Well, I used to drive an Oldsmobile Achieva. I had it for about 10 years and I loved it. That's why I got so upset when it started making a funny noise in the engine and my husband said "that sounds like an expensive noise." After taking it to the mechanic and find out it would cost probably $500-$2000 to fix (and as a trade in the car would only be worth $100) we decided it was time for a new car. I really wanted a Mitsubishi Eclipse or a Toyota Spider - something sporty. But my husband said he didn't want to have to pay the insurance increase on a sports car. Blah, blah, blah. Well, I know it is a long way away from an Eclipse but we finally settled on a 2011 Ford Fiesta. (Which is the car on TG that Jeremy drove in the shopping mall when he was being chased by the baddies in a Corvet. We even got the same green color that was on the show.) Well, it is the first brand new car we have ever had. We got it this past Saturday and I have been driving it all week and so far I love it. It is a great funky little car and it is lots of fun to drive. Maybe not as fun as a sports car but then it didn't cost as much either. All in all I am very happy with it.

Having had a coming together with the wing mirror of a Tranny van resulting in a completely wrecked passenger side, rear light assembly and a dent in the surrounding bodywork (but no damage at all to the Tranny or the wing mirror ) my truck is in truck hospital and I am reduced to riding round in a brand new Toyota Aygo Blue. Well equipped little thing - 6 CD changer AC, full electrics pack etc) but should really be called the Toyota Aygo Very Slowly At least it doesn't use much juice

I drove a 2000 Hyundai Elantra from 2001-April 2010. Then it exploded. Worst possible time, out of town after a long weekend. Now I drive (lol) a 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring. The car is roomy, gets good gas mileage, has sufficient HP that I don't feel like I'm slouching down the highway, and has all the features I really need for a price I couldn't refuse. Might also add that the current Top Gear "reasonably priced car" is the UK Kia version of my car. My aspirations are thus: Step 1: Learn to drive very quickly and well Step 2: Become a star Step 3: Get on Top Gear! - Cor

My very first car was an old, worn out Honda Accord 86-model without plates, which my dad got me so I could practise driving when I was about 15-16 years old without being afraid of crashing into things. Which I did. Often. And later on purpose ;D It was an amazingly good car to drive though! When the snow goes off, I think I'll find an amusing way of destroying it, as the steering is kind of broken and it can't be used on the road anymore. I'm thinking of something TG-inspired maybe..? ;D And catch it on tape, of course. I'm open for suggestions! In April last year, when I finally got my driving licence, I became the proud owner of a car as close as possible to the Subaru Impreza STi that I've always dreamed about. A proper STi is waay to expensive at the moment, but maybe I'll be able to realize my dream someday in distant future. But for now, my baby is more than good enough for me! ;D It's just an ordinary Impreza 99-model, with yellow stickers, golden rims (on the summer tyres) and a spoiler on it, but as I said, it's good enough! It's a dream to drive, and I do really love it! I couldn't have found a better car! And, some people actually think it's a proper STi! ;D I damaged my (very boring) original bumper when I had an encounter with a bank of snow earlier this winter (it's a quite large crack on the other side as well, as you can see in one of the photos above) But luckily, I got a new GT front bumper along with the car, to mount on it as soon as I find some ( not too expensive) fog lights and blinkers Like on this one: www.todoautos.com.pe/attachments/f17/91753d1210084245-vendo-neblineros-originales-de-subaru-impreza-turbo-o-wrx-subaru_impreza_gt_99.jpgI'm really looking forward to get it on! ;D

My 3-series BM needed replacing, so I have upsized a tad! I am sure someone on here has a black Thunder one of these too? That would be me Yours is a 3 litre though, isn't it? Diesel or petrol? When I got mine they only did the 3.0 as an automatic and I prefer a manual box. I hope you love it as much as I love mine. I've done a 250 mile trip down through the Peak District today and it was just brill as usual!! The sound system is very good for a commercial IMHO especially when you crank it up until your ears bleed ;D Love the colour too. I think Ford have got some really eye-catching ones at the moment. The Fiesta's are particularly good

My cars in succession: 1995 Ford Taurus, old bodystyle, got 25 mpg, had to give up because floor pans rotted out. 1997 Buick LeSabre, loved the stability with studded tires in the snow, am giving up because suspension is rotting out, the throttle sticks, big crack in windshield, and it needs expensive bodywork. 1998 Honda Civic-in the process of graduating to road worthiness once again. Needs brake lines and some judicious applications of grease.
Nicknames-the Taurus was the 'tortise', the LeSabre I dubbed 'the beast' because it has a silver door on one side and silver front side (passenger side), and the rest of the car is green. Paint's coming off the hood as well, so it looks like a monster/beast. The Civic doesn't have a nickname yet, I have to get to know the car first and nickname according to temperament. I'm weird like that, haha.

