Aww, that's lovely Aeromanda. How thoughtful of your hubby. He obviously doesn't take you for granted! Nat, I see the Pedestal as the opposite to the Sin Bin. ;D

The Pedestal? I wouldn't know what that means!! But I have the idea here you can mention people that have made your day or did something incredeble? That's about it - if you're not sure what a thread's about, it's usually a good idea to go right back to the beginning and have a look at the original post. Here's why this thread started: So it looks like you got it dead right

Heheh, okay, will do so next time when not understanding something. Let me see, today.... I saw little ducklets (well, see them dayly) that made me happy. Also the fact that Im going to watch the new JM Toy Stories tonight with my brother.. Isn't it adorable that a young man still wants to watch series with his old nasty, crazy, weird sister..? So a Pedestal for my brother! He often makes me happy, even though I NEVER tell him, as Im, well not good at expressing my feelings..

A local activist I met on Twitter gets the pedestal today. I'd agreed to meet her at her place to buy some tomato plants, since mine all died when we had a few days of cold stormy weather earlier this week. She gave me the entire flat of leftover plants for free, and tossed in 3 sweet potato plants and two pepper plants. She said the tomatoes were going to go into the compost pile up until I'd mentioned wanting tomatoes on Twitter, so she said it didn't seem right to charge me for what was essentially garbage to her. Now I need to go find all my plastic containers. She didn't take money, but she said she'd definitely need all the plastic planters she could get come spring. Monday and Tuesday are going to be hot sweaty days in the garden. I hope this batch of plants survives. Heck, I hope I don't get sick of eating tomatoes!

I'm putting Wyvern on here because she bought me a birthday pressie I've been waiting about 46 years to get! It was one of a series of 6 books I loved when I was a kid, I had 5 of them but my parents never managed to find that last one! Not only did she find the missing one, but has also found 2 others I didn't know existed - I think they were only published in the US version of the same series! Now, technically I may be a little old for "The Large and Growly Bear" but I don't care, it's made my day. Thank you!

I love my collection of children's books more than any of my other possessions.

I'm putting MorganStarr on here. She is a top sort, and since finding her on this board, she's quickly become so important to me. We are on opposite sides of the world, but we talk each day (well, type each day). I think James would be proud to know that a mutual affection for him has resulted in a beautiful friendship, as I'm sure others have found.

I shall, trouble is my house is now a hovel ;D though I will say, I'll only buy books on the kindle without pictures and details, novels great, anything with details etc, I need to feel paper. On the whole you can't beat a real book, and seeing as I must have about 500 books, it's time to call it a day, mmm, but I'm loving this piece of techno stuff ;D

I am going to put my ex up here because today she had our cat put to sleep. This might sound like a strange reason, but she and I loved our cat Merlin very much and yesterday we were talking and realised that she was going to have to let him go. They had a vet appointment for next Friday, but this morning she got up and realised that she couldn't put Merlin through another week, that it wouldn't be fair or kind and so she was brave and brought the appointment forward a week. It can't have been easy - we've both shed a lot of tears - but I'm so proud of her for being strong enough to do what was best for Merlin rather than hanging on to the poor old puss for as long as possible.

It's so sad to lose a pet but I agree, a point can come where you just know it's the right thing to do. I'm glad your ex was able to make the decision.

Thank you all for the kind thoughts. There are some pics of Merlin in the early pages of the Feline Thread if any of you are curious. He was a sweet and lovely boy and he'll be very missed.

My Boss's Boss belohgs on here for buying me a whole litre bottle of Baileys just for doing my job.
I know I have to stay late a few evenings around this time of year to get all the timetables printed up for the new students and I get time off in lieu but if she thinks it's worth a bottle of Baileys as well, who am I to argue? ;D

DMC and adrianmay. They know why. (I think you know why? I mean, aside from general awesomeness?) My husband. And strangely, MY CAT. She's been very sweet to me the past few weeks, she knows something's wrong. All my friends who have been supportive(yeah, friends, not family ). The news from home just keeps getting worse and worse by the day, but you guys are really helping me not go completely crazy. Thank you.

I am putting my mum and dad on the pedestal. This could so easily have been the weekend from hell, because my sister decided to change all the plans once I'd booked my trains to come down and spend the weekend with my nephews. Related to this, today's family lunch turned into the family lunch from hell too, and when I got back to mum & dad's, we sat down and had a good heart to heart about family matters. I felt brave enough to tell them about my ex's sex change, and they were totally unphased and completely accepting.
So then I decided to be very brave, so I took a deep breath and came out as bisexual.
My dad smiled, and said 'as if we hadn't guessed.'
And then we carried on talking about all the stuff we normally talk about. If I'd realised it was all going to be that easy, I'd have done it years ago! My mum and dad, basically, are ace ;D

It's great having a supportive family and great that you have felt able to finally tell them.
I have a great relationship with mine,I put them on here except they never fell off.

Awww, Wyvern. That is wonderful. I like happy endings. I want to put my mum on the pedestal - not just because she is my lovely mum, but because she has just given me the money to buy a new laptop as my current one is just about ready to pack up.
