Cabi did an interview for the BFBS this morning. It's mainly about what's it like to fly such an awesome plane, but he does say some nice things about James as well. www.sendspace.com/file/k6lzxu

Finally, I saw these programmes today. Wow. I'm sure I wasn't the only one that felt a little twinge here and there. Especially when James came over all claustrophobic with the space suit/helmet. That was an epic pair of programmes. Kudos where it's due.

Once I get a free moment, I may have to locate this on iPlayer or YT, if possible, since traveling has gotten in the way. I did manage to catch the U2 flying, but couldn't catch the training, since our B&B didn't catch BBC4. What we saw was very good and very impressive. Rice crispies. ;D I love the line, "I knew this would happen. My nose itches and I can't scratch it." LOL. He sounded an awful lot like Darth Vadar or Christopher Lee in that space suit. Great voice!

Don't know whether this goes here or in 'The News' section. There is a particularly nasty review of James' two Moon programmes in todays Culture section of The Sunday Times , page 17.Reviewer is A.A.Gill and the article is entitled 'The Inarticulate Hairy Bloke Has Landed.' It made my blood boil. I am not very good at scanning, I'll tyr to get the man to do it later, although , trust me, it is better not read.

That name sounds Filmer did A.A.Gill have ago at James before over big ideas?

Thanks for that Daisy, I forgot about online. I go for the option of sending Gill up without the spacesuit, but of course he would never have withstood the pre-flight training, he would have been booted out long before he got anywhere near the 'plane.

That name sounds Filmer did A.A.Gill have ago at James before over big ideas? I'm not sure. I have heard that name somewhere here before now, but I have no idea where, or what about. *cracks knuckles* *edits* I just found a review that the lovely Gill did about James and Oz. Maybe that was it?

No idea. It's a possibility, as they do write for the same paper

Is this the Gill Jeremy is friends with? It is indeed... and I guess one of their bonds must be that they both speak their minds. Even so, I have to say that this is the first negative response I have seen to the shows, and if he's done this simply for controversy, I hope Jeremy crosses him off his xmas card list!

Maybe he just does not Like James which is fair enough there are planty of people on TV who are not for me. So instead of watching what they in then going on about how i do not like it i do not watch. Maybe he should just not watch James because the impress i get from the review is that not only does not like the show but he does not like James.

Maybe he should just not watch James because the impress i get from the review is that not only does not like the show but he does not like James. He might not get a choice about what to review. Plus, he might have wanted to watch it because he thought he might like it, but then changed his mind after seeing it. I do that often enough with things on TV - the difference is, I don't have to write about it afterwards ;D And we are all slightly biased here, after all!

TBH, I think I'm more disappointed that he couldn't come up with a more intelligent criticism of the shows, without sinking to personally insulting James!

TBH, I think I'm more disappointed that he couldn't come up with a more intelligent criticism of the shows, without sinking to personally insulting James! The problem is, his review seems to be based more on the trailers than it does the actual show itself. Honestly, did Captain Clueless even watch? Or did he just have one of his lackey's do it for him? Because from the sound of it, said lackey decided to skip the show in favour of a trip down the pub. The result? The briefest of overviews based soley on what was available online. Where does it mention the training involved, the astronaut interviews, the U2's impact on our understanding of space flight, the Saturn V rocket, the logistics involved in actually constructing it, launching and reaching the moon? Where's the awe at the sheer immensity of this feat? Mr. May conveyed that quite articulately in my opinion and in a way that plebes like myself could understand, without the need of a degree in physics, aeronautics or engineering. Mr. Gill, on the other hand (and in an appalling attempt to be clever), has ignored this and used his so-called review to legitimize his personal attacks. My advice, sir – grow the f@ck up!! And next time you do a review might I suggest you actually watch the show, instead of the trailers. Or better yet, don't steal your underlings Cole notes. It just makes you come off looking transparent, stupid and unprofessional.

I agree i have no problem with him saying he did not like the show because of ..... But it seems to go in to a personal attack maybe he upset because Jeremy been to busy with May to go on another holiday together.

Well if all he can do is be pety and infantile, he isn't worth bothering with, don't waste your energies on it, it's not worth it.

I will say no more, other than a bright future awaits Mr. Gill in trash tabloid journalism.
