthday present from thenonsensefairy, and she has immortalized me into a fairy!!! Just got to share!! She comes in her own little jar! Her tag says: In this jar is a fairy. This specimen is a Michelle. She is a gardening fairy with a love for all things green. She works all year 'round to grow her own produce. Although she is a green fairy she enjoys the warmth of the indoors especially the warmth of cats. To take care of her you must expose her to interesting literature, cake and as much James May as possible.Love! Love! Love it! ;D ;D ;D Thank-you so much, thenonsensefairy! You're so very talented!! ;D

I just posted loads of other drawings, but I put them with the other drawings I've drawn, since it's nicer I think tp put everything together instead of posting something now and then on different pages in this thread. Have fun (or not ;D ) !

Well, to be honest, now that Im older, I think I kind of am accepting my drawings... I now see and dare to say that they're not as bad as I firstly thought, however, I'd never say they're good But thank you................................

Holy CRAP Nat. Those are AMAZING. Not everything you do is going to look good or perfect in your eyes, and that's okay. Drawing (or any kind of art) is a process and every piece you do is a learning experience in some way. I've got a boatload of practice sketches that do look horrible, but that wasn't the point of them. We did them in class to improve hand-eye coordination. Also I wonder if my teacher wasn't trying to drive some of that perfectionist thinking out of our heads. So quit telling us your stuff's far from perfect that gets posted here! Because it's really freaking good.

I believe you yes, I mean, why would you lie if it isnt to let me continue make drawings because you see something in my drawings that can eventually one day make me draw good drawings ;D ;D , but I have this... complicated, weirdo mind that keeps telling me it isn't good..!! What you say does make sense, though, yes...

Here's one I finished up last night. Or very early this morning. I will take a better picture of this when I get a chance. If I remember. Maybe. For those of you who've seen my photos of Madison, yes that is the city skyline as viewed from the south, on Lake Monona. Done in oil pastel. Took a HECK of a lot more work than I thought. Using a black sheet of paper? Yeah, not my smartest move. I had to really layer on the color to cover up all the black spots of paper peeking through, but once I'd started, I didn't want to start over. I suppose the black paper had some use when I did the building details-used a bamboo skewer to scrape away. It took forever. I have told my husband and cat that if it gets smudged before I get a chance to put fixative on and frame it (the photo looks horrible but I'm really happy with how it turned out), they are going to get hurt very badly.

I like it a lot, you sure do have patients with all the details in the buildings. Especially all those tiny windows!! Im going to upload two pictures. One is a drawing I made of a fictional mental asylum patient, and one is and infant fairy I just finished.