Oh a VW! Nothing like a Cadillac or 80s style Porsche 911 with the whale tail(tails) in the back! My Honda (my donkey) has come back from the dead with a new alternator-had to replace a cheesy piece of crap China one with one from Bosch. It lives!

Because I am ancient I cannot remember all my cars, but..... Learnt to drive in a VW Bettle, Morris Maxi, Ford Escort (instructor ended up having a heart attack!) Left hand drive Peugeot and a Ford Cortina Peugeot 104 - Red and rust (more rust than red) Ran without oil as well Ford Capri Loved that car Ford Sierra, aka B Reg Bin. It was the BF VW Station Wagon (South Africa) BMW - hated it Triumph Stag - EW! BF spent more time with it Cavalier Mk 2 in green - head on collision killed it aka Big Jan (After Jan Molby!) Cavalier hatchback in blue - buggered the CV joints and something else on it Errr, then some other rubbish THEN BRAND NEW AND STILL IN THE BOX... Renault Megane - the one without the big arse! My baby capri. I loved that car Peugeot 306 or 9, can't remember. It was a mis-build and I knackered the exhaust on that. Then some stupid man ran into the side of me. Grrrr Then I had some sort of bad lapse and bought...... A Picasso in lilac! My excuse being it would get my disabled father into the car easier. Then.... Caravan club car of the year.... A Kia Cerato (The exact same one on TG goes Camping). Stop laughing.... it wasn't a bad car. This particular car was minding it's own business sat at a set of traffic lights one day and a bloody big car pulled up beside it. Being the nosey bugger I am, I looked across at the driver and guess who it was? I picked my jaw up from the floor - His Lordship pointed at my car and laughed! (Cheeky sod!) I shrugged my shoulders back, he engaged warp drive and left me and cyril sat at the lights. I went back to work bitterly complaining that Mr James May had just taken the p*ss out of my Cyril. Had another beemer last year and couldn't live with it. Now I have a Hyundai i30 estate, which is great for work. I can't remember all the cars I've owned as my family work in the motor industry, so I change cars like some people change their underwear! One day I will get revenge on you, May!!!!

My college roommate had a Capri. It was very cool.

I know James wouldn't be impressed with my main car as it's a Mini Cooper S convertible, and he hated one when he reviewed it for TG years ago (as did hammond)
I would like to think that, if he saw the GT6, he would admire it a little bit. Maybe even blow a kiss at it. Certainly smile (it's such a happy little car).

I had to google GT6. What a lovely car. I don't know that they were ever sold in the US (if they were, they've probably turned into piles of rust by now).

This is my baby, for any who haven't seen her. I've had her for just about 2 years, her name is Purdey, and she doesn't get out often enough as I don't like her getting wet!

I got my driving licence last September, driving a Lancia Ypsilon (not the new model, the older one). Good car, quite easy to drive. Currently I'm driving a black Fiat Bravo from the late 90s. It makes a big noise when I drive it and has a Momo steering wheel. My dad was driving it when an police officer stopped him and said it was "a suspect car". -.- The other car we have is a blue 2008 Daihatsu Materia, also known as Juju. I don't like to drive this car very much because... in my opinion... the clutch pedal is too short. But it had the honour to have my P-plate...

A 2006 Toyota Rav-4. I bought it new. It has sustained ex-boyfriend war wounds as the years have progressed so it sadly doesn't totally look like this anymore. It has dings, scratches, dents, etc. But I love it regardless. Beautiful car, Dit!

Love the RAV4! My dad revved up the old RX7 a few days ago and when no animals shot through the exhaust, he deemed it a success. > I think the dog was a little disappointed though. Here's the steering wheel and gagues... twitter.com/#!/Phoenix_1983/status/186152602705211392/photo/1 The car from the side next to... another RX7! Purdey the GT6 turned over 100,000 miles this afternoon, just outside Big Tesco in Blackpool (though to be more accurate she turned over 00,000, as there aren't enough spaces for the 1).
In celebration I took her for a Wash 'n' Wax, and treated her to ten pound's worth of petrol. She's going on show tomorrow at an event at the Mill at the bottom of my road, so at least I'm pretty sure she'll get there without incident (fingers crossed!)

Update, and sorry for going on about my car, but I'm just getting back 'into' her again, having had her tucked away in the garage all winter. Purdey and I had a good day at the rally, and here she is in the sunshine A weird thing happened. There aren't many of these around, not surprising as they were built from 1966-1973. Apparently it's unusual to see more than one even at the larger rallies. This was a reasonably small rally. As I arrived at the entrance I was behind a GT6 with another behind me. To add to the coincidence, they were all on a G registration plate, and one was the twin to mine! (The other was off-white.) The other two were both being driven by guys who'd spent the previous few years doing up their cars, so I took the opportunity to get them to look over Purdey. They gave me some useful info, and I'll be phoning the man who looks after her in the morning (minor oil leak). This was the car that was like mine. The owner and I ruminated on how close the two had been on the production line in 1969. and this is Purdey from the same angle
