Thank you Liz and MG, and sorry that you didn't get there on time Amy. I'm sure it was fate that got me there because I was due to have a very intense assessment on Thursday at school, which I was definitely was not looking forward to I'd also got a dentist appointment. Both were cancelled! I no longer am having the assessment - the dentist's next Tuesday. The way was made clear!

Same here. Got lost on that too. You can tell I'm Miss sense of direction Hello? You me and Tui are all on the same boat there.... I do believe after we left Wy, Ly, Shazzy, Inky and MF, we got lost and had to back track as we went to leadenhall market again, then went back towards where we met Inky.....

Because of her, the London meetings are no longer generally announced, they've become invite only. Are you serious?! It's nothing to do with May fandom, but as I've avoided her online as well, I don't know what else she's interested in. But yes, that fandom's non-event meets, when we're just meeting in a pub or whatever, are now invite-only in London. There used to be a lot more people in London so it was easier to get away from people you didn't like, but a lot of us have moved, which at least means there aren't as many people to invite... I wasn't the only person she upset at that do, and the carer with her wasn't stopping her doing things or trying to tell her why she'd been wrong, just telling those she'd upset that she couldn't help it and they had to make allowances. I suppose people who can't grasp stuff like personal space or what's inappropriate to say are just one of the hazards of being famous, though.

Thanks for the account of the Foyles signing. While St Pancras is a bit trickier for me to get to from here, I wish I'd gone to that one, it sounds like it was a more relaxed affair. Still, here's hoping that James will promote his next book in Manchester!

Or Norwich Or Cambridge Or all three? Pretty please? It's nothing to do with May fandom, but as I've avoided her online as well, I don't know what else she's interested in. I suppose people who can't grasp stuff like personal space or what's inappropriate to say are just one of the hazards of being famous, though. That's one of the reasons I never want to be famous. I can't stand people touching me. At first when I read the initial quote, I was worried. I'm glad you included the rest. Thank you, Random. I don't blame you and I'm sorry that happened to you. I don't handle crowds or chaos very well either.

Hello everyone - just thought I would share my day with ya'll... I went with my friend Neill (dragged along more like it...) and as we got to Waterstones early, decided to go and wet our dry whistles at 11 in the pub next door. Having already popped in the shop, bought the book (how very organazized...) and saw a few skulkers skulking, we sat in pub up the top, tipsily sharing our excitement (or, me going on incessantly at Neill re. James and the signing). A few pints later we had forgot the time, so made haste for the ever growing queue...I couldn't believe how bloody long it was, thspmp. However, we spent a jolly time talking to two pleasant young ladies in front of us in the queue and this passed the time. I did go and have a gander through the window and low and behold James looked at me, he kept looking so I thought, 'Ok, fine' what shall I do now?' So I waved a little wave and smiled and he waved back enthusiastically, he finished waving but carried on looking, so I lost the plot and bolted from the window to the pub toilet to where I was originally heading (darn pints). Never was very good at eye contact. *** By the time i got to the front of the queue, I had absolutely lost any remote plot I once had (which wasn't much in the first place...) and so in my tipsy manner (I didn't feel so bad about having a tipple of Dutch Courage as the two ladies infront of us in the queue had been supping on a civilised glass of wine beforehand) I preceeded to write in my book to James that I really fancied him (whoopsy dasies...) to which he replied that 'he was very embarrassed' (more whoopsy daisies)...and when Neill and the aformentioned photo/scarf man insisted that I have a photo of James and myself, I bumbled round the back (I really did NOT want a photo [too shy] and walked around the back like I was on square casters) and ScarfMan tried to take a snap. Only the camera had switched onto standby and to my utter horror, Scarfman and Neill stood there stretching time into pain whilst trying to turn it back on - meanwhile I am still standing there round the back of James like a chump, feeling like the second fiddle to my stoopid camera, James's leg was going ten to the dozen (I was doing my best to not get too close as I know about above comments - I am like that too, go figure) and through blushing (albeit, behind James's head so he wouldn't have seen, thank GOD) I was emitting heat not unlike that of a small volcano, I made the informed decision to sack the Scarfman and Neill from my further impending shame and Linford Christied it for the door. So much for Dutch Courage. Well, Neill thought I was wierd, because having only known me for a year, and 99% of the time I am a very confident person, he was astounded at my behaviour and thought I was gonna be as cool as the proverbial cucumber...no chance. So we went back in the pub, decided over 2 more pints that we should go to the second signing and made our way there, via a few more toilets. The second signing was tiny, hardly any people there, saw some people that were at the first one - any of you guys? Well it was really good to be at such a small signing, lots more chilled out...however this didn't stop me from chickening out from the queue at the last minute and leaving poor old Neill to get the book signed whilst I hovered around outside the window, watching James's tapping leg and lip reading what the hell Neill was saying to him. I shudder to think. However, I did in my 4 pinted mind, think that videoing the whole thing was the way forward (Neill does do extraordinary things with his eyebrows when he talks...or maybe James was saying some really interesting things to him...?). Nevertheless, thank you James and Ozbo for a lovely day out - can't wait til the next one, yay! And...who is Jenny btw?

Heello and welcome nudiibranch You sound like you had quite an eventful day ;D Glad you met James and Oz. I think the second signing was always going to be the most quiet out of the 2. Don't worry seems like we all go a bit odd when faced with James
