I quite like my man most of the time, but there are times when he gets on his high horse and has a good rant and rave.

Channel 9 - Australia. Kiss my big a**. I have just watched Ep 3 of the Series 15 and do you think they could show all 6 eps in a row? No because that's not what they do. They are showing the Botswana special next week, which is brilliant, but I can't imagine that a lot of people haven't already seen it. It is all on Youtube. Channel 9 are notorious for doing this - they take a show people love, and then totally mess about with it by not showing it all in one hit. And then the TV execs wonder why people are downloading things illegally from the internet. Grrrrrrrrr

My favorite thing about channel 9 is that everything starts 10 minutes late and you miss the end of all your taped shows.

Channel 9. Don't get me started. (I suppose I should be relieved that with all this rain, my digital receiver is chucking a spazz so epically awesome that I can't even pick up Channel 7, let alone Nine... "Still the One" for bollocksing about with your favorite shows!) FWIW, I haven't seen the Botswana special just yet, but since that's part of one of the box sets that I ordered off Amazon.co.uk which I haven't got around to yet (I erm... *cough* overdosed on Oz and James, and James by himself first, and am just not getting around to the TG specials!) well, I don't have to wait for Channel Nine. A question for those who've been following these things longer than I - was SBS any better at not stuffing the viewers around, than Nine? (I suspect I know the answer to this already; I'm just asking out of curiosity. I'd have watched Top Gear on SBS myself, only back then I had a useless other half who used to whine when I put any show with British accents on the telly... but yeah, I've already ranted and raved about THAT waste of space more than enough!)

I think SBS are usually better but I don't know specifically about TG. Whenever I have watched a series on SBS they show them week in, week out. Funnily enough, the exception is Oz and James' Britain series! They showed the first 4 and then stopped because they are having some special Food theme shows for the month of August. I hope they show the rest of it in Sept.

My favorite thing about channel 9 is that everything starts 10 minutes late and you miss the end of all your taped shows. I tape the Footy Show each week and I always make sure I let the tape run till 11.30-11.45pm to catch all of it. Channel 9 suck!!!!!!!!!!!! I never watched The Sopranos but I know people were always pi*sed at how they moved it around to a different timeslot each week. Sometimes at 11pm, then at 2.30am, then back to 11.30pm! I know it's only telly, and there are more important things going on in the world, but come on! TG is all I have right now - I would like to watch all 6 episodes in row please!!!!!!!! I should write a letter.

I rescind my previous R & R! The 4th new episode will be shown at 7.30pm on Tues as it should be with the Botswana special following! Hurrah!

Traffic jams - how do people tolerate them?
Where I live there are a few traffic blackspots but locals know how to avoid them. I was lucky enough to only have a 7-minute journey to work, 6 if the traffic was quiet.
Today I went to Southport shopping and mistimed things so I was coming back late afternoon. I was in a jam for 40 minutes in the pouring rain coming out of the town, and for no reason whatsoever stuck in another one for 30 minutes between Southport and Preston. I'm just not used to it!
Thankfully I had some good CDs so I did a bit of loud singing and some seat-boogying. Got me some funny looks but at least I was entertaining myself!

ARGH people sometimes! For the past year me and a group of 3 friends have been working towards getting our Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award and the final expedition is tomorrow. About an hour ago one of the people said he's not going anymore cause he's got 'too much homework' which is pants cause he said he hasn't got any work at college and he really just doesn't want to share a tent with another guy... so i'm annoyed at him not going and annoyed at him lying. And to make matters worse he was the map reader cause the rest of us haven't a clue what we're doing! I chose Physics instead of Geography so i'm useless. But as i've been looking for a crash course in map reading, I remember that you must have 4 or more people in your group to complete your expedition! blargh! So thank you mister, all this hard work has been for nothing because you can't grow up and share a tent with someone?!? rant over

Has someone got a defribrilator handy - i think I am dead I have just got home from the most tediously boring meeting I have ever attended in my life, thank god the lunch was yummy. Boy is my boss going to get an ear bashing on monday over sending 25+ staff to a meeting they really didn't need to go to, that wasn't aimed at admin staff at all, it was for clinicians and was so jargonistic i have several partings in my hair now When it came to "any questions" I stood up, took the mike and asked why are we, as admin staff, here? (small ripple of applause) The speaker couldn't give me answer - says it all really Thank goodness for Dave and TG and a nice cuppa (and this board) to calm my nerves ;D

Is there some brain disconnect that prevents my husband from putting his garbage and recycling in the proper containers instead of leaving me to do it for him?! We have seriously been having this argument for MONTHS now, and he still manages to not throw a f****ng thing away, just walks PAST the garbage can/recycling bin and puts it on the kitchen counter so I get to throw it away. I found another five pieces of rubbish this morning when I woke up, just waiting for me to dispose of them. I'm about to start putting them on his side of the bed! I did make a fairly nice dinner last night(nearly had a major kitchen incident, luckily avoided THAT...if barely), turned down his offer of help because 1) our kitchen is TINY and there's barely room for one person in there and 2) he's not the most confident chef, so he offered to do the dishes instead. Great, I hate doing dishes. So guess what else I get to do today? *RAGE*

I hear ya'! MOH will find something in the refrigerator that has gone way past it's use by date, but instead of throwing it away he will do one of two things: 1. put it back in the refrigerator 2. set it on top of the rubbish bin I think there is a testosterone blockage somewhere!

