Quite happily, since my family has always had dogs, most of the people on our street have dogs as well. Everyone used to have cats and I think there are only 2 left now. Can't stand cats!

"Hi James,we have lots of cats in my street, come look at the evidence, but mind the cat poo!!" Thats an invite I'd turn down.

Sadly, all the cats round this way are very wary and unfriendly. I wish I knew why - all the cats that live in my mum's road are lovely friendly things, but here they wouldn't touch me with somebody else's bargepole

From Twitter: Man Lab needs your help...Do you live in a friendly street with lots of cats? If so email manlab@plumpictures.co.uk It's a shame they weren't here in the 90's; there were a lot more cats running around my neighborhood, but I live near the animal shelter, so they get picked up quickly. I live with 3 cats and one of them I never see. The friendliest one thinks she is a dog and rolls over on her back to greet me whenever I come home from school. She is a Siamese/ragdoll mix. It'd give James an excuse to come back to CA and visit all the beach bunny Mayhemers. Like we'd have to flog him into doing that. ;D

I love the little girly at the back of the bus, with her pink bow, fluttering eyelashes and her mouth opening and shutting all the time!

True. This sentence is really ambiguous
I am looking forward to welcoming a television crew next week who will be filming part of the build-up to this year’s Grand National with James May, as well as a section for his series Man Lab.
It certainly sounds as if some of the filming is for Man Lab 3, but also seems to suggest that there will be filming for something else, but I can't imagine James doing a piece for Man Lab AND a piece for Top Gear at the same time in the same place.

If the Mayman is coming to Miseryside I am your woman on a mission to seek him out..... I think the filming is in Cornwall, but it might feasibly continue in Aintree. Can't imagine the racecourse is exactly James' ideal environment - remember him on a horse in Twentieth Century? Never seen a man so ill at ease! ;D

Yes, I don't know whose eyes were rolling in panic more - James' or the horse's!

Just to add to the confusion, this tweet came through around 9.30 today so we know he's at Pond House, but it still doesn't tell us which programme James is recording for.
David Pipe Racing - Busy morning with film crews compiling footage for Grand National coverage with Top Gear presenter James May.

The only performance this horse looks likely to be thinking of is one involving dumping large dollops of doo-doo on the nearest road. Though to be honest, it does look as if James is so uncomfortable that he might be considering following suit!

I agree, the horse is paying attention to what is going on in front of him (at least just judging from that picture alone) including the camera crew. This horse may not be used to all the people around his head, so he is keeping an eye on what is going on. Horses can't see directly in front of them (like we can), only really at shoulder level without turning their head. It's a shame neither Silje nor I could be there; both of us are horse people and I'm sure we could've come up with several ways to calm him and the horse, if need be. He looks so majestic being on a white horse, but it's a pity he's so uncomfortable. And I should probably move my next thought to the NC where it belongs... ;D

I'm watching the Boat Race, with the two segments of Oz and James, and Clare Balding has just said that James will be with her at Aintree next weekend for the Grand National "as part of his Man Lab".
Which is great info, and clearly connected to James' recent visit to David Pipe's stables - apart from the fact that I have strong feelings against the Grand National because of the damage to and deaths of horses that happens every year. I hope that whatever James is going to do, it's going to be innocuous.

Info from the horse's mouth, as it were - from the David Pipe stables website (more in the NC)
"James was compiling footage for the build-up to the Grand National, as well as a piece for his series Man Lab which will feature him learning to become a racing commentator."
So now we know.

So when Claire Balding said she would be joined by James at Aintree, maybe he has a proper film within the coverage, rather than just a quick interview with her. Doesn't sound like his normal thing, but who knows?

Whichever way he arrives, either by car or plane he will have to pass the bottom of my road on his way to Aintree so I am camping out with a stinger. I think the restraining order will have expired by then.....

I think the restraining order will have expired by then..... He couldn't arrive by plane to Aintree... The scousers would nick his wings! If he comes by car, his tyres will go Either way Liverbird, he will be deserted and in need of food and refreshment. Save him from the "calm downers"

The scousers love James - we actually think he is a closet scouser. I'll "look after" him, no worries on that. He can have as many pies and pints as he can handle.
