Because of her, the London meetings are no longer generally announced, they've become invite only. Are you serious?!

its unfair on everyone that some one acts like that , but if they have real problems maybe people so take this into account and be a little tolerate and let James' people deal with it. I have seen similar happen @ top gear with all the boys and at the end of the days they know how to deal with those who are geniunly ill and those who are just nuts

all i can say is james was so sweet with us especially as we were all ill and he took time to check we were ok, but I can see why everyone is getting a little upset about it. I work on the rule never touch and if the other person leans in or touches its their choice.

I'm back and I made it back from Leadenhall wher I left the others having lunch. And yes he looked lovely, Oz was rather cool too he helped me with silent auction thing I'm sorting out, whilst James was on his mobile as he had a call and that threw me off my thinking. *palm against forehead* Oz is exactly as he is on the TV. James looked a little subdued, can't put my finger on what but he seemed delighted with the little plane I gave him. It was all a little rushed but he was as lovely as ever . Yes the Belstaff jacket was lovely but thrown by his eyes They did have a trade booksigning before the Leadenhall one. Vix didn't crash into anyone and was blown away by Oz ;D You're doing a silent auction? Wow!

So glad to hear that those of you who braved the cold and rain had a great time at the signing(s) yesterday. I'm sorry to have not been there, but on this particular instance my career did have to come first, and very useful the day was too. I am, of course, incandescent to hear that yet again someone felt they had the right to invade James's personal space... Hopefully if that person is reading the comments on this board, they'll be ashamed of their behaviour. Just because Oz does it doesn't mean you can... It wasn't anyone from here who did this, they were a further way down the queue. And yes it's not very good for public relations Thank you rnadom for clarifying this and I think some posts have been misread along the way. Just to clarify, because it appears that MY post has been misread along the way, that I was NOT suggesting the groper in question was a member of this board. I was however suggesting that as this particular board is public, they may well be reading it...

Thanks for posting all the pictures and stories! I'm happy you all had a fun time. I'm enjoying living vicariously thorough you lucky lot. Rnadom, That's so scary about your panic attack. I'm so sorry that happened to you. Panic attacks are no fun, especially when your vision goes wonky.

With feelings of 'I wish it was me going to the book signings' I looked up Leadenhall on the map on Tuesday night. No way could I get to that, at a pinch I knew that I could perhaps get an afternoon off work. As a teaching assistant it is frowned upon to have any time off other than school holidays because there are so many of them Luckily I had been to a lot of unpaid meetings so they couldn't refuse me an afternoon. I'm not very brave though and the thought of travelling across London was nightmarish anyway. Then I remembered reading on here that they were signing somewhere else. (Thank you, thank you, thank you ladies.) When I saw that it was St Pancras I began to have a glimmer of hope. I could work in the morning, drive to Derby and then get the train straight to St Pancras. My daughter was saying "you know how much you would love to go", she was egging me on bless her, she knows I'm a wimp I decided to go for it. On Wednesday I asked for and got Thursday afternoon off. When I got home from work I booked train tickets. The fact that if needs be I could just stay in the station made me more confident. And so to yesterday, at St. Pancras I found Foley's bookshop and went inside, this was well after four and there were only three customers and no sign of any preparation for a book signing. Panic, was this the wrong place, the wrong day! I asked the lad behind the till, phew! he said that this was the place. I bought my book, (I'd already got one off Amazon for half the price) and went outside again. I talked to a lady who looked as though she was on a mission, just like me, and it turned out to be Starfish!! Hello Starfish, lovely to meet you. We went into the shop to queue when it was coming up to five and there was about a dozen people starting to line up. Oz and James were 10 mins late and by then there were a few more people, 30 tops I'd say. The guys started signing straight away. As the line moved through, more joined the end but it was never crowded. All too soon it was my turn to meet them. Although I didn't feel desperately nervous it's all pretty much a blur! I had my Maid of Astolat t shirt on, so James said something like, so you are the Maid of Astolat are you? I remember talking to Oz about our names and he asked me where I came from. He must have thought that I'd come from further north than Derbyshire by my accent. I also remember telling James that three people had left comments about my poem. Scarf man, with my camera, had already taken a pic of me stood behind the pair. When I had recovered and took a look at the pic they looked great but dozy me had my eyes shut!! I must be getting very brave in my old age because I thought, right, I'll join the end of the queue again and ask very politely if I could have another taken. After less than ten minutes I was at the front again and they said that was fine. I think it was James that said "one with your eyes open this time" I am a twiglet I thought!! As I walked round the back of James' chair I do remember thinking, wow! I'm this close to James May. I would never think of touching him though, I thought that I might get to shake their hands but it was too informal for that. The lady that was handing them the books took a couple of pics for me and checked that they were ok, which was very good of her. Starfish and me moved to the far side of the bookshop and just watched them then till they went. I still had 3 hours to kill after that and I did take a walk out of the station, got some fast food and admired the architecture. I spent the rest of the time texting my family and friends telling them that they would have to scrape me off the ceiling on Friday. I'm so glad that I faced my scaredy cat demons. I dont think that I will have that chance again unless of course the thousands of people in the queue for Top Gear tickets all suddenly disappear, and even then the chances of talking to James are very slim. They are two lovely guys. James came across as being uncomfortable (and no wonder) but he was still the 'star' and was reserved but very polite and pleasant. Oz was much more jolly and friendly and he said goodbye to me as they left. It was a day to remember. Thank you to my lovely daughter for persuading me to go x x x x Well that's my account of yesterday, lovely for me to re-live it again. Hope I haven't bored you too much. Elaine

I'm fine with London, lived there for five years, and used to buy my lunch in Leadenhall every day... would have been nice to see my 'old stomping ground'!

Thank you to everyone for their kind comments on my review & Photos. It was nice to meet with you Elaine. Thanks for your company. Did your photos come out good? I enjoyed your review. Thank you. My photo Of James holding the mug is on my desktop. he looks gorgeous & his eyes are so blue. also as it is the big version I notice James is still having trouble with his eye. It is still red where the infection was. maybe thats why he winked lol cos it was troubleing him. Oh well the thought he meant it was nice while it lasted. WCH had mentioned to me earlier that his eye was red. I just noticed looking at the pic today. Here have 2 more of these.

They're lovely star!... just a thought, when promoting a book called 'Drinks to Britain', you would have thought they'd have promoted it a little further afield?