Antonia told me to rant and rave, possibly because it's healthy to let it out, so here goes. Some (insert any expletives you want in here) from a collection agency called my husband at work on his office phone inquiring about my medical bills. I've been talking DIRECTLY to the people at the clinic and have hardship papers because surprise surprise, I can't pay $3000. I got the hardship papers sent to me THIS WEEK. No letters from a collection agency, but my husband is now absolutely furious. My parents were never that great at managing money before the recession so I had a bit of practice at this as a kid, don't think he ever did. Still....why the hell have I now got a collection agency set on me when I've been talking directly to them and have the hardship papers here? Which are being mailed in tomorrow I might add? If they don't change my bill I'll be back in here to rant about that. Apparently the $50 a month I said we could pay was a bit lower than their preferred amount of $150 a month..fine. If that's what you're willing to accept as a payment, hope you're feeling patient. Word of advice, don't be poor in the USA and get sick. Being treated is a f****ng luxury. And I have to defer my student loans again. Would someone PLEASE employ me here so I can pay my f****ng bills? For the curious, I got some seriously debilitating stomach pains last November, to the point I couldn't sleep I was hurting so much-it's kind of recurring, but it was REALLY bad in November. They suspected I had gall bladder disease(family history, my mother's had it, but I live a damn healthy life compared to her) and I got sent in for fairly expensive tests four times. I had gastritis and pretty sure I've still got an ulcer or two. Generic Prilosec took care of the severe stomach pains. I kinda feel bitter about the whole experience, since at the end they told me they had no clue what was wrong with me and I was essentially told to start over with the tests again. At that point, a month after starting, the prilosec had started working and I was feeling a lot better. The whole thing kinda left me feeling like they were just sending me for test after test to get more money. I was charged $500 just for spending 10 minutes in a consultation appointment with a surgeon. I wasn't even planning to rant about that past experience but it's gonna haunt me until I can pay it off apparently. Now I'm not in the mood to go to a doctor about my sinus infection although it keeps coming back because once again, I'll be overcharged to be told what I already know and then given a script for antibiotics...which are free if I go to the right pharmacy, but I can't get them without a prescription, which I need an appointment for, and...and... AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! I was working overnight stock shift at a major toy store chain, and I couldn't take much time off without losing my job. Got my hours severely cut due to getting the flu much more severely than the rest of my coworkers and I couldn't stand up for 2 days. Good times. But I was able to do hard labor while in so much pain I couldn't sleep. *pours a glass of wine, cause screw this crap* I'm not bitter at all. In not as serious news, the Red Wings got absolutely killed in last night's game, which was kind of depressing to hear about. 10-3. We haven't lost that badly since the 90's! That is an obscenely horrible score, but in our defense, our two goalies are out on injury, among a few other players. Still think we're a shoo-in for the playoffs, but good lord last night's game was a massive train wreck.

Like the other members here, I cannot stand channel 9, in fact I can't stand television nowadays, it's getting worse in my point-of-view. I find myself preoccupying myself with other things like reading, painting, playing guitar, etc, etc.

*blows cobwebs from thread - coughs and begins typing* Can someone please reassure me that all men are not complete and utter insensitive, selfish, obnoxious w*****s My daughters car broke down this morning on route to work (for the second time this week) she did as her Dad instructed her to earlier in the week and rang him to let him know, presumably so he could offer support and help. How wrong could I be! What she got was a lecture on managing her money and how she shouldn't be going on holiday, if she hasn't got any savings for things like broken cars!!! Well excuse her for having a life! Meanwhile she remains on the side of the road with a car that won't start! I had to go and get her having put her on my car insurance and sort things out with her. Jesus (excuse blasephemy) i swear to god this man - sorry prat - has lost his sense of priorities. It appears that as long as his life and his GF life is A1, every one can go **** themselves. I reminded him that he's the one that has borrowed 4K for a second car, when they already have one thats sit on the drive 6 days a week, because the GF can't drive the one they have and for the record she works a 5 minute walk from her place of work. "Thats not the point" - apparently! Sorry but who's wasting money (I know he hasn't got) now I am livid with his attitude towards my daughter this morning, there was absolutely no need for it. He got the sharp end of my tongue I can tell you, which, i think, shocked him a bit; he seems to think I'm the weak pathetic person I was when we split 5 years ago - wrong - i'm a stronger person now and won't put up with his cr*p anymore Breathes.... So please tell me are there any good men out there who treat their felsh and blood with the respect they deserve?? Apart from our james of course - boy i could do with a hug from him right now Thanks for listening/reading ;D

Jacqui, I'm so sorry to hear what happened. Looks like your prat of an ex has it in mind to rear his head now the divorce process has started. Clearly the man is a complete emotional imbecile, and it's clear that his GF is too (car doesn't get used cos she 'can't drive it'? Dear God!)
How mean to leave your daughter by the side of the road! I'm so pleased that you gave hime what-for, as that's just the sort of thing these bullies need - and it is bullying, playing the 'superior' card. And yes, there are good men out there, though it seems they take a fair bit of finding, and they probably outnumber the prats!

Sorry to hear that, jacqui. Still, good on you that you told him off! Must feel good on many levels. It may be a small comfort but I believe I know several examples of the species "good man", my beloved mr Hops for one. *here's a bucket for the sick* Now get your arse into the NC for some James hugs! And, you might want to take a look at those TG filming piccies again, esp. the one of the two of you posing as a couple.

See, there is another one out there! ;D ;D Seriously?? He was going to leave his daughter by the side of the road in trouble? Does he not have one ounce of compassion? He apparently has pounds (or kilos if you wish) of blatant stupidity! I'm glad you ranted at him. It's exactly what he deserves or as Jeremy put it, a million insects in his underpants!!

That sounds quite dramatic, I'm guessing someone has upset/irritated you. Yes, there are quite a few thickies about, no end of explaining will get through to them. In the words of Michael Winner 'calm down dear,' and go get a good dose of James - the intelligent one.
