The Newsroom is excellent. Jeff Daniels is outstanding. It was nice to see Sam Waterston also.I've seen Emily Mortimer in a while. For some reason I get the Emilys mixed up. Mortimer and Blunt.

I'm watching Barnstaple to Biddeford Round 1 on BBCA. I don't think they are going to follow it up with 2011 episode where we got those beautiful sunset pictures.

I'm watching it, too. I loved the episode of the Plasticene garden; this has been fun since I've never seen this series before!

Thanks for the heads up. I caught some of it in between chores. I'd never seen most of these episodes before either.

I actually have a Toy Stories DVD now for the region-free player but I haven't had a chance to watch it all. Summer is just too busy!

Any UK posters watching the Shakespeare on BBC2? Dit? You're a drama kinda gal..
I enjoyed Richard II last week, though not sure why Ben Wishaw chose to play him as a cross between Moriarty and Mr Humphries from "Are You Being Served"
Anyhoo - Henry IV tonight

I've got to be honest, the Histories are my least favourites. I love Shakespeare from every angle really (reading, acting, directing) but the Richards and the Henries leave me cold and always have done!
I gave Richard II a good try last week but gave up after about half an hour, mainly for the reason you stated, amie8 - I found Ben Wishaw irritating. I'm going to wait and try Henry IV on iPlayer tomorrow afternoon.
At the moment I'm waiting for Mrs Brown's Boys. I didn't 'get it' the first time round but now I love it.

I did get it the first time around, and am re-enjoying it again.

Henry IV will have to wait until tomorrow now - requires too much concentration for this time of night.
Tonight's bit of trivia (Richard II related) did you know that what would have been the royal line of succession, had Bolingbroke not usurped the crown, continues to this day and has been traced to the family of an Australian haulage contractor?

Just went on YouTube and watched the Shooting Stars episode with James.
I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, but it does make me laugh. He showed great fortitude at the end........
And he was wearing the blue velvet jacket of loveliness.

Amie8, the documentary 'Jeremy Irons on the Henrys' after the play was excellent, well worth a watch if you didn't catch it. I never really rated him (I saw him play Richard II years ago as a student and could never work out whether he was a weak actor playing a weak king, or a good actor playing a weak king!) but he was impressive in this. Made me more interested in the plays.

Just seen the first 2 episodes of new Top Gear Series 1. No James (obviously), some tubby bloke called Jason (rather awful), and (most shocking of all), lots and lots of FACTS! They actually reviewed in great detail a couple of NORMAL cars. Things have changed a lot. Jezza has hardly any man-baby and Richard looks about 12!

Nice to see a bit of action and variety, instead of all this standing on the baseline and thunking the ball back and forth

Following American Werewolf with Time Bandits. I have a 1981 theme going. "Mom, Dad It's evil! Don't touch it!".
Edit: If I keep following this theme I could watch these other 1981 films: Raiders of the Lost Ark, On Golden Pond, Arthur, Stripes, Chariots of Fire, The Four Seasons, Clash of the Titans, Taps, Excalibur, Gallipoli, The Great Muppet Caper (Hee, hee). Gee, not too bad of a year.

Wow, An American Werewolf In London! That takes me back. I can remember sneaking out of my room late at night to watch it on the late, late show! And Time Bandits is just fantastic! Push over on the sofa and pass the popcorn! ;D ;D

AM I follow Stephen Fry on twitter and he mentioned yesterday he was going to see "Chariots of Fire" because it was the first movie he was in. He sure has come a long way.

Poor Andy. I was so convinced that he would be the one to unseat the iceman Federer.

Sorry for the double posting here. Just finished watching the old Top Gear where the guys went from North Carolina to New York, and then had a race across Manhattan to reach the TV studio. It never fails to make me giggle to see James in a yoga class, looking so miserable with that "What the @$%# am I doing here?" expression on his face!

Agreed about the Proms, jacqui, very enjoyable! It never fails to make me giggle to see James in a yoga class, looking so miserable with that "What the @$%# am I doing here?" expression on his face! Lynnemezzo, there's a full length version of that yoga programme knocking around. I was certain I had it as a download, but I can't find it or track it down on the board. Can anyone help? It's well worth watching the whole 30 minutes; James' facial expressions are excellent!

Can anyone help? It's well worth watching the whole 30 minutes; James' facial expressions are excellent! If you go to youtube and enter "James May's Top Gear Yoga" you'll find it in three parts. The first two are about 11 minutes long and the third is shorter. It's definitely well worth watching; bless the poor guy, he really tried! It couldn't have been easy in jeans, either.
