to start with - I didn't know they were there!
And all I am doing this week is a spot of fence building (note I resisted the temptation to say erecting!) for my son!
Nothing that couldn't/wouldn't have been put off for a couple of hours!

The little expedition to the Yorkshire area has just become more complex. Jeremy and James seemed quite happy yesterday to go along with the idea that they were filming for Top Gear, but today would seem to be different. In response to various fan-sightings, Jezza seems quite keen to point out that Top Gear isn't in the picture. Is today's filming, therefore, part of the James/Jeremy 'secret project'?
From Twitter: (F=fan comment, J=Jeremy) F: Hello......TOP GEAR filming in Richmond......now
J: I can assure you Top Gear isn't filming anywhere today.
F: Ahhh what! I saw one of your discoverys in my town an I am sure I saw a long haired man in a white convertible behind!
F: that explains why on my way to work a white convertable passed me with a cameraman sat in the passenger seat
J: It is NOT Top Gear

Excellent, amie8! The view's always better when the top's down, I think. Something about the fresh air reviving body and spirit... Anyone seen that bus on its return journey? Think I'll have to be....elsewhere....to finish that thought!

Update - one of the reasons for the Yorkshire 'jaunt' was definitely to film for the Christmas DVD. I've started a thread in the 'James - TV, radio , books and DVD' thread, as I'm not sure where else to put it. There's a cracking interview from the Whitby Gazette there.

According to their twitter accounts, the boys are embarking on a Pan-European race starting tonight at 3:30 a.m. Richard and James will be traveling using public transport and Jeremy will be in a car, but the way they're making it sound there's going to be a twist. I have a feeling they'll be tweeting and taking pix along the way, so that's something cool to look forward to. Also, James might be drunk.

I just looked back at the beginning of this thread, as I remember starting it very soon after the last series finished. Did anyone ever find out what the Hiluxes were for?

Thanks for posting that, slfriend.
Sneaky peak at what appears to be a cheap car challenge in there, so things are shaping up in typical fashion

Can't verify this, but Iain May (TG cameraman) has posted this pic onto twitter with the comment "Travelling light with TG" nickgeorge25 hs posted the comment on FG "A closer inspection of the tickets reveal a flight for 1OCT12 (today) on British Airways #63, LHR (London Heathrow) to EBB (Entebbe, Uganda)." Doesn't actually say who's going.....

Mmmmm.....Uganda......surrounded by some pretty nasty hotspots. The mind boggles. Doesn't seem that James is going though. He's at home according to twitter.

That's an awful lot of tickets, surely too many for just a single-presenter piece. If it's a big adventure, I've no doubt the crew fly out first to get things set up and get some shots. The other thing that points to the possibility of an adventure is that Jeremy went to Uganda a while ago with his daughter. These trips often turn out to be reconnaissance missions for the next trip. They're all needed in this country for TGL later this month, of course
We shall no doubt see over the coming days.

Uganda would appear to be on. James has just tweeted
"I've just done a most unusual interview on Absolute Radio for tomorrow. Fortunately I will have left the country for two weeks by then."
Two weeks? Must be a biggie.

Must be all of them then. Didn't James say about Richard "if he ever gets here...", meaning London. Probably going together. Good gracious, the things we muse about!!
