Twitter can be quite funny. I'm following the monster of Loch Ness (@therealnessie), although Nessie has been awfully quiet lately. ;D I don't like the fact that some companies now start following people at random, in the hope of being followed back. I had to block my first follower today: some on line sex toys shop. Becks: just wondering what makes you sure that Oz is real?

I already blocked a bunch of people. If you use the word diet in a twitter then you suddenly have about 20 new friends in 5 minutes

Yeah, because didn't he reply by saying something like 'James has just been given a Manga cartoon of himself' and didn't he also mention something about eating James' sweets.

I believe that was Amy (could be wrong though) and Oz denied it at the time....but then, shortly after, came the bit about him eating James's choccies, so who knows?

Nope, thankfully @fiatpanda only has about 139 followers, so he's not taken too seriously. @realjamesmay has over 15.000 although he states that he is not the real one. He hasn't posted since the end of March by the way, so maybe he got tired of being a loser.

I'm baffled at the Oz being real. Amy asked him at the booksigning, and he said he didn't have one the day before. Which was when @ozclarke started tweeting...

Dylan Moran appears to be real, but he only tweets once a month by the look of it!

I hope you lovely gels wot Twitter have noticed Jamie Hibbard’s latest attempt to get down with the kids and their newfangled gadgetry. Hibbard (an editor for Topgear.com) “tweets” as jamiehibbard and yesterday launched TopGear_beta (the underscore matters, apparently). Consult that address for up to the minute, authentic twitterings on Top Gear doings.
‘Tis much better than fraudpanda, who is an attention seeking tw*t.

I do, and I most certainly have! In fact, I suspect I spend entirely too much time on Twitter and it can only be a matter of time before I'm challenging Stephen Fry for his 'Most Compulsive Twitterer' crown. It has to be said, though, that my tweets tend to contain more breasts and less Wagner than his.

Another community service announcement (two in one night – clearly I am rendered an insomniac by a guilty conscience… or not…)
Somebody mentioned to me last week that the Top Gear offices have confirmed that each and every TG presenter profile on Twitter (Hammond, May and Clarkson) is a fake. Have just found where this (fairly subtle) confirmation occurred.
The Jaguar PR team complimented RealJamesMay (remember him?) on his drive of the XK120 in episode 1. Jamie Hibbard then warned Jag, privately, that they should check with TG, since they were flattering a fabulist. Jag, publicly, said:
@jamiehibbard Ah, we didnt, thanks for the tip, we're new on here :-) 1:30 AM Jun 24th from web in reply to jamiehibbard
Hibbard answered:
@jaguarukpr any time! None of the presenters are on here in fact, so don't be fooled. 3:36 AM Jun 24th from web in reply to JaguarUKPR
Nuff said.

Thanks Lucy! That @fiatpanda bloke has over 4800 followers, really annoying. I wish he made a slip - like @realjamesmay did - so people would realise it wasn't James himself.

Yeah that Fiatpanda one does, unfortunately, speak in what could be his shorthand internet manner. If he had one. Gah.
btw, I am going to @ fiatpanda now with "I put it to you that you're not really James May." Because it's funny how so many people (including me for a while) thought it was him. There's too much damning evidence.

My thoughts at first were that everything he posted was accurate but, given our extensive knowledge of what Jame's up to project-wise, any one of us could set up an acount which was just as, if not more, convincing than fiatpanda? Only thing that made me wonder, was that Steve Pizzati proclaimed him a fake, but later replied normally to one of his 'tweets'... why?

Well I put "@fiatpanda I don't believe you're actually James May. Thought you were, but now I'm not so sure... #truth"
'they' haven't posted in a while, though. Could be a bit of time before any (possible?) reply. There have been a few people asking for him to get the Confirmed button thing Twitter are putting on "actual" people's accounts (see Stephen Fry's for example) or if not, just announcing they're fake etc.

You never know. I think that maybe it would go one of two ways, with Jeremy, he would either get so into it and get a bit obsessed or he would forget all about it and only post once a year.

Well, Tweetie seems to be the app of choice so who knows. I think all he'd need is a quick lesson on how to post and reply to people, and we'd have Clarkson-isms all over twitter before you know it. Is it just me or does "Clarkson-isms" sound a bit dirty?
