Spotted the bit of self-promotion. Isn't that against house rules, or is that just on the BBC message boards?
I can see my glorious portrait of James above, among others, so Bucket seems to be working now.

Read this on tumblr this morning and it really made me smile (thanks to oh-sn4p)
Instead of getting periods can girls just get a text once a month from nature saying “you’re not pregnant have a nice day”

For the first time this year my central heating (automatic setting) was on when I woke up this morning. So although the sun is shining brightly and there isn't a cloud in the blue sky, I know it must actually be Autumn!

I know. I wore a sweater yesterday for the first time in a while (although it's been a crappy summer, I refuse to wear anything knitted between the months of May and September) and I've had to drag out my corduroy coat. Only upside - two quid in the coat pocket. And an old tissue, but never mind. Can't have everything.

Shush you cool weather people! It's still 95F/35C here. You should see my AC bill. Yesterday was my 16th wedding anniversary. We weren't able to go out to do something but we stayed in and had a nice time. It constantly amazes me the trouble that companies go to to decorate their product. This is the INSIDE of the cage for the cork on the champagne.

Congratulations adrianmay! I love those flutes as well. Have a great time at the recording Jac. No guarantee of getting in? That seems a strange way for the BBC to run things.

They always send more tickets than they have seats to ensure a full audience, all TV audience companies do it i believe.
We're getting there earlier enough (i think!) we should be okay! ;D

Congrats, adrianmay! Some of the best annivs are at home. Not necessarily quiet, but at home. Your mileage may vary I'm 1hr 40 mins from finishing a weekend at work. They happen rarely enough, I shouldn't complain, but golly I'll be glad when 5 pm rolls around! Other than that, a lovely autumn day.

Evening! Hope everyone is warm and dry this evening Unlike i was last night waiting outside the BBC studios in the rain with very inappropriate footwear on Worth it though, got in no problems and what a brilliant evening it was, sworn to secrecy over content but it was hillarious. Miranda was on top form although she said at the beginning she felt below par due to bug, Tom Ellis is too good looking for his own good (and my health!) and i take my hat off to the warm up guy whose dry wit and chat kept us ticking over nicely between scene changes etc. What a well organised bunch the BBC are - others take note ;D Can't wait for next sunday to do it all again. In the meantime Michael McIntyre on wednesday to look forward to! ;D ;D

Morning all. Somehow, I've managed to upgrade myself to making three fancy dress costumes for next weekend. None of them are finished - hell, one of them hasn't even been started yet ;D I do love a deadline. Sewing like mad round here - or rather, hat making and embroidering.

Sewing like mad round here - or rather, hat making and embroidering. Sounds like the perfect sort of thing to be doing while you're at home with the babe - even though the deadlines sounds a bit disconcerting! .....what a brilliant evening it was, sworn to secrecy over content but it was hillarious.....Miranda was on top form.....Tom Ellis is too good looking for his own good (and my health!) Can't wait for next sunday to do it all again You're going again next week? How did you wangle that? Is Tom Ellis just as gorgeous as you expected or even better? And Michael McIntyre on Wednesday to look forward to! Your chuckle muscle will be exhausted by this time next week. Not that I'm jealous, of course!

Are there shows recorded at the Salford centre, Dit? More your neck of the woods etc etc. As I'm off work this week (wanna know who to blame for the rain?) I've been reviewing the history of my town - which is abundant. Today, the museum of social history, including a display devoted to the Taylor family whose daughter, Jane together with her sister Ann, wrote poetry for children including "The Star", which is now known as "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star". Betcha didn't know that. I'm now i-playering Nigella Lawson, pen and paper in hand. Whatever you think of her and her presentation style, her food is always really simple and easy for a kitchen klutz like me to cope with. Not too sure about meatza, though...

The hubby and I used to go up to LA for tapings of shows when my mother was alive and we only had one small child. The waiting to get in (or maybe not) and the waiting around during the tapings (that probably won't end on time) don't really fit with our schedules any more. Too bad, it was an interesting experience to see shows filmed and then see them on TV. Didn't someone one here go to see QI last year?

A rainy start to the day! Which is good. But it does mean I'm scrambling to find a jacket and umbrella. The umbrella is still missing, but I'll just dodge raindrops when I leave work.
Three green shirts at work. I must have missed the memo. I am beige.

Off today because it is Yom Kippur. The county in which I work observes it while the county I live doesn't.Things are quite different here on the east coast as far as religious holidays and days off. Since I am considered temporary I won't get paid. Well, time away from the ravages of children with concentration and other unknown problems is good. I feel sorry for the kids tho.

It's chilly and damp. My 'hot' coffee is not living up to its name. My internet is slow today, but that could be because I'm downloading borrowing some BBC shows to watch later. *sigh* Is it almost time for lunch??
Have a great time tonight, jacqui! Blow Michael a kiss from me!! ;D ;D ;D
