A new person claiming to be James has appeared on Twitter last week. He's more convincing than the other guy, but he still looks looks like a fake to me. He seems to think Jezza is on Twitter as well and he doesn't mention going to the AC/DC concert or the Plasticine workshop. twitter.com/fiatpanda

find it hard to believe the real james would not mention plasticine/flowers/IHE/missing thundersprint/ac_dc/meeting the queen at least once, somewhere in his twittering

What I don't understand is why would someone want to pretend to be someone else on there? I don't understand how they think.

He is fake as the colour of Simon Cowell's hair! He's not James. UNtil proven it is, I saying that's a fake. *waits for another photoshopped picture*

Also, do you not think that James has a bit more to do than go on there? He is always busy! And I don't think that he would talk about his personal life either.

Well, aside from the fact that he uses American style "double quote marks", claims to have had a haircut on 3 April, calls Jeremy 'Manx' and claims still to have a Bentley... it's a generally poor effort. That AND the fact that he is posting via PockeTwit which isn't Mac compatible...
Nice try, loser...

So James is a Mac man?

Its also not his style of writing.

Hmm, Becks, we might have to agree to differ on that one. I have nothing against the people who use Macs, jus the machines themselves. But then again, I had nothing but bad experiences with Macs so I think that is just me.

There are some celebs on there for real though aren't there? I believe from what I have heard from other people that Stephen Fry's one is genuine.

Yeah Stephen Fry's is genuine - definitely his style of writing! As for "fiatpanda" - trying to sound real but I'm skeptical. I'm following it just for the hell of it though

On www.valebrity.com you can check out who is real and who is a fake. I'm still not sure about Oz Clarke, whether he's the real thing or not.

Although didn't valebrity say RealJamesMay was the real deal and then he was exposed as a fake?
Oz is just weird.

No valebrity did not wanted to add RealJamesMay on the site because they did not know if it really was him.

Oz is the real Oz. Stephen Fry is (obviously) real.

Bill Bailey's real. So is Alan Carr. And Wil Wheaton and Brent Spiner from Star Trek. Oh, and Jonathan Ross and the other one with the mad hair and dodgy trousers are both real.
Oz is real? That surprises me, unless he's been tweeting after some dodgy Hungarian Riesling. He's completely bonkers.

Bill Bailey's absolutely real... no fake could replicate that much lunacy! And Alan Davies is real, but Oz? Aye right!

I’ve only quite recently started paying attention to this Twitter malarkey – since Sniff Petrol began to Tweet, in fact.
I’m inclined to agree that Mr/Ms Fiatpanda seems as dodgy as a two bob watch. However, the newly fettled Bentley he/she/it refers to could be the Continental Supersports, assuming the writer is a very, very lucky man/woman/hermaphrodite and has been graced by Crewe with a test drive. Fiatpanda doesn’t claim to own the Bentley, after all.
But the style of writing seems as unlikely to be James May’s as the author’s unsolicited endorsement of Belgian (and horribly blonde) beer.
I might be wrong. I often am. Many gifted wordsmiths have devalued their intellectual currency by putting themselves about, tragically unedited, on the t’interweb. But, I suppose I choose to believe that James May is a smarter bloke than that. Also, he has mates to talk to – he doesn’t need followers.
Actually, one way to discover if Fiatpanda is even remotely real is to ask Sniff Petrol. Sniff is real… in a hairy-chested, truth seeking, avenging angel sort of way. And I think Sniff might quite enjoy baiting a fake James May or two.

Claudia Winkleman (squeaky and much dodgy black eyeliner) is real as verified by Phillip Schofield (also real), Robert Llewellyn, Jimmy Carr, Bill Bailey (with his woodlice army), Phil Jupitus, Eddie Izzard (anyone see a theme?), Lily Allen (she's very random) and then I tend to follow people just to see if they come up with anything. SNiff is very good.
Twitter is enlightening and quite bizarre.
