If there are any Trekkies among us, check out the Google home page, which today celebrates the 46th anniversary of Star Trek. See if you can find the tribbles - it took me three goes. I love the Google celebration pages. I wish they were archived somewhere. I'm a major Trekkie. Old or new, it doesn't matter. There is an archive, luckily. www.google.com/doodles/finder/2012/All%20doodles

Wow! Thanks for that, AM. I love the off-the-wall nature of the GoogleDoodles. I especially liked the Moog keyboard.
Now I can have a good play with the Doodles whenever I feel like it!

I'm probably off topic here and what else is new?! Did anyone get a survey from Top Gear in their email asking if you want to be on a panel? I filled out the required information and sent it back. It sounds interesting.

Yes, I received that, too. I doubt that I'll get asked to be on the panel, though. They gave a lot of warnings about expecting a lot of responses. But, hey, you never know.

It was an email invitation to complete a survey & request to join a "consumer panel". Here's the web address it went to to submit it. I could be gullible & it could turn out to be a scam ;D www.topgearconsumerpanel.com/registration

It's kind of funny, but Star Trek brought me to sci-fi conventions, which brought me to hubby, who nudged me toward Doctor Who, and from there I got attached to BBC America, and discovered Top Gear and of course James!
So, thank you Star Trek.
I'm traveling the state once again. The drive to my parents' place is lovely if I don't get behind big trucks. I mostly avoided it this time. And found my sunglasses, so it was really very nice.
I hope everyone is having a terrific weekend!

It's Classic Car Show day in the park, and I'm going out - poo! I'll have to try and snatch half an hour over there with the camera. The park gate is opposite my bedroom window, so I've been watching some of them arrive. It's odd what seems to qualify as classic these days (Smart Roadster?) but the amount of work and care lavished on these old girls and boys is rather splendid.
Last year, there was a red GT6. If it's there this year, I'll pop a photo on the board (now I've worked out how to). It might be Dit's mate, although a long way from Dit territory.

Coo, I'd be interested in seeing that, amie8! The only other one I definitely know of (in red) lives in Southport, and I have seen one near Lancaster (though it could have been the same one). I can't remember where you live? People tend to not travel too far from home, just in case! I never leave home in mine without my credit card and mobile phone!
I'm taking part in a car treasure hunt this afternoon and for once I'm not driving, I'm navigating, so don't be surprised if you don't hear from me again till late in the day!

I was out of town camping and missed reading the board over the past week but I have to say...kind of nice coming back to Star Trek postings. ;D I know, on the JMB? What am I thinking? Actually I'm hopped up on allergy meds like none other so it's possible I'm not thinking that much.

Oh wow! Lucky you! It's times like this that I wish I lived nearer London; very little of interest gets filmed in the North (though I have been to two recordings of The News Quiz for radio 4).
No wonder you're excited - you can give Miranda a further wave for me to add to DMC's, but more importantly, grab Tom Ellis, snog him mercilessly, then tell him it was from me (and report back afterwards!).

I haven't had the email about the survey panel *sniff*. I've registered over the last couple of years for newsletters, in fact I think I've registered about three times, but they send one or two then I never hear from them again. It's a bit like having an unreliable long-distance boyfriend!

I followed up the e-mail link further up the page but it said that the survey panel is now full and they're only accepting names for a waiting list, so I don't think I'll bother. I'd be interested in what happens for those who are accepted, though!

Received a confirmation today, too, that I was accepted to the panel, but all it said was to expect a short survey every 1-2 months. Was kind of hoping they would say to come to the TG office to talk about the show ...wishful thinking. ;D
