Good luck mate Andy does speak sense. Under her new proposals we’d have to boost the number of women on the show to reflect the make up of the population. That means mathematically one of our three presenters would have to be a transsexual, so James is firing up the bandsaw and digging out the Kate Moss Top Shop collection as we speak.I'd have thought British Home Stores would be more his thing... not enough florals in TopShop, surely...  Maybe he could still use Boden ;d |

I don't think that's right. I'm sure there's something out there. Becks probably would know, my brain's not clear.
I think he was offered TG after the producers saw him on Driven. I think Driven ended and he was able to go to the BBC.

AFAIK James was doing stuff for Driven AND (old) Top Gear but then obviously old Top Gear ended (2001ish?) and then Driven ended in 2002, then James got the job on (new) Top Gear in May 2003 once they'd worked out that Jason Dawe was not aesthetically pleasing enough no good at presenting. |

Oh dear. I fear Andy is making it worse for himself there... "...it just means one of the show’s editorial pillars involves a journey into the male mind, in the same way that the excellent What Not To Wear veers more towards the female mind." Tut tut... *shakes head* What was that bit about people enjoying shows on their own merit? Personally, I'd love to see a female presenter on Top Gear. Not that I don't love James Rich and Jezz but I'd love to see some whip-crackingly smart, cool lady give those three old show troopers a run for their money. ;D |
