Something really funny is going on on Twitter.
TopGear on Twitter has now for some days been telling people that @fiatpanda is not James, but someone faking. This has lead to some rather nasty tweets to the guy, to which @fiatpanda has now replied:
Ah, now I understand previous tweets. Someone is pretending to be tg (@bbc_TopGear apparently). P.S. Collection box out for house!

@richard_hamster has admitted to being a fraud. I suspect he couldn't withstand the constant mocking from @sniffpetrol. Let's hope @fiatpanda gets the message soon. Mind you, if/when he does, I shall miss Richard Porter's pointed barbs - such as this one announcing the fake Hammond had come clean:

It's one thing for @fiatpanda to attempt to convince people that @bbc_TopGear is faking it - an ambitious (but rubbish) thing, but still one thing - but he can't take down @sniffpetrol and @garethjonestv (who frequently interacts with @sniffpetrol, for obvious reasons) or all the other people in the know. Eventually he will have to admit he's not who he says he is...

Just noticed it as well.  I wonder how long it will take his 12.554 followers to pick it up and unfollow him. LOL I saw that he's finally confessed he's a fake, good on those that exposed him!
There is another fake Richard as well called TGR_Hammond - I mentioned him to the real Top Gear a/c and they put on there not to follow him and after that he blocked me ;D
He keeps protesting that he's real - I find him rather creepy..

I know I may be biased, being a fan, and it does rather depend on whether you can deal with the edgier side of his humour but @sniffpetrol (Richard Porter - TG's script editor) is well worth following because he will relentless take the p*ss out of fakes, and it does give a pretty good indication of whether the people in question are who they say they are.

Sounds good. I noticed there a few with Verified Accounts these days - to prove they are who they say they are. Pity the TG3 don't take up Twitter. I'm new to it but it's amazing who is on there!!  |

You know, I really wanted to post a comment on that annoying bint's new web page (excuse the language, I'm extremely tetchy).
However, since I don't spend all my waking hours on social networking sites, I don't seem to own a "profile" that permits the comments box on fraudpanda's blog to work. Anyway, for the benefit of the ladies of the James May Board (who personify all that is sane and nice on t'interweb) here is what I would have said:
So, a silly little Australian schoolgirl thought she could imitate the writing of James May? I suggest you get back to studying for that Ancient History final, my dear. Oh, and maybe ask mummy and daddy to lend you a few knicker for a good lawyer, just in case Top Gear and May's people track you down - which won't be that difficult. In fact, they probably already know exactly who you are.
It's curious that none of the May's long term fans, who read his books and admire his style, were ever fooled. Your literary imitation (all exclamation marks and cliches) was, frankly, pathetic. Your glaring ignorance of all things automotive was a dead giveaway, too. But I suppose in the Twitterverse, there's nobody around to impress or deceive other than immature poppets like yourself, and these were the people you fooled. So glad you've finally shut up.
On second thought, maybe the better course would be to leave her blog alone. The fewer comments the better, since she appears to thrive on them.

I haven't been on Twitter for a while until today. But I couldn't believe this was still going on, and that @fiatpanda has only just come out. Srsly, we all knew that it wasn't really him, anyway! It's totally amused me that so many people followed, thinking it was real, including @ozclarke! I dunno, I think it probably would have been funnier had they kept up the charade.

Maybe it's an account run by the agency because James can't be bothered to keep it updated for himself. Meaning we'll get one or two lines by the man himself once in a while, but most of the content will be from others.

I sincerely hope this new account is the real thing, because I've simply no more vitriol to spare on another fabulist.
But whoever typed "this weeks addition" (sic) needs spanking with a long handled s.p.o.o.n.
